  • Patent number: 12084343
Abstract: A N2O decomposition reactor and a method of its use to produce an effluent suitable for use in an ignition device or in the main fuel injection system in high speed aircraft. N2O decomposition is an exothermic reaction and produces a high temperature product containing high concentrations of O2. Combination of fuel with this effluent ignites quickly and is an effective ignition source for the aircraft combustor. Reactor performance is adjusted to meet the conditions required for a selected application by changing the relative concentrations of CO2 and N2O, modifying the reactor length, and varying the quantity of catalyst in the reactor. For use in a pilot ignition device, the desired effluent temperature is between 500° C. and 1200° C. in order to ignite and combust the fuel within the design residence time, between 0.5 and 10 ms. For application as a barbotage gas generator in a fuel injection system, the temperature of the effluent can range from 300° C. up to 800° C.

  • Patent number: 12085668
Abstract: A radar cloaking apparatus configured for positioning on a radar target and corresponding methods are provided. The radar cloaking apparatus comprises a radio signal emitter and computational circuitry. The computational circuitry is configured to cause the radar cloaking apparatus to at least reference a model encoding scattering properties of the radar target; determine a predicted reflection signature of the radar target from a selected interrogation angle based at least in part on the model encoding the scattering properties of the radar target; and cause transmission, by the radio signal emitter, of a cloaking radio signal along the selected interrogation angle. The cloaking radio signal is actively generated based on the predicted reflection signature of the radar target shifted in phase such that the cloaking radio signal is configured to destructively interfere with a reflected signal formed by an interrogating radar signal scattering off of the radar target.

  • Patent number: 12088465
Abstract: A network appliance can continue operation at a degraded level during an upgrade that requires less free pipeline memory than other upgrade techniques. The network appliance has a control plane and has a data plane with a packet processing pipeline circuit. Before the upgrade, the control plane has configured the packet processing pipeline circuit to process a network flow. The packet processing pipeline may be halted in order to perform a pipeline upgrade during which the packet processing pipeline circuit's pipeline memory is cleared. The packet processing pipeline circuit is restarted after the pipeline upgrade after which the control plane can reconfigure the packet processing pipeline circuit to process the network flow. The packet processing pipeline circuit can therefore process the network flow after the pipeline upgrade.

  • Patent number: 12086624
Abstract: Live mounting a virtual machine (VM) causes the VM to run off a backup copy or snapshot previously taken of a “live” production VM. The live-mounted VM is generally intended for temporary use such as to validate the integrity and contents of the backup copy for disaster recovery validation, or to access some contents of the backup copy from the live-mounted VM without restoring all backed up files. These uses contemplate that changes occurring during live mount are not preserved after the live-mounted VM expires or is taken down. Thus, live mounting a VM is not a restore operation and usually does not involve access to every block of data in the backup copy. However, live mounting provides live VM service in the cloud sooner than waiting for all of the backup copy/snapshot to be restored.

  • Patent number: 12086063
Abstract: Each load/store queue entry holds a load/store physical address proxy (PAP) for use as a proxy for a load/store physical memory line address (PMLA). The load/store PAP comprises a set index and a way that uniquely identifies an L2 cache entry holding a memory line at the load/store PMLA when an L1 cache provides the load/store PAP during the load/store instruction execution. The microprocessor removes a line at a removal PMLA from an L2 entry, forms a removal PAP as a proxy for the removal PMLA that comprises a set index and a way, snoops the load/store queue with the removal PAP to determine whether the removal PAP is being used as a proxy for the removal PMLA, fills the removed entry with a line at a fill PMLA, and prevents the removal PAP from being used as a proxy for the removal PMLA and the fill PMLA concurrently.

  • Patent number: 12082843
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to apparatus and methods for a stepped needle for an intraosseous device that uses the outer surface of the bone cortex as a reference point. Since the thickness of the bone cortex does not vary significantly between patients, the accuracy of needle placement can be improved. The device includes a needle with a stepped increase in outer diameter disposed along the needle shaft. The abrupt change in outer diameter provides a substantial increase in insertion force. In embodiments, the stepped increase prevents any further insertion into the bone cortex. Embodiments include a tapered needle lumen for medullary access confirmation and an overtube that is rotatably and slidably engaged to protect surrounding tissues and prevent needle stick injuries. Further, a needle hub can be rotatable or slidable, and can transition an overtube to an extended position to prevent accidental needle stick injuries.

  • Patent number: 12088334
Abstract: The systems and methods described herein are directed to techniques for improving battery life performance of end devices in resource monitoring systems which transmit data using low-power, wide area network (LPWAN) technologies. Further, the techniques include providing sensor interfaces in the end devices configured to communicate with multiple types of metrology sensors. Additionally, the systems and methods include techniques for reducing the size of a concentrator of a gateway device which receives resource measurement data from end devices. The reduced size of the concentrator results in smaller, more compact gateway devices that consume less energy and reduce heat dissipation experienced in gateway devices. The concentrator may comply with modular interface standards, and include two radios configured for transmitting 1-watt signals.

  • Patent number: 12086676
Abstract: A routing system that can receive, decode, and route messages from electronic tracking tags made by different manufacturers and issued by different tag issuers. Tracking tags may be placed on items that are shipped or stored, and wireless messages from the tags may be used to track the items and their status. The system enables a site to use a single gateway that obtain messages from heterogeneous tracking tags; the gateway forwards messages to the routing system for processing. The system may access a tag manufacturers database that contains a descriptor of the messages from each manufacturer's tags, and a tag registrations database that lists tags associated with each tag issuer. The system supports tag messages with encrypted contents and with tag identifiers that are rotated to prevent malicious tracking, and it may check message integrity to detect modification of the message after it is sent from the tag.

Abstract: An improved system architecture for scaling deployments of data management-as-a-service (DMaaS) distributes “job manager” functionality so that a large-scale data storage management system may be deployed in a cloud computing environment as DMaaS without experiencing performance bottlenecks that slow down core data protection operations at scale. The disclosed solution creates an infrastructure where job manager features run on any number of distinct machines or compute resources that act as local job managers. In the illustrative DMaaS, any number of components that scale horizontally (“the distributed components”) carry job management responsibility for storage management operations such as backup jobs, auxiliary copy jobs, archive jobs, etc. These distributed components are configured to perform locally as job managers and to see each storage management job through from beginning to end without centralized control.
