  • Patent number: 11275968
Abstract: Exemplary methods and apparatus are disclosed that implement super-sparse image/video compression by storing image dictionary elements within a cross-bar resistive random access memory (ReRAM) array (or other suitable cross-bar NVM array). In illustrative examples, each column of the cross-bar ReRAM array stores the values for one dictionary element (such as one 4×4 dictionary element). Methods and apparatus are described for training (configuring) the cross-bar ReRAM array to generate and store the dictionary elements by sequentially applying patches from training images to the array using an unstructured Hebbian training procedure. Additionally, methods and apparatus are described for compressing an input image by applying patches from the input image to the ReRAM array to read out cross-bar column indices identifying the columns storing the various dictionary elements that best fit the image. This may be done in parallel using a set of ReRAM arrays.

  • Patent number: 11274930
Abstract: An autonomous mobile device (AMD) uses sensors to explore a physical space and determine a map indicating the locations of obstacles. As data is later acquired, the map may be updated, resulting in changes to previously mapped obstacle positions. Navigability tests determine if a path can be found between a current location and a previously visited location. A failure to find a path may result in exploration of an area that includes the previously visited location. Submaps may be produced by the AMD as it moves through the physical space. An accuracy score of a selected submap is determined by comparing the selected submap with a partial global map created using submaps other than the selected submap. If the accuracy score is less than a threshold value, the selected submap may be discarded and an area in the physical space associated with the selected submap may be re-explored.

  • Patent number: 11276676
Abstract: Stacked devices and methods of fabrication are provided. Die-to-wafer (D2W) direct-bonding techniques join layers of dies of various physical sizes, form factors, and foundry nodes to a semiconductor wafer, to interposers, or to boards and panels, allowing mixing and matching of variegated dies in the fabrication of 3D stacked devices during wafer level packaging (WLP). Molding material fills in lateral spaces between dies to enable fan-out versions of 3D die stacks with fine pitch leads and capability of vertical through-vias throughout. Molding material is planarized to create direct-bonding surfaces between multiple layers of the variegated dies for high interconnect density and reduction of vertical height. Interposers with variegated dies on one or both sides can be created and bonded to wafers. Logic dies and image sensors from different fabrication nodes and different wafer sizes can be stacked during WLP, or logic dies and high bandwidth memory (HBM) of different geometries can be stacked during WLP.
