  • Patent number: 4811711
Abstract: A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines, in particular an in-line injection pump for Diesel engines, is proposed having an injection quantity governor and an electrically driven feed pump, in which in order to assure an emergency shutoff in the event of a malfunction of the injection quantity governor, a check valve, the forward flow direction of which is toward a suction chamber filled with fuel by the feed pump, is disposed between the pressure-side outlet of the feed pump and the suction chamber. An emergency shutoff device responding to a malfunction switches off the feed pump drive, so that because of the lack of feed pressure the check valve closes and blocks off the suction chamber. The engine comes to a stop, as soon as a partial vacuum is established in the suction chamber, which occurs as soon as several revolutions later.

  • Patent number: 4809072
Abstract: Horizontal and vertical wipe signals are additively modified to vary the boundary between an inserted picture to be faded in and the previously displayed picture to be faded out as part of the fading transition. The resulting modified wipe signals are compared with a zero voltage reference signal to determine intervals, respectively in horizontal and vertical scan, during which the substituted picture is to be switched in. The picture switching signal is also used to substitute, during that same interval, an inverted wipe signal instead of the non-inverted wipe signal. The composite wipe signal thus produced is then compared with a border width control voltage to produce horizontal and vertical border-defining pulses respectively centered on the flanks of the picture switching pulse. The horizontal and vertical border defining pulses are multiplicatively combined to produce the ultimate border defining pulse for inserting the border between the two picture contents.

  • Patent number: 4807846
Abstract: An electromagnetically actuatable fuel injection valve which serves to supply fuel to a mixture-compressing internal combustion engine having externally supplied ignition. The fuel injection valve includes a valve housing with a mouth piece in which a valve seat body is disposed, two magnet coils two cores and one armature, which has a spherical guide section and is connected to a valve needle. The spherical guide section is slidably supported with its circumference in a guide bore of the valve seat body and in its stroke movement away from the core is limited by a tapering stop opening which adjoins the guide bore. A plastic bushing is mounted on a guide step of the valve seat body and is pressed by a spring against the core end face, thereby preventing a dirct flow of fuel to the remnant air gap on the armature, as a result of which the depositing of soil particles in the gap is avoided.

  • Patent number: 4809183
Abstract: To prevent slip-out or slide-out of a vehicle operating in a curve, the lateral stability or, respectively, instability of the vehicle is determined and, if instability or incipient instability is sensed, the vehicle is automatically braked, and/or engine torque of the vehicle engine is reduced. A reference parameter K, which may be variable in accordance with vehicle operating and operation conditions, is compared with a quotient of change of lateral forces applied to the front (V) and hind or rear (H) axles with respect to the change of the slip angle (.delta..sub.V, .delta..sub.H), and if the change of lateral force (.DELTA..sub.S /.DELTA..sub..delta.) at the respective axles, and passes the reference K. The respective axles can then be together or selectively braked in accordance with the extent of deviation from said comparison reference K and/or engine torque also reduced.
