  • Patent number: 4759152
Abstract: An eccentric grinder includes a motor-driven shaft, an eccentric drive connected to the shaft to impart to a grinding disc one mode of grinding motion and a rolling drive including friction or toothed crowns on the grinding disc and the housing cooperating with each other to impart to the grinding disc another mode of grinding motion. The grinder is provided with a ring carrying two toothed crowns at the opposite edges thereof and releasably insertable into a recess formed in a ring-shaped element fixed to the housing of the grinder so that one mode of grinding can be easily changed to the other mode of grinding.

  • Patent number: 4760454
Abstract: With the signal electrode of a camera tube uniformly illuminated by diffuse light, scanning of the signal electrode by the electron beam is caused to leave unaffected certain lines or parts of lines which are scanned in the next frame. This may be done by blanking the beam out for a field, a line or part of a line in every two frames, or by shifting the lines of one field to superimpose them on those of the other field for a corresponding interval in every two frames. The video signal occurring when a previously unscanned line or line portion is first scanned is measured and compared with the previous measured value, in response to which the setting of the focussing control is shifted towards a smaller beam spot for a renewed measurement. When the signal rises to a higher magnitude, which would approximate twice the video signal of a normal scan, in the ideal case, the setting procedure is complete.

  • Patent number: 4757855
Abstract: A foundry machine for forming molds or cores from a molding material such as sand provides completely automated loading and unloading of tooling elements (24). The tool elements (24) comprising a sand magazine (36), blow plate (34), combined gassing manifold and top ejector unit (32), upper mold box (30), lower mold box (28) and bottom stool (26) are automatically transferred, in stacked, separable relationship, by tracks (40) to a vertically displaceable, work table. Vertical displacement of the work table (42) sequentially elevates the tooling elements (24) to positions within a mainframe (10) where automatically operated clamping means secure the appropriate tooling elements (24) in respective operating positions. The gassing manifold (32) includes an ejector pin assembly (274, 280) mounted therewithin.

  • Patent number: 4756885
Abstract: A combination of a measuring sensor and protector having a measuring sensor with a housing and having an elongated cup-like protective pipe engaged with the housing. The pipe has a bottom having a convex shape with an inlet opening. The pipe also has at least one outlet opening spaced away from the bottom. A deflector extends inward from the pipe at an acute angle relative to a longitudinal axis of the pipe and away from the bottom so that when gas flows longitudinally within the pipe from the inlet opening, the gas is deflected by the deflector to flow around the deflector to the at least one outlet opening. The bottom also has a boss-like bulging portion projecting outward to form the inlet opening so as to reduce contamination of the measuring element by preventing solid particles in the gas from entering inside the pipe.

  • Patent number: 4754575
Abstract: The eccentric grinder with an eccentric drive and a drive, which provides a rolling motion of two enagageable gear toothings, has gear toothings provided on the grinding disk and on the housing, respectively of the eccentric grinder. Some toothings are concentrical to the drive shaft, while the toothing on the grinding disk is eccentrically supported relative to the drive shaft. The grinder has at least three different grinding disks, of which one has the gear toothing engageable with one of the toothings on the housing and thus can carry out, due to the operation of the shaft, a predetermined grinding motion. The second grinding disk has a toothing for engaging with another toothing provided on the housing, whereby another grinding motion is obtained. The third grinding disk has no toothing and its grinding motion is obtained from the eccentric drive only and adjusted to a counter pressure force.

  • Patent number: 4755698
Abstract: Operating noise of a dynamo electric machine, and particularly a three-phase vehicular-type alternator, can be reduced by changing the reluctance or permeability of the magnetic path between rotor and stator of adjacent stator teeth by splitting the stator teeth to introduce additional radially extending gaps in the stator teeth or by distributing, non-uniformly or uniformly, ferromagnetic slot closers about the circumference of the stator slots while leaving, adjacent a stator slot with a magnetic closer, open stator slots or slots covered only with non-magnetic slot cover elements, such as treated paper, cardboard, or the like.

  • Patent number: 4755222
Abstract: Sinter alloys based on high-speed steel are proposed, which can be used for producing wearing parts in machinery and vehicle contruction. The sinter alloys comprise a mixture of a powder of a high-speed steel and an unalloyed or a low-alloy iron powder. While the high-speed steel powder forms liquid phases upon sintering, the mixture components can be drawn from either the group of iron alloys that do not form liquid phases or the group of iron alloys that do form liquid phases. The proposed alloys cannot be sintered to the density of the high-speed steels, nor do they quite attain the strength values of such steels, but in the cases where these limit values for strength are not critical they have the decisive advantage that they can be sintered without deformation in standard protective gas furnaces lacking extreme temperature constancy and that they furthermore exhibit only very slight shrinkage.

  • Patent number: 4755919
Abstract: The reflection surface of a rectangular reflector for a lower beam headlamp is composed of four sectors delimited by transition lines. Two diametrically opposed left and right sectors (11, 12) form a part of a paraboloid projecting a hot light spot. The diametrically opposed upper and lower sectors (13, 14) are part of a paraboloid-ellipsoid defining a parabola in its vertical center section and an ellipsis in its horizontal center section. The latter sectors project a light spot having a broad light dispersion and an increased front field illumination. The reflected light beam corresponds substantially to a dimmed lower light beam to be projected on the road so that a light dispersing glass of the headlamp does not require any optical means for light beam adjustment.

  • Patent number: 4753053
Abstract: A support anchor is provided for anchoring a castable or plastic refractory material to a processing vessel wall. The support anchor of the present invention includes a flat center member portion and portions integrally formed with and extending transversely with respect to each end of the center member. Attachment members are formed at an inner edge of the support body so that the support body is mounted at a spaced position from the vessel wall. Plural openings are formed in the support body to allow flow of refractory material during installation to aid in at least partial bonding of the installed refractory and the support anchor. Anchoring members are mounted adjacent the openings in the support body to provide anchoring support submerged within the installed refractory material.
