    Abstract: A valve control arrangement for controlling closing and opening time of a valve actuatable by a valve control cam of a cam shaft via an axially displaceable valve plunger, in a displacement piston-internal combustion engine, the valve control arrangement comprises a stroke transmitting chamber between the valve control cam and the valve plunger and arranged to be filled with a working medium, a controllable opening for supplying the pressure medium into the stroke transmitting chamber and withdrawing the pressure medium from the latter so as to change an axial dimension of the stroke transmitting chamber between the valve control cam and the valve plunger, device for controlling the opening so that a stroke of the valve control cam which acts with the beginning of a valve opening adjusts the opening to an unloading cross-section so that to a closing point of time of the valve, a partial quantity of the pressure medium can flow out of the stroke transmitting chamber.

    Abstract: A valve assembly for an anti-skid brake system has at least two valves disposed parallel to one another. Both valves are embodied in the manner of check valves having closing springs. To open the valves, there is an armature displaceable by an electromagnet; the armature opens the first valve automatically via a rigid opening tappet and opens the second valve, via another opening tappet and a spring associated with it, only when a pressure urging the second valve in the closing direction does not exceed a preselected pressure difference relative to an armature chamber. This has the advantage that despite the high pressure drop, the quantity of pressure fluid per unit of time that flows through the valve assembly does not exceed a preselected threashold value in the anti-skid regulation situation; on the other hand, without anti-skid operation, a rapid buildup of brake pressure is possible by furnishing a larger flow cross section.

    Abstract: A wiping device for wiping cover plates of the headlights of motor vehicles includes a wiping arm carrying a wiper blade and swingable over the cover plate being wiped, and a drive shaft which is releasably connected to the wiping arm by means of an adapter. The wiping arm is comprised of two halves hinged to each other by a hinge the axis of which extends in a plane parallel to the cover plate being wiped. A spring is arranged between two hingeable halves of the wiping arm. The wiping device can be completely moved out from the path of light beams emitted by the headlight.

    Abstract: A scale wherein a platform is mounted on and is movable and/or deformable with reference to a base in response to the application of a load, such as the weight of a person standing on the platform. A strain gauge is mounted on a plate-like carrier on the base or directly at the underside of the platform, and its resistor is a thick film conductor whose resistance changes proportionally with the magnitude of the load which is applied to the platform. Such change of resistance is used to change the position of a pointer with reference to a scale which is calibrated to indicate the magnitude of the applied load.

    Abstract: A discharge system is proposed which serves to introduce volatilized fuel into an intake tube of an internal combustion engine. The discharge system includes a discharge regulation valve, which on one side is located at an outlet line of an absorber element that emits volatilized fuel and on the other side is located at an outflow line which leads to the intake tube downstream of a throttle device. The discharge regulation valve includes a bottom portion and a cover between which one end of a leaf spring is firmly fastened. The other end of the leaf spring is loosely guided in a gap between the bottom portion and the cover. An armature is joined to the leaf spring and a valve closing body is secured to the armature remote from the leaf spring. A core is secured on a magnet housing disposed in the bottom portion and has a through conduit, which at one end terminates at a valve seat.

    Abstract: A pressure sensing device utilizing force transducer ink comprises a resistive region deposited between a first and a second conducting region on a first insulating material, the resistive region electrically coupling the two conducting regions. On a second insulating material, a conducting region is deposited and a layer of force transducer ink is deposited over the conducting region. The two insulating materials are positioned in such a manner that the pressure transducer ink is in contact with the resistive region and separates the resistive and coupled conducting regions from the conducting region. A determination of the force applied to this configuration can be made by measuring the resistance between the first and second conducting regions. According to a second embodiment, a second resistive region and coupled conducting regions replace the conducting region on the second insulating material.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for jacking basement walls which have moved out of alignment due to pressure from outside the wall. The apparatus includes a brace attached at the bottom by a bracket adjacent the wall to be jacked. The brace is then set vertically against the wall. A telescoping beam is attached to the floor a short distance from the wall, so that the beam is positioned upright, parallel to the brace. In one embodiment the upper end of the beam is extended and attached to the floor joists overhead in the basement. In another embodiment the upper end of the beam is secured to the lower surface on which the wall rests. Any suitable jack assembly is then slidably attached between the beam and the brace. The jack assembly is then positioned at the proper point and used to move the wall back into its proper place. Finally the top of the brace is anchored so as to prevent the wall from moving back out of position.

    Abstract: A lightweight ball-and-socket joint that is for instance capable of being assembled by a robot. The ball-and-socket joint has a ball head, a CIRCLIP and an outer structural part forming a socket, in which there is a circumferential groove the bottom of which forms a support face for the circlip. The support face is substantially defined by a hollow cone and surrounds the CIRCLIP like a jacket, and a flare angle of the support face opens toward the center of the ball head. The CIRCLIP presses with radial bias against the support face and therefore migrates in the direction of its largest diameter and hence toward the center of the ball head until it rests thereon.

    Abstract: A full-frame memory for television signals is filled while the tape transport speed is reduced to a small fraction of its normal speed while a selected of the head-wheel of a recorder-reproducer first records a segment of a frame recorded in one oblique track, then is switched to reproduction that reads the track just recorded. In the next frame a second segment is similarly recorded, reproduced and stored for the second frame, and so on. After a complete set of segments are put in memory a complete composite picture can be reproduced therefrom and of course the content of the memory can be displayed in the intervals between the recording of segments. A pixel error detector is used both for displaying errors by setting all recognizably faulty pixels to picture black and also counting the number of recognizably defective pixels per segment.

The slits on conduits come in turn into communication with a control opening during the supply stroke of the pump piston via which opening the pump work chamber can be relieved whenever in the course of the pump piston stroke movement a second outlet opening of a relief conduit extending in the pump piston and communicating with the pump work chamber, comes into communication with the annular groove.

In this device, an injection duration signal is utilized as a load signal. While the injection onset signal can be satisfactorily detected via the opening speed, the hysteresis signal is efficaciously utilized to detect the signal for the end of injection. The proposed solution makes it possible to detect and regulate both the injection onset and the fuel quantity, using only a single transducer in the injection valve, on or in the fuel line, or on the pumping element, and this load signal is available for generalized uses in the control device. It is furthermore possible to obtain an rpm signal on the basis of the signal for injection onset and/or end, and to process it further.

    Abstract: To prevent slipping or spinning of a driven wheel which, selectively, can be braked or supplied with reduced torque from a vehicle engine, a reference speed is determined against which slipping or tendency to slip is measured. The reference value for slip measuring, derived from non-driven or rolling wheels, is tested for physically impossible conditions and, if such physically impossible conditions obtain, they are disregarded when determining slipping or tendency to slip. Proper speed values can be stored, utilized for subsequent measurement, directly or modified, which may also be made speed dependent, or dependent on differences between the speeds of two rolling wheels.
