  • Patent number: 4753211
Abstract: An adjusting apparatus for the injection onset of a fuel injection pump includes a spring-loaded adjusting piston which shifts a rotationally adjustable roller ring of a cam drive of an injection pump relatively toward an associated revolving portion in a direction of an early or late injection onset. The adjusting piston defines two control pressure chambers, both of which are acted upon by the supply pressure, of a fuel feed pump which rises as a function of rpm. One chamber can be pressure-relieved via an overpressure valve and the pressure in the other chamber is controlled via a switching valve which is controlled in accordance with temperature. In the control pressure chambers, springs are provided to act upon the adjusting piston and to counteract the pressure in the respective chamber.

  • Patent number: 4752855
Abstract: A humidity sensor, and particularly a sensor which can distinguish between low humidity values, for example below 60% humidity, and high humidity values, for example 90% humidity and thereover, and change the capacitance between output electrodes (5, 6) is formed by applying interdigited comb electrodes (1, 2) on a substrate (8) and applying over the substrate a ceramic mass formed of BaRuO.sub.3, V.sub.2 O.sub.5 and Na.sub.2 WO.sub.4, with a weight relationship of (1.+-.0.4):(1.+-.0.4):(0.6.+-.0.2) preferably 1:1:0.6. The sensor is made by first making a powder of the components, mixing it with a glass paste and, if necessary, a thinner, and applying the resulting paste by thick-film technology to a ceramic substrate on which the electrodes have been applied, and then firing the substrate at a temperature of between 550.degree. C. to 850.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 4752821
Abstract: Color differences between primary color components obtained from a matrix in the usual way are combined by pairs in six non-additive mixers in a known way to produce six color sector signals. In a known system, these sector signals are individually amplitude adjustable for color correction purposes. In order to provide a correction for the luminance signal corresponding to the color corrections that may be made, a low pass-filtered luminance signal is used to multiply either all of the sector signals individually before amplitude adjustment or to multiply their sum after amplitude adjustment, the ultimate product-sum in each case being added to the full-band luminance signal for provision of a corrected luminance signal.

  • Patent number: 4750462
Abstract: A fuel injection apparatus which the termination of the effective pump supply stroke is effected by exposing a relief conduit with the aid of a valve having for instance a control edge, whereupon a highly pressurized fuel flows out via the relief conduit and is directed into a pressure chamber defined by a rear face of a pressure valve closing member. The pressure valve closing member is located in a connection with a fuel injection line that leads from the pump work chamber to the fuel injection valve and is acted upon by a valve spring to effect closing of this injection line. The impact of fuel that reaches the pressure chamber via the releif conduit reinforces a fast closure of the pressure valve closing member at the end of injection, which leads to an abrupt termination of an injection cycle. In addition, or altenatively, the fuel injection valve closing member can also be acted upon by the impact of fuel diversion.

  • Patent number: 4750999
Abstract: A filter includes a bed of particulate solids for removal of contaminants from a fluid directed in a downstream direction therethrough. A barrier is located downstream of the bed of particulate solids and includes an anchoring member having flexible members joined thereto and projecting outwardly therefrom. • Patent number: 4750704
Abstract: A remotely controllable fluid valve includes a solenoid-armature arrangement which functions as an electro-magnetic spring having improved force-displacement characteristics over a mechanical spring. The solenoid magnetizes a pair of axially spaced, sleevelike field poles. The armature is so shaped and initially positioned relative to the field poles that: as the armature, supported in one pole, moves further into the other pole, the axial magnetic force thereon decreases at a decreasing rate with the rate of decrease being greater at higher levels of solenoid energization.

  • Patent number: 4751575
Abstract: A highly stable clock pulse frequency (f2), which may be locked to a central clock pulse source of a broadcasting studio, is used to clock digital color television signals out of a buffer memory (1) and is also frequency multiplied by a factor (n). The output of the frequency multiplier (10) is divided by the same factor (n) in a synchronous divider (11) which counts out every nth pulse and to which horizontal synchronization pulses derived from tape recorded television signals are supplied at a reset input of the synchronous divider. The output (f1=f3/n) of the synchronous divider is used both for clocking the analog to digital converter which converts the color television signals picked up from the tape into digital signals and for clocking the entry of those digital signals into the buffer memory (1).

  • Patent number: 4750460
Abstract: The invention discloses a method for detecting rotational speed fluctuations of an internal combustion engine, wherein in a first step it is checked whether the actual speed of the internal combustion engine deviates from a predeterminable desired speed by more than a predeterminable amount. In a second step, it is checked whether the time distance between two successive overtravels exceeds a predeterminable period of time; and, in a third step, it is finally determined that the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine is fluctuating if this time distance is less than the predetermined period of time. The method of the invention permits the rotational speed fluctuations of an internal combustion engine to be detected reliably while at the same time requiring little storage space and little computing time when realized by means of a computer.

  • Patent number: 4751633
Abstract: To prevent change of data in a non-volatile programmable, ready-only memory (25) forming, together with a microprocessor (23) a control unit, for example for an automotive vehicle, while permitting programming of the memory from an external programming unit (P, 1), an interface (3, 11, 12) is provided through which a release-enable bus (13) also passes, data being transmitted in accordance with a predetermined characteristic--even or odd parity--, the parity correctness being checked. If the parity is correct, an "enter" signal is provided on the release-enable bus for storing the data; if not, retransmission is attempted for a predetermined number of time, and if it cannot be correctly effected, a malfunction indication output signal is generated.

  • Patent number: 4749922
Abstract: A control circuit for an electric motor is proposed, whose rate of rotation and rotational direction depends on a control signal (Ue) at the input terminal (10). The rotational direction is given by means of a determined control signal level being exceeded or fallen short of. The rate of rotation is controlled by means of a pulse width modulation of the control signal (Ue). There is a nonlinear relationship between the change in the pulse duty factor of the pulse width modulation and the control signal. The mean adjusting speed of an actuating motor accordingly adapts to the control deviation signal of an actuating control.

  • Patent number: 4748508
Abstract: Dynamic beam current reserve margin in television camera tubes necessary for the neutralizing of bright spots, which is accumulated on the camera tube signal electrode during a multiplicity of successive picture field periods after which a signal electrode is scanned by the electron beam during several field periods in interlaced line pattern and the video signal level of the third field is measured. In this measurement, the signal level is below a first predetermined threshold value, the dynamic beam current reserve is sufficient and the procedure is terminated. The threshold is reached or exceeded, the dynamic rise of the beam current is gradually magnified and further cycles of charge and scanning are performed, this time with measurement of the video signal during the second field.

  • Patent number: 4747760
Abstract: A pump for feed-pumps of fuel injection systems for internal combustion engines having a manually actuatable element, which operates counter to the force of a restoring spring to effect an inward stroke of a piston which includes a valve tappet thereon that pushes open a ball valve to the fuel feeding system of a feed pump. In operation, a medium is positively displaced from a work chamber into the feeding system. Upon an automatic return stroke of the piston, a medium is aspirated from the fuel feeding system of the feed pump into the work cylinder and at the end of the return stroke the ball valve closes automatically. In its position of repose, the pump does not require its piston to be locked in place, and pressure impacts of the feed pump are prevented from reaching the piston.
