  • Patent number: 10985699
Abstract: A differential constructive wave oscillator device including a single, continuous differential transmission line that is arranged into first and second parallel traces in the form of a Mobius loop. The continuous transmission line includes first and second crossover points, each of which provides for a point of inflection between the first and second traces. In each stage of the device, both the first and second traces of the transmission line carry the forward traveling wave signal from a differential input port to a differential output port. Each phase includes a differential delay section that provides for a phase shift between a signal on the first trace and a signal on the second trace. Each phase additionally includes a differential feedback amplifier that amplifies the forward traveling wave signal at the differential output port, generates a differential feedback signal, and routes the differential feedback signal to the differential input port.

  • Patent number: 10985951
Abstract: The nonlinearity of power amplifiers (PAs) has been a severe constraint in performance of modern wireless transceivers. This problem is even more challenging for the fifth generation (5G) cellular system since 5G signals have extremely high peak to average power ratio. Nonlinear equalizers that exploit both deep neural networks (DNNs) and Volterra series models are provided to mitigate PA nonlinear distortions. The DNN equalizer architecture consists of multiple convolutional layers. The input features are designed according to the Volterra series model of nonlinear PAs. This enables the DNN equalizer to effectively mitigate nonlinear PA distortions while avoiding over-fitting under limited training data. The non-linear equalizers demonstrate superior performance over conventional nonlinear equalization approaches.

  • Patent number: 10986669
Abstract: This disclosure describes a novel PRACH scheme based on an Analog Bloom Filter, in which user equipment is allowed to transmit multiple sequences to a base station, instead of only one sequence as is the case with the current LTE. A new decoding algorithm is disclosed, which copes with the unique challenges in the signal generated with ZC sequences, such as peak shifting and multiple peaks. In addition, when CFO can be removed the new scheme allows the UE to piggyback log 2 ? ? 7 bits of information along with the signal. Evaluation shows that the new scheme outperforms the existing PRACH of LTE by more than an order of magnitude in many cases, and therefore is a good candidate as the PRACH for future wireless networks (e.g., 5G).

  • Patent number: 10981836
Abstract: The localized formation of graphene and diamond like structures on the surface of boron carbide is obtained due to exposure to high intensity laser illumination. The graphitization involves water vapor interacting with the laser illuminated surface of boron carbide and leaving behind excess carbon. The process can be done on the micrometer scale, allowing for a wide range of electronic applications. Raman is a powerful and convenient technique to routinely characterize and distinguish the composition of Boron Carbide (B4C), particularly since a wide variation in C content is possible in B4C. Graphitization of 1-3 ?m icosahedral B4C powder is observed at ambient conditions under illumination by a 473 nm (2.62 eV) laser during micro-Raman measurements. The graphitization, with ˜12 nm grain size, is dependent on the illumination intensity. The process is attributed to the oxidation of B4C to B2O3 by water vapor in air, and subsequent evaporation, leaving behind excess carbon.
