  • Patent number: 5224639
Abstract: A system for controlling the lateral position of a sheet of composite material as the sheet travels longitudinally through a curing oven. The system includes roller guide assemblies along the edges of the sheet. Lateral positioning of the sheet is controlled by varying the gripping of the sheet by the roller assemblies as it travels longitudinally through the oven. The degree of variable gripping is controlled by a feedback system which includes sensors located adjacent to the roller assemblies at spaced locations along the composite sheet material edge as it travels longitudinally through the curing oven.

  • Patent number: 5222507
Abstract: A surgical drape comprises a main panel and a "critical zone" panel secured thereto. A fenestration is formed by cutting through the "critical zone" panel. The main panel is a light weight fabric having a relatively high coefficient of friction. The "critical zone" panel comprises a barrier panel lying against the main panel and an outwardly facing absorbent panel, having an irregular surface. • Patent number: 5216299
Abstract: A lower power, noise rejecting TTL-to-CMOS input buffer, without the use of a current consuming voltage reference, has the characteristic of recognizing a logic LOW as less than 0.8 volts and a logic HIGH as greater than 2.0 volts for DC TTL signals while drawing only leakage current from its Vcc power supply, and simultaneously possesses the characteristic of rejecting high-amplitude Vin noise. For an input signal rapidly rising from zero to three volts, the buffer output switches at an input signal level of approximately 2.5 volts; and for the input signal rapidly falling from 3 to zero volts, the buffer output switches at an input signal level of approximately 1.4 volts.

  • Patent number: 5212930
Abstract: Upright containers of non-rectangular shape move downstream in a plurality of parallel columns and in laterally aligned rows toward a load station where the containers are deposited row-on-row into partitioned packing cases. The cases move continuously through the load station end-to-end and are indexed to the rows of containers by depending pegs that move in between the containers from above. The pegs are provided in flights of an overhead flight bar conveyor and camming means keeps these pegs oriented perpendicular to the upright containers as the legs move in between the containers to control the containers dropped at the load station.

  • Patent number: 5212932
Abstract: Groups of articles are received from a conventional drop packer grid, into one side of a rotatable carrier that defines pockets for receiving the articles. Each pocket is defined by upright fingers that form funnels for each article. These fingers are resiliently deformed by a star shaped cam located alongside each pocket so as to close around each article and hold it securely while the carrier is inverted. A second set of pockets accepts a second charge of articles while the first charge is dropped into a case lifted into place below the carrier. This case can be so positioned while the fingers are closed to reduce the verticle height through which the articles are dropped.

  • Patent number: 5212964
Abstract: In a co-rotational scroll apparatus having two interleaving scroll wraps secured to end plates rotating about parallel, non-concentric axes to produce a relative orbital motion, a means for enhancing lubricant flow through the scroll wraps. One or more passages are provided in one or both of the scroll end plates, each passage disposed to discharge lubricant between the scroll end plates, discharging adjacent the outer end of the scroll wraps immediately before the point where the scroll wraps form the first compression chamber to provide lubricant to the entire scroll wrap length. Lubricant is provided to the passages by a combination of pickup tubes affixed to the scroll end plates and inlet openings in the scroll end plates. The inlet openings accept lubricant discharged from the bearings in the apparatus. The pickup tubes rotate with the scroll end plates and remove lubricant from a sump adjacent the scroll end plates.

  • Patent number: 5211026
Abstract: An unloading arrangement for a rotary screw compressor includes discrete and different unloading apparatus associated with the male and female rotors respectively. The unloading apparatus associated with the male rotor is an axial piston continuous unloader movably disposed in a bore which is remote from but in flow communication, through a series of ports, with the compressor's working chamber. The unloading apparatus associated with the female rotor is a step unloader which, when opened, unloads the compressor in a single, relatively large capacity step. The compressor is therefore capable of being unloaded both over a continuous operating range and in a discontinuous, stepwise fashion. By duplexing compressors of this type, continuous capacity modulation of a multiple compressor system is made available over a large operating range without the employment of compressors unloaded by slide valve mechanisms.
