Publication number: 20210399705Abstract: Disclosed herein is a voltage gain amplifier for use in an automotive radar receiver chain. The voltage gain amplifier utilizes pole-zero cancelation to yield a desired transfer function without gain peaking at a bandwidth in which attenuation is desired, and utilizes a low pass filter effectively formed by a feedback loop including a high pass filter and a differential amplifier to ensure the desired level of attenuation at the desired bandwidth. In some instances, a chopper may be utilized in the feedback loop prior to the high pass filter, and after the differential amplifier, so as to reduce the bandwidth of the differential amplifier in the feedback loop.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 17, 2020Publication date: December 23, 2021Applicant: STMicroelectronics International N.V.Inventor: Riju BISWAS

Patent number: 11205462Abstract: A read signal generator generates read signals to control read operations of a memory array. The read signal generator can be selectively controlled to generate an oscillating signal having a period that corresponds to a feature one of the read signals. The oscillating signal is passed to a frequency divider that divides the oscillating signal and provides the divided oscillating signal to an output pad. The frequency of the oscillating signal can be measured at the output pad. The frequency of the oscillating signal, and the duration of the read signal feature can be calculated from the frequency of the oscillating signal. The read signal feature can then be adjusted if needed.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 2020Date of Patent: December 21, 2021Assignees: STMicroelectronics International N.V., STMicroelectronics S.R.L.Inventors: Vivek Tyagi, Vikas Rana, Chantal Auricchio, Laura Capecchi

TECHNIQUES FOR USING A TOUCH SCREEN TO PERFORM EAR DETECTION USING EMULATED SELF CAPACITANCE SENSING
Publication number: 20210382576Abstract: A touch-screen-controller (TSC) performs mutual sensing to acquire touch strength values from a touch matrix formed by capacitively intersecting conductive lines. For each line, the TSC generates an emulated self capacitance value from an associated touch strength value based upon a position of that line compared to a location on the touch matrix adjacent to which a first touch type is expected to occur, and determines presence of the first touch type adjacent to the touch matrix based upon the emulated values. The emulated values for each conductive line may be weighted based upon its closeness to the location where the first touch type is expected to occur. The weighting may be zero if its associated conductive line is outside of the location where the first touch type is expected to occur, and may be one if inside of the location where the first touch type is expected to occur.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 14, 2021Publication date: December 9, 2021Applicant: STMicroelectronics Asia Pacific Pte LtdInventors: Kusuma Adi NINGRAT, Cam Chung LA -
