Patent number: 4872732Abstract: The proposed vehicle brake system has wheel brakes, a master brake cylinder, an auxiliary pressure source, and a brake booster supplied from it for actuating the master brake cylinder, as well as an apparatus capable of preventing the danger of skidding and limiting drive slip at driven wheels. To prevent the danger of skidding, valves disposed between the master brake cylinder and the wheel brakes are provided by means of which the wheel brakes can be disconnected from the master brake cylinder and connected to a pressure fluid supply container to reduce the brake pressure. For replacing the quantities of pressure fluid diverted into this pressure fluid supply container, the valves are connected to the brake booster. To enable limiting drive slip at driven wheels at little expense for additional valves, valves embodied as 2/2-way valves are connected between the wheel brakes of driven wheels and their associated valves also communicate with the auxiliary pressure source.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 1988Date of Patent: October 10, 1989Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventor: Alwin Stegmaier

Patent number: 4873640Abstract: The utilization of the driving-speed adjusting arrangement (10) of a vehicle equipped with a driving-speed control unit as a control element for other functions is suggested. For safety reasons, the driving-speed control unit can only be taken into operation above a specific minimal speed. If the vehicle speed is below this threshold value, then switching contacts (11, 12) of the adjusting arrangement (10) are freely available. When the vehicle is stationary and with driving speeds below a second driving-speed threshold, the switch contacts (11, 12) of the adjusting arrangement (10) are applied for inputting desired values or for directly controlling switching functions. A definitive application of the adjusting arrangement (10) either to an appropriate application or for controlling other functions is made possible by means of the dead zone beneath the first and above the second driving-speed threshold in which the adjusting arrangement (10) is switched without function.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 1987Date of Patent: October 10, 1989Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Peter Burk, Klaus Hahn

Circuit arrangement for generating an output signal that is nonlinearly dependent on the temperature
Patent number: 4873490Abstract: A circuit arrangement is proposed which generates a temperature-dependent output signal that has a virtually ideally quadratic temperature dependency. The circuit arrangement is therefore particularly well suited for high-precision temperature compensation in sensor signal evaluation circuits. At the same time, it is particularly suitable for production by thick-film or thin-film techniques.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 1987Date of Patent: October 10, 1989Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Hans Hecht, Winfried Kuhnt -
Patent number: 4870936Abstract: A fuel injection pump of the distributor type in which a pump piston is driven to reciprocate and rotate simultaneously, thereby acting as a distributer. For fuel injection quantity regulation, an annular slide that is displaceable on a pump piston is provided, by way of which the pump work chamber can be relieved. To attain a low injection rate in the idling range, in addition to a first outlet opening, controlled by an upper edge of the annular slide, second outlet openings axially offset from the first are provided, for a relief conduit of the pump work chamber which cooperate with a radial control opening, which communicates with the pump suction chamber and is disposed in the wall of the annular slide. In the opening direction of this control opening, a groove provided with a throttle is provided, by way of which during idling operation, prior to the opening of the first relief opening, fuel can flow out of the pump piston in order to decrease the pumping rate of the pump piston.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 1987Date of Patent: October 3, 1989Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Franz Eheim, deceased, Max Straubel

Patent number: 4870882Abstract: Mechanism for controlling the rate of travel of a saw as the saw operates and travels upon a radial arm. A housing contains fluid and an axially movable piston and piston rod. A wheel is operably joined to the piston rod and is connected to the piston rod so that the piston rod moves axially as the wheel rotates. A cable is wound upon the wheel and extends from the wheel and is connected to the saw. As the saw is moved upon the radial arm the cable rotates the wheel, and the wheel forces axial movement of the piston rod and the piston. Movement of the piston forces movement of fluid within the housing. The pressure of the fluid controls the rate of axial movement of the piston and the piston rod and controls the rate of rotary movement of the wheel. Thus, the rate of travel of the cable and the rate of travel of the saw are controlled by the rate at which the piston travels as the piston moves fluid within the housing.Type: GrantFiled: August 18, 1988Date of Patent: October 3, 1989Assignees: Albert David Kyte, Robert L. Patent number: 4869562Abstract: A magnetic valve with a connection device is proposed, in which the housing is rotatable relative to the connection device, which encompasses a connector stub formed onto the housing. Embodying the connection device as a male fitting enables the alignment of the housing and the cable plug located on it, which is especially useful when the magnetic valve is installed in a wheel connection of a master brake cylinder. In another version, in which the connector stub is connected to the connection device positively with a snap-in ring, the magnetic valve can be inserted even at inaccessible locations. If the connection device is embodied as part of a brake cylinder, then the magnetic valve can be inserted directly, and the result is a connection that is secure against manipulation.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 1988Date of Patent: September 26, 1989Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventor: Guenter Kaes

Patent number: 4866298Abstract: The invention is directed to a circuit arrangement for evaluating the signals of an inductive sensor such as the kind utilized on internal combustion engines. The coil of the inductive sensor is connected via a coupling capacitor to a differential amplifier connected in the form of a comparator. The coil of the sensor is also connected via the coupling capacitor to a resistance for equalizing charge as well as to a peak-value detector. The peak-value detector is connected to the input of the comparator either directly or via an amplifier circuit and effects a threshold adjustment for the comparator which occurs in dependence upon the signal supplied by the inductive sensor and in dependence upon the rotational speed. Manufacturing variations of the inductive sensor as well as temperature changes have no influence on the output signal.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 1988Date of Patent: September 12, 1989Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Helmut Kniss, Wolfgang Schmidt

Patent number: 4864573Abstract: An apparatus for reproducing a pulse-code-modulated signal comprises error-correction means (3) for correcting errors in one or more of the data words forming the pcm signal. When the error-correction means are no longer capable of correcting errors in the pcm signal, they produce error flags on an output (7), which error flags are applied to a control unit (9). From these error flags the control unit (9) derives a control signal which is applied to a muting unit (6) for switching on the muting unit.A method is described by means of which the control unit derives the control signal from the error flags applied to its input (8). A first auxiliary signal (S.sub.1) is generated if (at least) n.sub.1 error flags are detected within a first time interval (T.sub.1). Subsequently, an i-th auxiliary signal (S.sub.1) is generated if (at least) n.sub.i error flags are detected within an i-th time interval (T.sub.i) which occurs after the instant at which the (i-1)-th auxiliary signal appears.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 1987Date of Patent: September 5, 1989Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventor: Johannes B.
