Abstract: The present invention provides an ?-type titanium alloy, the fracture toughness and thermal creep resistance of the prepared ?-type titanium alloy are improved by controlling the content of Al, Zr, and Sn. The room temperature strength is improved by adding a certain amount of Si, and the thermal creep resistance is further improved. The addition of a certain amount of C and Cr improves the high-temperature tensile properties of the prepared ?-type titanium alloy. The method provided by the invention has a simple process and low cost and can achieve good matching of low cost, high performance, and less processing capacity. The prepared ?-type titanium alloy in example 1˜4 of the invention has an elastic modulus of 124˜132 GPa, a tensile strength of 867˜881 MPa, a yield strength of 743˜762 MPa, an elongation of 22%˜24.0%, and a section shrinkage of 47%˜51% at 600° C.

Abstract: System for effecting a reversible sensory block includes a hybrid neuromodulator and hybrid lead for delivering electrical and pharmacological stimulation. An implantable modulator provides electrical pulse generation and pharmacological fluid infusion. Method for effecting a reversible sensory block delivers low-frequency stimulation based on the conduction velocity of a target afferent. Afferents with different conduction velocities may be blocked by stimulation with different frequencies. Temporally synchronized pulse stimuli from multiple stimulating electrodes may interfere with each other to stimulate a specific afferent. Spatial summation of synchronized low-frequency pulse stimulation may be delivered at multi-sites. Temporal interference of two kilohertz sinusoidal stimuli with slight frequency difference deliver a low-frequency sinusoidal stimulus at a focal region of interference. Spatial summation translates to evoked action potentials that converge at T-junction of a targeted afferent.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein that create discrete volumes associated with solid-phase particles (e.g., drop-carrier particles) suspended in an immiscible phase (e.g., dropicles). One embodiment of the system includes a plurality of hydrogel-based drop-carrier particles containing a microscale voids or cavities that hold an aqueous phase droplet of fluid within each drop-carrier particle. The plurality of hydrogel drop-carrier particles associated with aqueous drops are suspended as individual elements in an immiscible oil phase. The microscale hydrogel drop-carrier particles containing the voids or cavities may be manufactured using microfluidic droplet generators. The dropicles may be used to analyze single-entities (e.g., single-molecules and single-cells) and analytes.
