  • Patent number: 4592321
Abstract: A controller (13) provides control signals to an engine (E) to control its idling speed. To provide for additional fuel under special operating conditions--e.g. low engine temperature, starting conditions, placement of a sudden load such as connection of an air-conditioner or the like--a modification signal is generated in signal generators (17, 18, 19 . . . 19n) which signals are introduced into the path of the signals from the idle or command function generator (11) to a positioning element (15) which controls fuel supply to the engine. The engine itself can provide at least some of the signals to the function generators, for example by engine temperature transducers (ETt); engine speed transducers (ETn), to provide engine temperature signals. Starting can be sensed by sensing both engine speed and temperature, and/or operation of the starting switch.

  • Patent number: 4592320
Abstract: A method and a device for an adaptive forward feeding of a disturbance correcting signal in a regulator is based on storing an output signal from the regulator at a first time point t.sub.0 corresponding to the occurrence of a disturbance. At a later time point t.sub.1 when the disturbance has been settled by the regulator, a second output signal from the regulator indicative of the final integration level is compared with a stored signal and the difference signal is processed and combined with a constant disturbance correcting signal, thus producing another an adapted disturbance correcting signal which minimizes the deviation from a desired magnitude and at the input of the regulator. The processing of the adaptive correction signal at the output of the comparator is preferably made by an integration according to a preset formula of a plurality of differences produced from a plurality of forward switching actions before the second time point t.sub.1.

  • Patent number: 4589706
Abstract: A vehicle brake system including a brake force booster, controllable a brake pedal, for actuating a main brake cylinder in order to supply wheel brake cylinders with braking pressure for service braking operations and also includes brake pressure control valves, which direct braking pressures into individual wheel brake cylinders if there is a danger that the wheels will lock during braking. To this end, pressure is supplied to the brake pressure control valves from the brake force booster via controlled valves. In order to be able to reduce drive slip as well, the controlled valves are embodied as a switchover valve, so that pressure can be directed to the brake pressure control valves directly from a pressure supply container bypassing the brake force booster. The vehicle brake system is inexpensively further embodied for reducing drive slip by modifying the control valves.

  • Patent number: 4589391
Abstract: A device is proposed for controlling the injection start to a set-point value dependent on operating parameters, in which the period of time between the appearance of an injection start signal and a reference marking (for instance, a top-dead-center signal) is counted out and the result of counting is compared with the set-point value. To avoid malfunctioning, the triggering of the counting process is possible in only one, predetermined crankshaft angle range. Various values are provided for the counting-out frequency. In the exemplary embodiment they are within the range between 50 and 200 kHz. In case of failure, a control of injection onset is effected, and as needed, a limitation of the fuel quantity as well--for instance to 70% of the respectively determined quantity.
