Abstract: A web protection system for a sink having at least first and second sink basins separated by a partition wall with the partition wall having an upper horizontal surface. The system includes an elongated web protector having a U-shaped cross-section which fits over and protects the partition wall. A colander having a pocket to hang over the partition wall is also provided. The colander can be used with the web protector or a separate adapter to fit properly over the partition wall.

Abstract: An air handling unit has a fan wheel in offset placement and a plenum configuration preventing line of sight noise transmission into the air system supplied by the air handling unit. The fan wheel is so placed and the plenum configuration optimized so as to obtain the benefit of an eddy current stabilizer flow from the fan wheel, which provides a further improvement in the acoustic performance of the air handling unit.

Abstract: The disadvantages of existing cover surrounds for wall-mounted bathroom fittings are avoided by the invention by virtue of the fact that the cover surround comprises an inner supporting plate (10) fastened to the wall (7) and an outer cover plate (11). The inner supporting plate (10) is preferably designed to be held in place by fixation means (13), while the outer cover plate (11) can be clipped over the inner supporting plate (10), thus concealing the fixation means (13) used to fasten the supporting plate (10).

Abstract: A relay valve arrangement useful in an ABS system comprises a relay valve, a source of control pressure, a control pressure circuit, a control chamber which receives the control pressure from the control pressure circuit and thereby determines the configuration of the relay valve, a control valve through which the control pressure is delivered to the control chamber, and a return valve connecting the control chamber to the control pressure circuit so as to by-pass the control valve to deaerate the control chamber when the control pressure in the control chamber is greater than the control pressure in the control pressure circuit. The control valve includes a solenoid-actuated inlet valve having an armature, and a solenoid-actuated outlet valve. The return valve is designed so that at least part of it constitutes an armature support for the armature of the solenoid-actuated inlet valve and is coaxial with this armature.

Abstract: An apparatus and method of manufacturing a trim strip with an outer heat settable layer bonded to a core. The method includes heating a liquid heat settable material to be bonded to a core having a desired configuration at very low pressures to form a trim strip.

Abstract: A bath and shower device with a bathtub (1) and a related shower partition (4) attached to a wall (2) above an upper edge (3) of the bathtub (1), the bathtub (1) having a bottom (5) with a planar base (6) and the shower partition (4) having several segments (7) that are hinged to one another so as to be able to swing and fold from an unfolded shower position, forming a shower stall, into a rest position, folded against the wall (2), freeing bathtub (1), and vice versa.The bath and shower device is improved with regard to shower and safety engineering in that base (6) of the bathtub (1) , seen in the longitudinal direction of bathtub (1), is placed approximately in the center of bottom (5).

Abstract: A portable, refrigerant recycle/recovery/charging system comprising: a storage tank; a low pressure refrigeration system; and a housing. The housing includes liquid, vapor, pump and condenser sections. The liquid section has a liquid inlet, a liquid outlet and a liquid conduit connecting the liquid inlet and the liquid outlet where the liquid conduit includes a liquid flow control device and a liquid condition sensing device. The vapor section has a vapor inlet, a vapor outlet, and a vapor conduit connecting the vapor inlet and the vapor outlet where the vapor conduit includes a vapor flow control device and a vapor condition sensing device. The pump section has a pump inlet, a pump outlet, and a pump conduit connecting the pump inlet and the pump outlet where the pump conduit includes a pump. The condensing section has a condensing inlet, a condensing outlet, and a condensing conduit connecting the condensing inlet and the condensing outlet where the condensing conduit includes a condenser.

Abstract: The subject invention relates to a coated reinforcement material comprising a Si-containing reinforcement having a coating of the general formula:Al.sub.x O.sub.y N.sub.zwhereinx is up to about 60 atomic % of the coating;y is from about 20 atomic % to about 55 atomic % of the coating; andz is from about 5 atomic % to about 45 atomic % of the coating, with the proviso that x+y+z=100.The invention further relates to a high strength, high temperature performance composite comprising a Si-containing reinforcement material having a coating comprising aluminum, oxygen and nitrogen, said coated reinforcement material in combination with a matrix material.

Abstract: A waist belt for an automotive vehicle has a channel member secured to a vertically extending door skin. The channel member has vertically open slots. A belt weatherstrip has a core that is at least partially covered with an elastomeric material. This core has a plurality of legs which extend downwardly into the slots thereby maintaining the weatherstrip in a held relationship with respect to the waist belt.

Abstract: A multi-ply form or label which utilizes a clean release adhesive for securing one or more of the plies together is provided. Different embodiments provide a laminated postal card or mailer having a return envelope or a multi-ply product label. In all of these embodiments of the invention, the plies of the label, postal card, or form are secured together in a manner which withstands rough handling and minimizes lost or torn plies. The various embodiments of the invention also include both preprinted information as well as the capability to record variable information on more than one ply in a single printing pass.

Abstract: An apparatus and method of manufacturing a trim strip with an outer heat settable molding bonded to a base with an adhesive attaching member. The method includes heating a liquid heat settable material to be bonded to a hard base with an adhesive member at very low pressures to form a trim strip. The trim strip includes a hollow cavity which is injected with liquid foam to provide a foam core.

Abstract: A process for making melamine-formaldehyde microcapsules in an aqueous solution containing a high concentration of a water miscible or water soluble organic solvent is provided. The aqueous solution is prepared and a water insoluble melamine-formaldehyde pre-condensate is dissolved therein by adjusting the temperature and organic solvent concentration of the aqueous solution such that the melamine-formaldehyde pre-condensate is barely soluble therein. A substance to be encapsulated, preferably an oily solution containing a dyestuff precursor, is dispersed into the aqueous solution to form an emulsion, the melamine-formaldehyde pre-condensate being insoluble in the substance to be encapsulated.

Abstract: An engine compartment cover seal strip has a retention mechanism, securing mechanism, bulb seal and lip flange seal. The retention mechanism maintains the seal strip onto the edge of an engine compartment cover. The securement mechanism retains a member, such as insulation, adjacent to the edge of the engine compartment cover. The bulb seal is adapted to sealingly engage with a surface on axis with the cover edge to reduce noise and prevent precipitation from entering into the vehicle passenger compartment. The flange seal is to sealingly contact a second surface laterally positioned with respect to the cover edge to reduce noise and prevent precipitation from entering the passenger compartment. The lip flange seal includes a pair of bulbs which prevent unwanted deformation when the seal encounters inside and outside radius situations. The retention member, securement member, bulb seal and flange seal are co-extruded with one another to form an elongated seal strip.

Abstract: A utility light pole having a main pole section and a pole end section adapted for supporting a selected one of a plurality of light fixtures above a base such that once constructed, the pole main section and the pole end section form a uniform exterior appearance. A utility light pole is formed from an elongated tubular pole main section adapted for availability in different lengths and a tubular pole end section provided which is relatively shorter than any available length of the pole main section for attachment to the pole main section. A variety of pole end sections having various mounting hole patterns to accommodate different light fixtures are provided. A first and second adapter plates means provided for securely removably fastening the pole end section to the pole main section so that they may combine to provide a uniform exterior appearance.

Abstract: An error detection and display system for an apparatus having first and second operating states comprises a testing device, a display unit (e.g., a warning light), and a switch-on control unit. The testing device runs primary error test cycles for detecting errors of a first kind which occur during the first operating state of the apparatus (e.g., a vehicle at standstill), and secondary error test cycles which occur and can be detected only in the second state of the apparatus (e.g., the vehicle moving above a predetermined minimum speed). The system also includes a non-volatile memory wherein all occurrences of errors of the second kind are stored. The switch-on control unit switches on the testing device and the warning light when the vehicle is first started. If no error of the first kind is detected by the testing device and no error of the second kind is stored in the error memory, the switch-on control unit switches off the warning light while the vehicle is still at a standstill.
