Patent number: 4818550Abstract: An apparatus and process for marinating foodstuffs in a short period of time. The apparatus includes a sealed vessel for holding the foodstuffs and the marinade, a valve mechanism and a pump for withdrawing air from the vessel through the valve mechanism. Upon withdrawing air from the vessel and reducing the pressure therein, the foodstuffs expand and air is drawn out of the foodstuffs, creating voids therein, and, upon opening the valve and returning the pressure therein to atmospheric, the marinade is drawn into the voids in the foodstuffs, thereby tenderizing and imparting flavor to the foodstuffs.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 1988Date of Patent: April 4, 1989Assignee: Robert H. Patent number: 4818039Abstract: An automatic drive slip regulating unit for motor vehicles or the like which communicates via a connecting line with at least one brake line between a master brake cylinder and an anti-skid system with wheel brakes connected downstream. The connecting line is intended to discharge into a cylindrical chamber of an additional master cylinder, and the cylindrical chamber is intended to be variable by a plunger that is subject to the pressure of a spring-supported spring reservoir plunger. To return this spring reservoir plunger to its terminal position, for instance in the event of leakage or upon termination of the drive slip regulation, the spring reservoir plunger is to be subjectable on its other side to a pressure medium which derives from a separate low-pressure hydraulic circuit.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 1987Date of Patent: April 4, 1989Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Hannes Bertling, Heinz Siegel

Patent number: 4817575Abstract: A fuel injection pump of the distributor pump type having a pump piston driven for simultaneous reciprocation and rotation, the supply quantity of which that is effective for injection is controlled by the opening of a relief conduit of the pump work chamber in that with the aid of a mechanical regulator an annular slide is moved into variable stroke positions on the pump piston. Additionally, for an electronic regulation of the total injection quantity, a pre-stroke (hv) is provided, which is determined by a first valve and which, under the control of a second, electrically controlled valve connected to the output side of the first valve, is added to the basic supply stroke in a variably effective manner in terms of injection. Thus the fuel injection quantity can be regulated within the context of the fuel injection quantity difference resulting from the pre-stroke.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 1987Date of Patent: April 4, 1989Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventor: Gerald Hofer

Patent number: 4815433Abstract: A method and a device for controlling and/or regulating the idling speed of an internal combustion engine is suggested, wherein changes of the operating condition of the internal combustion engine are considered by means of a precontrol being dependent from operational characteristics dimensions of the internal combustion engine, as well as being stabilized during long term changes of the operational condition of the internal combustion engine with the assistance of a correction of the precontrol. Thereby, it is differentiated between a direct correction as well as an indirect correction, for example, additive correction of the precontrol. Block diagrams are provided for both correction possibilities. Also, a plurality of criteria are stated with the assistance of which the time range of the correction may be defined.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 1987Date of Patent: March 28, 1989Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventor: Ernst Wild

Patent number: 4816979Abstract: A circuit arrangement for regulating the high-voltage supply of an electrostatic filter for internal combustion motors whose high-voltage output stage (2) is controlled by a pulse-width modulator (3). The high-voltage output stage (2) contains a diode blocking oscillator which gives off a output voltage (U.sub.A) of several kV on the output side. Patent number: 4813599Abstract: The invention relates to an electromagnetically actuatable fuel injection valve which is used to supply fuel to a mixture compressing internal combustion engine. The fuel injection valve comprises a valve housing provided with an extension in which a valve seat body is disposed. A magnetic coil is mounted on each of the pole parts and a permanent magnet is disposed between the poles of the pole parts. The valve seat body is connected to a guide via a collet. The guide, collet and valve seat body are penetrated by a valve needle which is connected at its one end to an armature and which, at its other end, ends in a closing end. In the guide is a guide bore which is adapted to radially guide a spherical head portion of the valve needle and which then tapers into an abutment face, against which face the valve needle rests by way of the head when the injection valve is open. To open the valve, the valve needle is moved outwardly, thereby uncovering an ejection opening between a valve seat and the closing head.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 1987Date of Patent: March 21, 1989Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Max Greiner, Udo Hafner, Waldemar Hans, Heinrich Knapp, Wolfgang Kramer, Rudolf Krauss, Ferdinand Reiter, Peter Romann, Rudolf Sauer
