Abstract: Disclosed is a process for imparting coloration of good light fastness to a substrate comprising or consisting of homo- and co-polymers of acrylonitrile or of dicyanoethylene, or acid modified synthetic polyamide or polyester, which process comprises mass dyeing, dyeing or printing such substrate, employing, as dyestuff, a compound or mixture of compounds of formula I, ##STR1## wherein either R is hydrogen, or a straight or branched chain C.sub.1--8 alkyl radical, unsubstituted or mono-substituted by OH, CN, Cl, Br, CONH.sub.2, C.sub.1--4 -alkoxy, phenyl, phenoxy, --O--CO--R.sub.5 or --CO--O--R.sub.5,and R.sub.1 is a straight or branched chain C.sub.1--8 alkyl radical, unsubstituted or mono-substituted by OH, CN, Cl, Br, --CONH.sub.2, C.sub.1--4 alkoxy, phenyl, phenoxy, --O--CO--R.sub.5 or --CO--O--R.sub.5 ; or phenyl, unsubstituted or monosubstituted by halogen, C.sub.1--4 alkyl or C.sub.1--4 alkoxy,or R and R.sub.
Abstract: Carbalkoxy-phenyl (or tolyl)-dialkyl-or alkyl-phenyl-sulfonium salts, e.g. p-(.alpha.-carbethoxy) tolyl-n-octadecyl-phenyl sulfonium tetrafluoroborate, are useful as pharmaceuticals. The compounds are obtainable by reaction of a carbalkoxy-phenyl (or-tolyl)-dialkyl-or-alkyl-phenyl-sulfide with an alkylhalide in the presence of a metal salt, e.g. silver tetrafluoroborate.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an after-dyeing treatment process for synthetic/cellulosic fibre mixed substrates which have been dyed with at least one disperse and at least one reactive dye in which after fixation, the dyed or printed substrate is reductively treated at a neutral to alkaline pH with an aqueous solution containing reducing agent, whereby non-bound disperse dyestuff is decomposed such that it does not re-build up on the substrate whilst the fixed reactive dyestuff remains substantially unaffected.

Abstract: The present invention provides a process for dyeing an anionic dyeable substrate with reserve and/or multicolored effects, which process comprises(1) impregnating the substrate with a dyeing liquor containing an anionic dye having a K'-value.gtoreq.5(2) directly thereafter applying locally to the substrate a liquor or paste containing an alkoxylated fatty amine or polyamine having affinity for anionic dyes with a K'value.gtoreq.5 and optionally a disperse dye and/or an anionic dye or an anionic optical brightening agent with the proviso that the anionic dye or optical brightening agent has a K-value at least one unit lower than the K'value of the anionic dye used in step (1), and(3) subsequently submitting the substrate to a heat treatment to effect fixation of the dye(s) and, if used, optical brightening agent.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for producing a non-woven fabric comprising impregnating a non-woven fibrous web with an aqueous binding agent dispersion containing, as coagulation agent, a polyurethane having a weight average molecular weight of from 500 to 20,000 which is the reaction product of(i) a polyoxyalkylated aliphatic amine containing d nitrogen atoms, where d is 1 to 5, and where d is greater than 1, each nitrogen atom is connected with the next by a (C.sub.2-4) alkylene moiety and from d+1 to d+2 polyoxy(C.sub.2-4)alkylene units, with the proviso that the molecule contains C.sub.2 alkyleneoxy units and C.sub.3 and/or C.sub.4 alkyleneoxy units with the C.sub.3 and/or C.sub.4 units forming the majority of alkyleneoxy units, and(ii) from 0.1 mols to 2 mols per mol of (i) but not exceeding the stoichiometric amount of a polyisocyanate,which product is optionally in quaternized form and, is present in an amount of from 0.
