  • Patent number: 7323523
Abstract: Properties of a polymer produced in gas phase or slurry phase using a dual catalyst such as polydispersity and comonomer incorporation, may be controlled by controlling reaction parameters such as temperature, (co)monomer pressure, hydrogen partial pressure and the presence of non-polymerizable hydrocarbon. This provides an easy method to control the bimodality of a polymer as well as comonomer incorporation.

  • Publication number: 20080020156
Abstract: A labeled expanded resin container that includes pre-expanded resin beads molded in a shape having a sidewall with an outer surface and a base; and a label formed from a label material capable of maintaining an electrostatic charge disposed over at least a portion of the outer surface of the sidewall of the container. The container has a rim strength that is at least 50% greater than the rim strength of a container that does not contain a label, where the containers are otherwise made using the same equipment. After a liquid at 50° F. (10° C.) is placed in the container and the container is exposed to conditions of 86° F. (30° C.) and 60% relative humidity for 30 minutes, less than 2 ml of moisture condenses on the outer surface of the container.

  • Patent number: 7320265
Abstract: A system for controlling an axial movement of an article is presented. The system comprises a support stage assembly and a spring suspension arrangement mounted on the support stage assembly. The spring suspension arrangement comprises first and second assemblies arranged in a coaxial relationship one inside the other. The first assembly is attached to the support stage assembly. The second assembly serves for supporting an article-carrying member and is driven for movement along the axis with respect to the first assembly. The outer one of the first and second assemblies is configured to define two spaced-apart parallel planes perpendicular to said axis. The first and second assemblies are attached to each other by first and second membrane-like members arranged in a spaced-apart parallel relationship along said axis.

  • Patent number: 7319045
Abstract: A method for fabricating GaN-based LED is provided. The method first forms a first contact spreading metallic layer on top of the texturing surface of the p-type ohmic contact layer. The method then forms a second and a third contact spreading metallic layers on top of the first contact spreading layer. The p-type transparent metallic conductive layer composed of the three contact spreading metallic layers, after undergoing an alloying process within an oxygenic or nitrogenous environment under a high temperature, would have a superior conductivity. The p-type transparent metallic conductive layer could enhance the lateral contact uniformity between the p-type metallic electrode and the p-type ohmic contact layer, so as to avoid the localized light emission resulted from the uneven distribution of the second contact spreading metallic layer within the third contact spreading metallic layer. The GaN-based LED's working voltage and external quantum efficiency are also significantly improved.

  • Patent number: 7301163
Abstract: Alignment of layers during manufacture of a multi-layer sample is controlled by applying optical measurements to a measurement site in the sample. The measurement site includes two diffractive structures located one above the other in two different layers, respectively. The optical measurements include at least two measurements with different polarization states of incident light, each measurement including illuminating the measurement site so as to illuminate one of the diffractive structures through the other. The diffraction properties of the measurement site are indicative of a lateral shift between the diffractive structures. The diffraction properties detected are analyzed for the different polarization states of the incident light to determine an existing lateral shift between the layers.

  • Publication number: 20070268591
Abstract: A lens arrangement is presented. The lens arrangement comprises a first element having a concave reflective surface and defining an optical axis of the lens arrangement, and a second substantially flat and at least partially reflective element spaced-apart from the first element along the optical axis. The second element is configured to allow light passage therethrough and is oriented with respect to the optical axis and the first element such that at a predetermined angle of incidence of an input light beam onto the second element, the input light beam is reflected onto the reflective surface of the first element and reflected therefrom to pass through the second element.
