  • Publication number: 20180071365
Abstract: The invention provides a therapeutically-effective method for treatment of heart failure (HF), chronic heart failure, and heart failure post myocardial infarction (MI). This method treats heart failure by enhancing cardiac contractility in a patient by activating ?-arrestin 2 to enhance sarco(endo) plasmic reticulum Ca?2 ATPase (SERCA-2a) small ubiquitin-like modifier-ylation (SUMOlation). Thus, ?-arrestin 2 stimulates cardiac function in heart failure via SERCA-2a potentiation. Additionally, the invention provides a composition for increasing cardiac contractility including a ?-1 adrenergic receptor (?-1 AR) ligand that induces ?-arrestin 2 binding to a ?-1 adrenergic receptor.

  • Publication number: 20180066130
Abstract: Barrier films are prepared from a blend of two high density polyethylene blend components and a high performance organic nucleating agent. The two high density polyethylene blend components have substantially different melt indices. Large reductions in the moisture vapor transmission rate of the film are observed in the presence of the nucleating agent when the melt indices of the two blend components have a ratio of greater than 10/1. The resulting barrier films are suitable for the preparation of packaging for dry foods such as crackers and breakfast cereals.

  • Patent number: 9889906
Abstract: The towing system for a tugboat consists of a ring arranged on the deck of the tugboat along which a cart moves on which a winch is arranged. At a larger diameter of the ring manufacturing inaccuracies of the cart respectively the ring respectively deformations can be absorbed in a particularly efficient way by arranging springs between the wheels that engage the ring-shaped base and the cart on which the wheels are arranged. In particular, such springs are rubber springs such as neoprene springs. These can be arranged as blocks, bushes or the like. Preferably, the cart includes a relatively stiff box on which a winch and, more in particular, an electrical winch is arranged. In particular, the cart is a ring, extending around circumferentially.
