Abstract: A depth map is generated from at least a first and a second image. Generally, a plurality of reference pixels are selected in the first image and associated with respective pixels in the second image. Next, the disparity between each reference pixel and the respective pixel in said second image is determined, and for each reference pixel a depth value as a function of the respective disparity. In particular, each reference pixel is associated with a respective pixel in the second image via a matching and a filtering operation. The matching operation selects for each reference pixel a plurality of candidate pixels in the second image and associates with each candidate pixel a respective cost function value and a respective disparity value.

Abstract: An avalanche photodiode includes a cathode region and an anode region. A lateral insulating region including a barrier region and an insulating region surrounds the anode region. The cathode region forms a planar optical guide within a core of the cathode region, the guide being configured to guide photons generated during avalanche. The barrier region has a thickness extending through the planar optical guide to surround the core and prevent propagation of the photons beyond the barrier region. The core forms an electrical-confinement region for minority carriers generated within the core.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method of self-calibration of a successive approximation register-analog-to-digital converter. The method includes measuring an error value for each thermometer element of a plurality of thermometer elements and determining a mean value of measured error values. The method also includes generating a thermometer scale where each level of the thermometer scale will be an incremental sum of each value of a first subset, and each further level of the thermometer scale will be a sum of all values of a second subset plus the incremental sum of the elements of the first subset in any order. In addition, the method includes generating the output code according to the thermometer scale.
Abstract: A reading circuit for a magnetic-field sensor, generating an electrical detection quantity as a function of a detected magnetic field and of a detection sensitivity, is provided with an amplification stage, which is coupled to the magnetic-field sensor and generates an output signal as a function of the electrical detection quantity. In particular, the reading circuit is provided with a calibration stage, integrated with the amplification stage and configured so as to control a feedback loop in such a way as to compensate a variation of the detection sensitivity with respect to a nominal sensitivity value.

Abstract: An embodiment of a motor controller includes first and second supply nodes, a motor-coil node, an isolator, a motor driver, and a motor position signal generator. The isolator is coupled between the first and second supply nodes, and the motor driver is coupled to the second supply node and to the motor-coil node. Abstract: A control circuit for a switching voltage regulator is configured to receive an error signal representative of a regulator output voltage in relation to a nominal output voltage, and includes a set/reset flip-flop, a hysteresis comparator and a logic circuit. The flip-flop is configured to produce a switching control signal according to logic values at its set and reset terminals. The comparator is configured to produce a set signal at the set terminal when an error signal drops below a first value, and a reset signal when the error signal rises above a second value. The logic circuit is configured to prevent transmission of the reset signal to the reset terminal during a selected minimum time period and to thereafter enable transmission of the reset signal, and further, to produce an alternate reset signal at the reset terminal at the end of the selected maximum time period.
Abstract: A control device for a transistor of a switching converter rectifier generates a control signal of the transistor and includes a circuit to measure the conduction time of the body diode of the transistor cycle by cycle. When the conduction time is greater than a first threshold, the off time instant of the transistor is delayed by a first quantity in the next cycles, until the conduction time is less than the first threshold and greater than a second threshold. When the conduction time is between the first and second thresholds, the off time instant is delayed by a fixed second quantity in the next cycles until the conduction time is lower than the second threshold, with the second quantity less than the first quantity. When the conduction time is lower than the second threshold, the off time instant is advanced by the second quantity in the next cycle.
