  • Publication number: 20100046965
Abstract: The present invention converts each of the optical differential signals from DPSK demodulator from an optical signal into an electrical signal by using optical-electrical signal converters. Thereafter, each electrical signal is subjected to amplification adjustment at an appropriate amplification factor by variable amplifier, and an appropriate delay amount is added to each electrical signal by variable delay line, and thereafter data discrimination is performed by discriminator. Since two differential signals after DPSK demodulation are subjected to amplitude and delay adjustments, the need for optical parts is obviated enabling the use of electric circuits which can be integrated. Thus, the cost of the optical reception device will be reduced. Moreover, the since electric signals whose phases and amplitudes are equalized are inputted to discriminator, erroneous determination of data at discriminator will be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20100046353
Abstract: Light output from a laser is split into a first beam which is reflected light and a second beam which is transmitted light, by a polarization beam splitter. The polarization directions of the first beam and the second beam are orthogonal to each other. A disk includes a recording layer, a quarter wavelength plate layer, and a reflective layer. When information is recorded on the disk, the first beam, which travels inside the recording layer to the side of the reflective layer, and the second beam, which passes through the recording layer and is reflected at the reflective layer and travels inside the recording layer to the side opposite to the reflective layer, are focused on the same position. When information is reproduced from the disk, the second beam is blocked by a shutter, and the first beam reflected at the recording layer is received by a photodetector.

  • Patent number: 7667312
Abstract: In a multi-chip package having vertically stacked semiconductor integrated circuits (chips), a heat transmitting conductive plate (5) can be interposed between a lower layer semiconductor chip (3) and an upper layer semiconductor chip (4) and connected to a ground wiring of a substrate (2) through a bonding wire (9). A heating transmitting conductive plate (5) at the ground potential can block propagation of noise between the lower layer semiconductor chip (3) and upper layer semiconductor chip (4). Thus, the addition of noise to signals of an analog circuit in the upper layer semiconductor chip (4) can be avoided, reducing noise induced malfunctions. Furthermore, heat generated by the lower layer semiconductor chip (3) and upper layer semiconductor chip (4) can be transmitted through contact points with the heat transmitting conductive plate (5) for dissipation therefrom. This can improve heat dissipating capabilities of the semiconductor device (1) contributing to more stable operation.
