Abstract: A method of monitoring a pressure (P) of a tire of a motor vehicle involves measuring a pressure (P) of the tire and comparing the measured pressure with at least one reference value (PrM, Prm, Pr). The reference value (PrM, Prm, Pr) varies in accordance with a temporal law that depends on at least one of the following parameters: a temporal benchmark, a speech of the vehicle, a temperature of the tire, and a parameter that is based on at least one of the previous three parameters. The reference value (PrM, Prm, Pr) varies between first and second extreme values.

Abstract: A method for fitting tires (P) to a driving axle of a vehicle carrying heavy loads, which consists, after having determined the type of journey made by said vehicle, in: when the route is of type A (ascending under load with a driving torque and descending empty with a braking torque), fitting to each driving axle tires such that for each transverse groove (31) in the edge portions (B) of the tread (1), the angle of inclination of the rubber faces (310, 311) delimiting the transverse grooves (31) which first come into ground contact is smaller than the angle of inclination of the rubber face opposite delimiting the same transverse groove, or when the route is of type V (ascending empty and descending under load with a braking torque), fitting to each driving axle tires such that for each transverse groove (31) in the edge portions (B) of the tread, the angle of inclination of the rubber face (310, 311) delimiting said transverse groove which first comes into ground contact is larger than the angle of incli
Abstract: A tire tread comprising a rubber composition based on at least a diene elastomer, a reinforcing inorganic filler such as silica, an inorganic filler/elastomer coupling agent and carbon black in a very small quantity, in an amount of between 0.05 and 2.0 phr. The tires comprising such a tread have, after photo-oxidation treatment of the latter, a significantly improved grip on wet roads. Such photo-oxidizing treatment, in particular under visible UV radiation, may advantageously be performed during the manufacture of the treads or tires itself, in the uncured state or after vulcanization, or even later on in the life of said tires.
Abstract: Electrolysis device intended to produce hydrogen by the reduction of water, comprising a cathode compartment, an anode compartment, and an element connecting said compartments and allowing ions to migrate between them, the device being characterized in that the cathode compartment contains at least one weak acid capable of catalyzing the reduction and an electrolytic solution, the pH of which is in the range between 3 and 9.

Abstract: Elastic metal/textile composite cord (C-1) having two layers (Ci, Ce) of 1+N construction, formed from a core or inner layer (Ci) comprising a textile core thread (10) of diameter d1 and a metal outer layer (Ce) of N wires (12) of diameter d2 wound together in a helix with a pitch p2 around the layer Ci, said cord being characterized in that it has the following characteristics (p2 in mm): As>1.0%; At>4.0%; Af>6.0%; d1>1.1d2; 4<p2<14; and the core thread (10) is a textile fibre and is embedded in a sheath (11) of diene elastomer composition, As being the structural elongation of the composite cord, At its total elongation at break, and Af being the elongation at break of the textile fibre. Use of such a cord for the reinforcement of tires, for example in the belt of these tires.

Abstract: The invention relates to a rubber composition having improved vulcanisation kinetics, which can be used in particular for manufacturing tyres or semi-finished products for tyres, based on at least one diene elastomer, a reinforcing filler and a coupling agent providing the bond between filler and elastomer, characterized in that said reinforcing filler comprises synthetic magnesium hydroxide Mg(OH)2 wafers, covered with silica. The invention also relates to the use of such a composition for manufacturing rubber articles, in particular tyres or semi-finished products made of rubber intended for these tyres, especially treads. The invention also relates, per se, to this synthetic magnesium hydroxide in the form of silica-covered wafers, and also to its use as a reinforcing filler, especially in a diene elastomer matrix.

Abstract: The subject of the present invention is the use of cohesive, low-hysteresis compositions comprising small amounts of reinforcing fillers to produce profiled filing members arranged in the bottom zone of tires in order to improve the life thereof.
Abstract: A process for the preparation of a functionalized, coupled or starred block copolymer which is usable in a sulphur-cross-linkable rubber composition of reduced hysteresis in the cross-linked state, one at least of said blocks consisting of a polyisoprene and at least one other block consisting of a diene elastomer other than a polyisoprene the molar ratio of units originating from one or more conjugated dienes of which is greater than 15%.
Abstract: A method of simulating the physical behavior of a tire equipping a vehicle rolling on the ground, wherein the tread of the tire has a contact area which includes an adherent contact area and a sliding contact area, wherein the method comprises the steps of: calculating longitudinal forces and lateral forces transmitted by the tire, between the ground and the vehicle, based on dynamic parameters related to physical rolling and operating conditions of the tire and based on specific physical parameters of the tire; establishing, over the course of a preliminary phase, by applying physical laws which are known and/or established by specific experiments, and as a first model, a model of the longitudinal forces, the lateral forces, a self-aligning torque related to the intensity of these forces and to the distribution of same within the contact area, and of an equilibrium of the basic shear and sliding forces of the tire at a presumed unique point of passage between the adherent and sliding contact regions, this fi
Abstract: In an electronic device for counting the number of rotations for a tire and wheel assembly, a storage means holds counting information (NbRot) intended to represent the number of rotations counted at each moment. The counting information (NbRot) represents the number of rotations counted from a predetermined time.
Abstract: A self-contained radio apparatus for the transmission of data includes a resiliently deformable patch, a resiliently deformable antenna carried by the patch, a post secured to the patch and upstanding from an upper surface of the patch, the post providing at an end remote from the patch a mounting for a radio device, and, electrical conductors extending from the antenna to the end of the post remote from the patch for operably connecting the antenna to a radio device mounted on the post. The radio apparatus is useful for attaching to objects that undergo bending stresses, such as tires.
