Abstract: It is proposed that a drive tappet of a pump piston be provided with an integrated hydraulic supply onset adjusting device. This device includes an adjusting piston, which is guided in a work cylinder and is joined to the piston base of the pump piston, and a pressure chamber. The delivery of the control fluid pumped into the pressure chamber is effected via a delivery conduit discharging into the cylinder bore and a connecting conduit extending inside the pump piston and leading to the pressure chamber. By means of the control point located at the discharge point of the delivery conduit, relatively high control pressures can be fed into the system without relatively large leakage losses. The apparatus is usable in all piston-type supply pumps in which a control face on the pump piston, in cooperation with the control opening in the cylinder bore, determines the onset of supply.
Abstract: The proposed vehicle brake system includes a brake fluid pressure device embodied as a brake booster, front wheel brakes rear wheel brakes and an anti-skid apparatus having valves for maintaining, reducing and increasing brake pressure. One of the brake pressure maintenance valves is associated with the rear wheel brakes and is further developed into a valve combination, which additionally includes a brake pressure regulating valve. The valve combination includes only one valve seat and one valve element, which serves both for keeping braking pressure constant in the anti-skid situation and to limit the rear wheel braking pressures during braking. The valve element is controlled on one side by a control piston acted upon by brake pressure and on the other by an electromagnet.
Abstract: A device that serves to actuate a throttle valve. The actuating device includes an electric drive motor and a step-down gear driven by the motor; an output shaft of the step-down gear is operatively connected to a throttle valve shaft which controls the throttle valve. The actuating device is compact in structure as well as versatile in use, even with various sizes of throttle valve, the step-down gear is embodied as a planetary gear having its output shaft provided with a gear wheel, which is operatively connected via a toothed belt with a second gear wheel, disposed on the throttle valve shaft. The motor is controlled by a control means assembled in the same housing as the motor and the throttle valve.

Abstract: A liquid chamber (3) arranged in the bottom of the socket cavity (2) is latitudinally sealed by the engaging ball head (4) of the femoral prosthesis shaft. The ball head (4) of the hip joint prosthesis is supported hydrostatically by the liquid chamber (3) filled with synovia and sealed by the ball head following a deformation of the elastic sealing edge (5). By means of the hydrostatic support, the friction moment increases only a little when the load becomes higher and approaches a constant value which is considerably lower than in conventional hip joint sockets.
Abstract: A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines, in particular having a plurality of linearly aligned pump elements, the pump injection onset is determined by one control slide per pump element in which the control slide is axially displaceable on the pump plunger and by a control of relief conduits of the pump work chambers. The control slide is actuated via a torque shaft in that a respective adjusting bolt of a straddling element joined to the torque shaft engages a cross groove of the control slide. The adjusting bolt has a cylindrical stud portion and a slide shoe supported thereon, and the slide shoe is secured against axial displacement by means of a head of the adjusting bolt.

Abstract: This invention features a new computer system architecture comprising a variable comparison of input data with programmable Template data. The system has the capability to provide an "almost" condition, which is a similarity match between a near or close actual data and the "exact" data stored in template memory. Different degree levels of "almost" are possible with the inventive system.
Abstract: A fuel injection pump, capable of providing a preliminary fuel injection and a main fuel injection, includes a pump piston movable in a housing to define a pump working chamber which is connected with a fuel injection valve during the pumping stroke of the piston. The working chamber is relieved by the valve-closing member of the pressure valve. A magnetic valve which controls the function of the pressure-closing member is provided in the pump. An opening pressure of the pressure valve is greater than that of the fuel injection valve so that the preliminary injection is obtained with the initially open magnetic valve whereas the duration of the main fuel injection is controlled by the closed magnetic valve.
Abstract: In a fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines having at least one pump piston defining a pump work chamber and set into reciprocating motion by a cam drive for executing an intake stroke and a supply stroke, and having an electrical switching valve controlling the duration of supply and disposed in a relief line leading from the pump work chamber to a pump interior, a non-return valve having an opening direction toward the pump work chamber is disposed in a fuel inflow line connecting the pump interior with the pump work chamber in order to attain an emergency stoppage of the engine in the event the switching valve malfunctions. The valve element of the non-return valve is acted upon on one side by a valve closing spring and on the other by a fuel-filled control chamber, with which the valve element is locked in its closing position during the closed position of the switching valve.
Abstract: To permit loose and relaxed position of the hand of a patient over a vasometric apparatus, the apparatus is formed in the shape of a hollow domed housing within which a volume pulse sensor (30) is located, retained with resiliently adjustable bias force such that the sensing surface (33) of the volume pulse sensor extends just slightly above the outer surface of the domed housing. The spring force with which the sensor engages a finger (45) of the patient is adjustable by an externally adjustable disk or wheel (37).

Abstract: An arrangement is disclosed for controlling the metering of fuel to an internal combustion engine. The control can be open-loop and/or closed-loop and the amount of fuel metered to the engine is limited by means of a full-load limiter dependent on at least the rotational speed of the engine. The arrangement further includes a substitute full-load limiter for limiting the amount of fuel metered to the engine. It is particularly advantageous for the substitute full-load limiter to operate in dependence on the engine temperature and/or the fuel temperature, with a linear function of these parameters representing a further embodiment of the invention. Block diagrams of the arrangement of the invention and characteristic fields explain its mode of operation.
Abstract: A easily manufactured unitary valve and filter assembly of compact design allows replacement of the installed particulate filter without requiring difficult dissasembly. A cylindrical mesh filter is contained in a capped receptacle in the assembly and is accessible by removal of the cap. The shut off valve is operable to stop fluid flow while the filter is withdrawn from its receptacle in the assembly to be cleaned or replaced.
Abstract: An electric shaver wherein the motor housing carries a separable frame for confinement of the cutter and the frame carries a separable casing for an apertured foil which overlies the cutter in assembled condition of the shaver. The frame has a window which is adjacent one side of the cutter and serves for insertion of the casing so that the latter can be attached to or detached form the frame only when the frame is separated from the motor housing. The coupling between the frame and the casing has complementary male and female coupling elements which are designed to confine the casing to movements at right angles to the longitudinal direction of the motor housing. The latter carries a reciprocable slide for a trimmer which can be moved to several positions with reference to the apex of the foil but remains in the general plane of the slide.
