  • Patent number: 4888697
Abstract: An apparatus for resetting computing devices, particularly devices for fuel proportioning or fuel injection, for adjusting ignition timing, and the like, which are controlled by microprocessors, includes a resetting circuit to evaluate the change in the switching state of the ignition lock switch of the motor vehicle when restarted. The evaluation is effected independently of the supply voltage still at the computing device due to a self-sustaining circuit, by means of an integrated differentiation and the differentiation voltage is fed to a comparator at whose output the reset pulse is formed.

  • Patent number: 4886123
Abstract: In a device for controlling a slip and a traction force of an implement coupled to a tractor by a hoisting unit, a slip contol system is combined with a traction force control system. The control device includes a drive speed sensor connected to the tractor and an acceleration sensor positioned on the tractor. A measured acceleration value is compared in a comparator circuit with an adjusted output signal of the drive speed sensor, and an actual slip value is determined by integration from an acceleration difference signal. The actual slip value is used for adjusting a control value generated in the traction force control system to control a position of the hoisting unit.

  • Patent number: 4886133
Abstract: An electromechanical scale wherein the platform transmits a load to lateral surfaces at one end of the carrier of a strain gauge and the other end of the carrier is affixed to the base of the scale. This contributes to a reduction of overall height of the scale. The carrier has a median portion with a web in the central symmetry plane of the carrier, and such web supports one or more strip-shaped resistors or semiconductors of the strain gauge. The ends of the carrier can be permanently or separably connected to the platform and/or to the base.

  • Patent number: 4884542
Abstract: In a fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines for motor vehicles, a damping device is provided to eliminate so-called vehicle bucking. The device allows rapid adjusting movements of an rpm adjusting lever, which is connected to the driving lever, to affect the supply quantity setting of the fuel injection pump only with a delay. To this end, the damping device has a damping chamber defined by a damping cylinder and a damping piston displaceable therein. The damping chamber communicates with the pump interior via two parallel throttles and via counter-parallel check valves located in series with the parallel throttles. The damping piston is connected to a damper lever on which the rpm adjusting lever is supported via a pre-stressed drag spring.

  • Patent number: 4883088
Abstract: In known pressure regulating apparatus, the pressure regulating valve placed in a holder is provided with a plunge-cut sealing groove for receiving a sealing ring. A filter is also disposed inside the pressure regulating valve. The novel embodiment of the pressure regulating apparatus is intended to make it easier to embody and install the seal between the holder and the pressure regulating valve. To avoid a plunge cut on the bottom part of the valve housing of the pressure regulating valve, the bottom part is provided with a step, defining one side of a sealing groove, while the sealing groove bottom is formed by a restriction extending as far as one end face of the bottom part. The sealing ring is defined on the other side by a ring, which is placed upon the restriction, and being connected with a filter disk extending radially inward and serves as a retaining means for the filter disk.

  • Patent number: 4884203
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method and apparatus for influencing the driving speed of a motor vehicle. The apparatus includes an electronic control unit which includes a microcomputer and a memory. In the control unit, a controller is implemented for the driving speed of the vehicle which is chargeable with an adapted proportional amplification and an integral amplification in dependence on selected and actual driving conditions of the vehicle. The driving modes of "accelerate", "decelerate" and "resume" are automatically carried out pursuant to the steps of the method. Smooth transitions between different speeds are obtained by operating the controller as a proportional controller during acceleration phases.

  • Patent number: 4882976
Abstract: A brake booster in which a servo piston is slidably supported in a housing. The transmission of a brake force is effected via a piston rod protruding into the housing, and a work chamber is formed between the piston rod and the servo piston. After the opening of a valve, this work chamber can be filled with brake fluid from a reservoir or supply container via a pump or the like. A return line also leads out of the work chamber back to the supply container, via a further valve. To improve the closing or sealing behavior of the valves, the first valve is to be embodied for admitting the brake fluid from a valve cone, or its shoulder, the valve cone extending axially in a blind bore of the servo piston, and a valve seat formed out of a valve bushing. The second valve is likewise embodied as a seat valve, and an element connected with the valve cone cooperates with an element connected with the piston rod.

  • Patent number: 4881727
Abstract: A clamping or locking mechanism for interlocking two members includes a shaft slidably disposed in corresponding openings of the members. The shaft has a curved surface and one of the members includes a channel traversal to the opening of this member. In the channel there is an actuating element having a curved surface matching the curved surface of the shaft. As the actuating means is urged toward or away from the shaft, the curved surfaces cooperate to force the shaft to move axially clamping the two members.

  • Patent number: 4881227
Abstract: The invention is directed to an arrangement for monitoring a computer system with two processors in a motor vehicle. The arrangement provides that the two processors monitor each other to the same extent and that this monitoring occurs in the form of a hand-shake operation in the context of a cyclical data exchange between both processors. In this connection, it is especially advantageous that both processors: can operate fully independently of each other; need not utilize a directly coupled or common I/O-bus; and, are mutually asynchronously operable with different clock frequencies. The arrangement provides a mutual monitoring of two processors to the same extent so that a failure can be localized when it occurs. In this way, the arrangement can distinguish whether a processor has failed or whether an error is present in the peripheral hardware of the processors.
