Abstract: The invention provides a recording and reproducing device having a CM skip function, which prevents reductions of advertising effects and user-friendliness. In the case where the contents recorded on the recording and reproducing device include a commercial portion, a viewing history flag is assigned to the commercial portion. If the commercial has been reproduced, the viewing history flag relevant to the commercial is set at 1 to control viewing history of each individual commercial portion. In the case where there is a request for reproduction of the contents, it is determined whether or not the commercial yet to be viewed is more than a predetermined amount to secure convenience for the user by imposing no operational limit until reaching the predetermined amount. If the predetermined amount is reached, an operational limit is imposed so as to urge viewing of the commercial.

  • Patent number: 7237146
Abstract: A data transfer system is provided for preventing a slave device from operating erroneously or running out of control upon resuming communication after communication is interrupted due to the occurrence of abnormal circumstances such as a power failure and the like. A master device transmits a stop condition to the slave device for terminating communication and performs a power failure-processing task when abnormal circumstances such as a power failure or a momentary power failure occurs. The master device transmits a stop condition for terminating communication upon either the occurrence of abnormal circumstances or the resumption of communication subsequent to the recovery of the abnormal circumstances, and transmits a start condition for reestablishing communication after transmitting a stop condition to the slave device. The slave device terminates communication upon receipt of either stop condition and reestablishes communication upon receipt of a start condition.

Abstract: The invention provides an electronic apparatus and data processing method thereof which is possible to read controllable data even if a write error occurs in the process of writing data into a nonvolatile memory. Calculation processing is performed so as to add “1” at the time of writing data into an EEPROM 15, and calculation processing is performed so as to subtract “1” at the time of reading data from the EEPROM 15. Thereby, even if an error occurs at the time of writing data into the EEPROM 15, calculation processing is performed so as to subtract “1” at the time of reading data from the EEPROM 15, thus making it possible to read controllable data.

Abstract: The invention provides a short-circuit protective circuit for a constant-voltage power-supply circuit. The constant-voltage power-supply circuit can realize a short-circuit protection with a simple circuit configuration in a power-supply circuit provided with a plurality of power-supply lines. A regulator is connected to one of a plurality of power-supply lines, and a constant voltage is outputted from an output terminal of the regulator through an output line. An output voltage from the regulator is inputted to constant-voltage circuits as a reference voltage, and output constant voltages from the constant-voltage circuits are supplied to the other output lines. A voltage detection circuit is connected to the other output lines, wherein if a voltage drop occurs in any output line, a detection signal is outputted to an operation circuit, thereby turning off an output control terminal of the regulator. Accordingly, the output of the regulator is stopped so that all of the output lines are stopped all at once.
