  • Publication number: 20130045750
Abstract: A wireless localization technology using efficient multilateration in a wireless sensor network is disclosed. After calculating estimated distances from each of at least three reference nodes to a blind node using received signal strength of wireless signals that the at least three reference nodes received from the blind node, the estimated location of the blind node is obtained through multilateration using the calculated estimated distances. To correct error in the estimated location, the estimated distances are used, and the error correction direction and error correction distance for the estimated location are calculated by applying a largest weight to the reference node closest to the estimated location. The error of the estimated location is corrected by move the estimated location of the blind node by the calculated error correction direction and error correction distance. Calculation for the error correction is very simple and fast.

  • Publication number: 20130034177
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for channel estimation using a dedicated pilot signal in an OFDM-based communication system with multi-antenna transmission techniques. The receiver estimates the statistical characteristics of a virtual channel generated by beamforming by exploiting the statistical characteristics of common pilot channel, determines the optimum dedicated pilot pattern, and estimates the channel from dedicated pilot signal transmitted in an optimum pattern by means of AMMSE interpolation. The invention minimizes the channel estimation error by exploiting the statistical characteristics of the virtual channel, and optimally determines the dedicated pilot pattern according to the operation environment to maximize the transmission performance in terms of the pilot signaling overhead and the channel estimation error. In particular, the invention is very effective in low signal-to-interference plus noise power ratio (SINR) operation environments.

  • Publication number: 20130011845
Abstract: The present invention relates to a miRNA regulating the insulin signaling pathway, and to a method for screening a material for controlling the action of a target gene thereof, and particularly, to a method for screening a material for controlling the action of USH or FOG2, a target gene of miR-8 or miR-200 miRNA for promoting cell growth. The present inventors discovered miR-8, a conserved miRNA for regulating the body of a fruit fly by targeting u-shaped material (USH) in the fat cells of Drosophila. It was also confirmed that a target gene of miR-200, a human homologous gene of Drosophila miR-8 miRNA, is FOG2. It was found that Drosophila miR-8 and USH are also conserved in mammals, and FOG2, a human homologous gene of USH, directly binds to a regulating subunit of PI3K and functions. It was confirmed that when the expression of miR-200 is inhibited or FOG2 is expressed in a human cancer cell line, the activity of PI3K, which promotes cell growth, is decreased.
