Abstract: A method and a device for generating images in a motor vehicle are provided. An infrared-sensitive camera generates images of the surroundings of the motor vehicle. An emission source emitting in the near infrared spectral region is used for the pulsed illumination of sub-ranges of the image recording region of the camera. The camera generates the images by recording partial image regions. To record the partial image regions, a synchronization in time is carried out with the pulsed illumination of the sub-range including at least the partial image region. In the preferred exemplary embodiment, the recording of partial image regions of an infrared-sensitive CMOS camera is synchronized in time with a laser diode array emitting in the near infrared spectral region.

Abstract: The invention relates to a starter device (1) for starting internal combustion engines, comprising an electromagnetic toe-in mechanism which is used to displace an axially displaceable pinion shaft (5), starter pinions (6) which are arranged in the front thereof, in addition to a start-stop mechanism which is embodied in such a manner that in a stop phase of the internal combustion engine, even when the internal combustion engine is stopped, said start-stop mechanism provokes a positioned state of the toe-in mechanism, such that during a subsequent starting of the internal combustion engine, the starter pinion (6) is already arranged in an advanced position, enabling power loss to be reduced. This is achieved by a maintaining mechanism (15) which maintains the electromagnetic toe-in mechanism in the advanced position and in a currentless manner during and/or after the stop phase.
Abstract: A method compensates for errors in an output signal of a comparator based/zero crossing based circuit. The method includes generating with a comparator based/zero crossing based switched capacitor circuit a first output signal with an input signal, generating with the comparator based/zero crossing based switched capacitor circuit a second output signal with the input signal of an opposite polarity, and subtracting the second output signal from the first output signal to generate a final output signal for the comparator based/zero crossing based switched capacitor circuit.

Abstract: A device for impacting a fastener in one embodiment includes a lever arm pivotable between a first position whereat a flywheel is spaced apart from a drive mechanism and a second position whereat the flywheel can contact the drive mechanism, a lever arm solenoid for pivoting the lever arm between the first position and the second position, a drive mechanism sensor for generating a position signal indicative of the position of the drive mechanism, a timer for generating a timing signal, a memory including program instructions, and a processor operably connected to the memory for executing the program instructions to (i) energize the solenoid to pivot the lever arm to the second position, (ii) de-energize the solenoid based upon the position signal, and (iii) de-energize the solenoid based upon the timing signal.
Abstract: A vehicle wheel assembly includes a vehicle wheel, a disc brake rotor, and a rotatable hub in which the rotor is securely clamped to the hub independently of the clamping of the wheel to the hub providing a desirable rigid coupling of the rotor and wheel without any physical contact between the wheel and rotor. The hub functions as an intermediate member for supporting both the rotor and the wheel while precluding direct contact therebetween to reduce any rotor deformation which might be induced by the more conventional technique of clamping of the rotor between the wheel and the hub.
Abstract: A battery-operated screwdriver has a housing with a handle, a rechargeable battery, charge contacts for charging the battery on a charger shell having at least one detachably mounted bit holder for storing tool inserts of the battery-operated screwdriver in captive fashion, so that the battery-operated screwdriver is placeable on the charger shell and a charging mode is produced automatically, and a charger shell for a battery-operated screwdriver has at least one detachable mountable bit holder configured to receive a plurality of bits which in operation are insertable in communication with the battery-operated screwdriver.
Abstract: A method for regulating the state of charge of an energy accumulator in a vehicle having a hybrid drive unit, a motor vehicle in particular, including an internal combustion engine and at least one electrical machine which can be coupled or are coupled to a power train of the vehicle. It is provided that a state of charge of the energy accumulator is regulated by a charge controller as a function of the vehicle's velocity.
Abstract: Brake installation consisting of a master cylinder associated with a brake booster furnished with a motor driving an actuator piston and acting on the primary piston of the master cylinder by means of a reaction disk against which the piston rests. For a safety operation, the hydraulic actuator connected to the control rod actuated by the brake pedal rests on the rear face of the reaction disk. The actuator piston is combined with an auxiliary piston in order to interact with the reaction disk and it is guided by its sleeve-shaped portion in a bore of the body of the brake booster. An adapting shim is supported by the auxiliary piston in order to receive as a support the end of a rear rod, secured to the primary piston of the master cylinder. The thickness of the assembly formed by the adapting shim and the auxiliary piston is defined on mounting of the master cylinder and of the brake booster as a function of the free travel measured previously.
