Abstract: A low voltage isolation switch is suitable for receiving from a connection node a high voltage signal and transmitting said high voltage signal to a load via a connection terminal. The isolation switch includes a driving block connected between first and second voltage reference terminals and including a first driving transistor coupled between the first voltage reference (Vss) and a first driving circuit node and a second driving transistor coupled between the driving circuit node and the second supply voltage reference. The switch comprises an isolation block connected to the connection terminal (pzt), the connection node, and the driving central circuit node and including a voltage limiter block, a diode block and a control transistor. The control transistor is connected across the diode block between the connection node and the connection terminal and has a control terminal connected to the driving central circuit node.
Abstract: A method of programming memory cells in a nonvolatile memory, includes applying a programming voltage to a first bitline and setting a second bitline in a floating state. The method further includes applying a compensation voltage to a shield conductive line coupled to the bitline set in the floating state, and setting in the floating state a shield conductive line coupled to the bitline receiving the programming voltage. The method is applicable to the reduction of the parasitic programming phenomena of memory cells by capacitive coupling between bitlines.
Abstract: A method for selective deposition of Si or SiGe on a Si or SiGe surface exploits differences in physico-chemical surface behavior according to a difference in doping of first and second surface regions. By providing at least one first surface region with a Boron doping of a suitable concentration range and exposing the substrate surface to a cleaning and passivating ambient atmosphere in a prebake step at a temperature lower or equal than 800° C., a subsequent deposition step of Si or SiGe will not lead to a layer deposition in the first surface region. This effect is used for selective deposition of Si or SiGe in the second surface region, which is not doped with Boron in the suitable concentration range, or doped with another dopant, or not doped. Several devices are, thus, provided. The method thus saves a usual photolithography sequence required for selective deposition of Si or SiGe in the second surface region according to the prior art.

The composite oxide (B) contains one or at least two elements selected from the group consisting of P (phosphorus), Si, Ce, and Bi and one or at least two elements selected from the group consisting of Sn, Sm, Nd, and Y (yttrium).

Abstract: A method for controlling a pixel may include first and second photosites, each having a photodiode and a charge-transfer transistor, a read node, and an electronic read element, all of which are common to all the photosites. The method may include an accumulation of photogenerated charges in the photodiode of the first photosite during a first period, an accumulation of photogenerated charges in the photodiode of the second photosite during a second period shorter than the first period, a selection of the signal corresponding to the quantity of charges accumulated in the photodiode of a photosite having the highest unsaturated intensity or else a saturation signal, and a digitization of the selected signal.

Abstract: An apparatus for enabling feedback from a recipient of media content includes a receiver that receives a content data stream, containing media content and embedded Meta-Data, and a decoder that decodes the content data stream to extract the media content and the Meta-Data. A playback signal dependent upon the extracted content is passed to a content playback device of the content recipient. A control device interface receives a signal from a local control device operated by the content recipient and a network interface provides the desired feedback by accessing a network in accordance with the Meta-Data and the signal from the local control device of the content recipient. The Meta-Data, which may be related to the content, is embedded in the encoded media content data sequence before the sequence is transmitted or at a later stage in the transmission network.
Abstract: An imaging device is formed in a semiconductor substrate. The device includes a matrix array of photosites. Each photosite is formed of a semiconductor region for storing charge, a semiconductor region for reading charge specific to said photosite, and a charge transfer circuit configured so as to permit a transfer of charge between the charge storage region and the charge reading region. Each photosite further includes at least one buried first electrode. At least one part of that buried first electrode bounds at least one part of the charge storage region. The charge transfer circuit for each photosite includes at least one second buried electrode.

The oscillator further comprises means to collect the output signal of the oscillator on the second terminal of the transistor. Video data is received at a transmitter at an incoming pixel rate based on a pixel clock. The data is transmitted to the receiver at a link symbol clock rate and is drained from the receiver at the pixel clock rate, which is regenerated by the receiver using the link symbol clock frequency, an M video value, and an N video value. The M video value (Mvid) is determined by the transmitter based on the incoming pixel rate and the N video value (Nvid) may be constant. An accumulator is used within the transmitter to ensure that the transmitter and receiver create a balanced system.
Abstract: A micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) actuator circuit and method. The circuit includes a current mirror, a voltage divider having an interior contact and coupled between the mirror output and a potential, an operational amplifier having an input coupled to the interior contact and a switch having input/output contacts separately coupled to the amplifier output and the mirror input and having a switch control. The amplifier output can be coupled to a digital control circuit which can be coupled to the switch control contact and to a digital to analog circuit (DAC) which can be coupled to the digital control circuit and to another amplifier input. An enable signal at the switch control couples the switch input/output contacts together. The capacitance of a MEMS capacitor coupled to the mirror output is determined by measurement of time for the amplifier output to switch from one level to another following a change in DAC output potential.

Abstract: According to an embodiment, a sequence of video frames as produced in a video-capture apparatus such as a video camera is stabilized against hand shaking or vibration by:—subjecting a pair of frames in the sequence to feature extraction and matching to produce a set of matched features;—subjecting the set of matched features to an outlier removal step; and—generating stabilized frames via motion-model estimation based on features resulting from outlier removal. Motion-model estimation is performed based on matched features having passed a zone-of-interest test confirmative that the matched features passing the test are distributed over a plurality of zones across the frames.

Abstract: A memory cell includes a latch having a true data node and a complement data node, a true bitline, a complement bitline, a first access transistor coupled between the true bitline and the true data node, and a second access transistor coupled between the complement bitline and the complement data node. A wordline driver circuit includes a true wordline coupled to control the first access transistor and a complement wordline coupled to control the second access transistor. The wordline driver generates control signals on the true and complement wordlines to access the memory cell by: actuating the first access transistor while the second access transistor is not actuated and then actuating the second access transistor while the first access transistor is not actuated. The bitlines and wordlines are supplied from different sets of power supply voltages, with the bitline high supply voltage being less than the wordline high supply voltage.

Abstract: A method is for processing transmission errors during contactless communication of information between a device and a reader. The information may be transmitted in the form of frames sent to a send/receive module of the reader in contactless coupling with the device and controlled by a control module coupled to the send/receive module. The method may include a detection of transmission errors that are to be ignored.

Abstract: A semiconductor device includes a wafer having a frontside and a backside. The wafer is formed from at least one integrated circuit chip having an electrical connection frontside co-planar with the wafer frontside and a backside co-planar with the wafer backside. A passive component including at least one conductive plate and a dielectric plate is positioned adjacent the integrated circuit chip. An encapsulation block embeds the integrated circuit chip and the passive component, the block having a frontside co-planar with the wafer frontside and a backside co-planar with the wafer backside. An electrical connection is made between the electrical connection frontside and the passive component. That electrical connection includes connection lines placed on the wafer frontside and wafer backside. The electrical connection further includes at least one via passing through the encapsulation block.
