Abstract: A magnetic resonance (MR) system, including at least one wireless radio-frequency (RF) coil comprising antennas for receiving induced MR signals and an antenna array comprising transmission and reception antennas; a base transmitter system (BTS) having an antenna array comprising a plurality of transmission and reception antennas configured to communicate with the RF coil using a selected spatial diversity (SD) method; and at least one controller to control the BTS and the RF coil to determine a number of transmission and/or reception antennas available, couple the transmission and reception antennas to form corresponding antenna pairings, and determine signal characteristic information (SCI) of the antenna pairings, select an SD transmission method based upon the determined number of antennas and the determined SCI for communication between the BTS and the RF coil, and establish a communication channel between the BTS and the RF coil in accordance with the selected SD transmission method.

Abstract: A method comprises receiving, by a computing system, a secret knowledge factor, and a biometric sample from a signing party. The biometric sample comprises at least one of an approval sample and an intent sample. The computing system generates an encryption key using the secret knowledge factor as an input to a password authenticated key exchange protocol, and encrypts the biometric sample with the encryption key. The computing system generates a biometric electronic signature agreement and intent (“BESAI”) token including the encrypted biometric sample, and a signing party identifier in clear text associated therewith. The BESAI token can be verified using a decryption key generated using a stored knowledge factor as an input to the password authenticated key exchange protocol, and the approval of terms of and confirmation of intent to sign the electronic agreement by the signing party can be verified after decrypting the biometric sample.

Abstract: The invention provides an energy generation and/or conversion system and method wherein an electrical power generator is controlled to periodically alternate between a contact-mode, during which elements of the generator are brought into contact to induce a state of charging, and a non-contact mode, during which plates of the generator are separated from one another and electrical energy is generated through electrostatic induction. Timing and duration of contact and non-contact modes are controlled by a controller, or by user commands, in dependence on a charge state of the elements of the generator: In this way elements are controlled to come into contact only when surface charge has fallen below a certain level, and re-charging is necessary; contact time between the elements may hence be minimised—thereby minimising incurred noise and surface wear—whilst still maintaining a given desired threshold power output.

A deformable pillow extends radially inward from the serrated profile core, to define a gasket intermediate portion about the flange, and a gasket inner portion radially inward from the flange. The deformable pillow material and thickness are selected such that upon compression to a thickness no less than the core thickness, the gasket inner portion exhibits a stress level sufficient to preclude corrosive liquid flowing through the pipe from passing radially outward beyond the gasket inner portion, and the gasket intermediate portion exhibits a stress level sufficient to preclude gas and liquid flowing through the pipe from passing radially outward beyond the gasket intermediate portion.

In the method, at least one communication identifier is received by the base station of the user equipment in the coverage area of the base station after the base station has processed information indicative of a disconnection between the base station and the connection information database, e.g. a disconnection between the base station and the core network. The received at least one communication identifier is stored in a local storage associated with the base station. The communication service is established via the base station using the communication identifier from the local storage.

Abstract: An improved emergency response system includes a set of databases which relates to volunteer responders and patients, which is controlled by a central system computer. The system interacts with patients and volunteer responders through a wireless network to patient and volunteer communicator devices. The emergency response system calculates and provides a compensation to the volunteer responders based upon their on-duty time, proximity to enrolled patients, and optionally based upon their performance during training and cardiac rescue events.

Abstract: A concept for training a neural network model. The concept comprises receiving training data and test data, each comprising a set of annotated images. A neural network model is trained using the training data with an initial regularization parameter. Loss functions of the neural network for both the training data and the test data are used to modify the regularization parameter, and the neural network model is retrained using the modified regularization parameter. This process is iteratively repeated until the loss functions both converge. A system, method and a computer program product embodying this concept are disclosed.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for the delivery, into interdental spaces, of oral care active agents contained in particles. The particles are made of one or more superabsorbent polymers (SAP), and are of size generally small enough to be easily applied into an interdental space. To this end, the particles typically have a length of below 1.5 mm. By virtue of the SAP's ability of absorbing several times its own weight in water, the particles will swell once in contact with saliva. As a result, the volume of the particles as applied in between teeth increases by at least eight times, thereby effectively making the particles larger than the average interdental gap size. The particles, once swollen, are thus held more firmly between the walls of the interdental space, thus preventing them from being easily washed away.
