Publication number: 20070002709Abstract: A disk replaying apparatus operates such that the polarity of an FA control signal is serially extracted, and a cycle T is extracted from the polarity. When a reciprocal (1/T) of the cycle T is within a “desired-rotational-speed×0.8<1/T<desired-rotational-speed×1.2” range, the reciprocal (1/T) of the cycle T is set to the rotational speed, or otherwise a cycle T is selected again. This operation is attributed to the fact a disk fixed in place is not completely parallel to the absolute position of an objective lens, such that an FE signal corresponding to the rotation of the disk can be extracted, and an FA control signal responsive thereto can be obtained. Thereby, the disk replaying apparatus exhibits high responsivity over the rotational speed control, and is realizable at low costs.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 19, 2006Publication date: January 4, 2007Applicant: ORION ELECTRIC CO., LTD.Inventor: Toshio Nishino

Publication number: 20060289191Abstract: The invention provides a shield case of a disk device for shielding electromagnetic noises irradiated from a circuit board of a disk device, which can be downsized. A shield case 15 is divided into two parts, a first shield case 15A and a second shield case 15B. While enclosing the whole body of the circuit board 6 therein, the shield case 15 is fixed horizontally to the upper surface of the frame 7. The electromagnetic noises irradiated from the circuit board 6 are shielded by the shield case 15. By covering the circuit board 6 with the shield case 15 for shielding electromagnetic noises, the shield case 15 can be downsized as a compact component, and thus a disk device 1 to which the shield case 15 is assembled can also be downsized.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 26, 2006Publication date: December 28, 2006Applicant: ORION ELECTRIC CO., LTD.Inventor: Katsushi Yamashita

Publication number: 20060291358Abstract: The invention provides an optical disk medium reproducing apparatus, having shortened the processing time for re-discriminating (estimating) the optical disk medium type when the discrimination of the optical disk medium type fails. In discriminating two types of optical disk media in which a distance from the disk surface to the recording layer of one medium is a first distance (CD-based medium, 1.2 mm) and a distance of the other medium is a second distance (DVD-based medium, 0.6 mm), a predetermined range in which erroneous discrimination of the two types of optical disk media is likely to occur is determined by setting “point B” and “point C” between said first and second distances, and when the distance falls within said range, a “reflectivity information of the recording layer” is prioritized over a “distance information of the recording layer” in estimating the optical disk medium type, by which the processing time is shortened.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 26, 2006Publication date: December 28, 2006Applicant: ORION ELECTRIC CO., LTD.Inventor: Yoshiyuki Hiranabe
