  • Patent number: 7376249
Abstract: The movement of an imaging of a background in a sequence of images of a scene determined. A combination image is composed with pixels which have been built up through combination of several consecutive images. Along with the combination image, a change image is calculated which indicates position-dependently to what extent differences arise between successive images contributing to the same area in the combination image. Corresponding areas in an input image and in the combination image are searched for. This is done depending on the change image, such that a probability that an area in the combination image is found is less according as the change image indicates that the changeability of the are is greater, for instance by selecting, for the purpose of the search, for what areas in the combination image corresponding areas in the input image will be searched for. From the locations of the corresponding areas, the movement of the background is determined.

  • Patent number: 7369248
Abstract: In measuring an optical path length difference, light from a light source is guided through a first and a second path. A three-way coupler combines light from the first and the second path in at least three combination, with at least three mutually different added relative phase displacements. A detector measures interference intensities of the at least three combinations. From the intensities, a calculation unit determines a phase difference between the light from the first and second path while eliminating an effect of a contrast between the light from the first and second path.

  • Publication number: 20070291740
Abstract: Method for exchanging analog voice band signals and digital data signals between user termination equipment and a local exchange via conventional connection wires. The data signals are sent in the form of a carrier signal modulated by shift keying codes. At least when the user termination equipment or the local exchange are in a state to exchange said analog voice band signals, the data signals are sent in the form of shift keying codes having a restricted shift. The shift keying codes are limited to codes which result in a restricted offset of the modulated carrier signal, e.g. limited to shift keying codes having a restricted “Running Digital Sum” (RDS). The number of elements per code over which the RDS is calculated may be chosen thus that the frequency of the remaining, restricted carrier offset mainly lies outside the voice band.

  • Publication number: 20070263302
Abstract: A structure such as an electronically deformable mirror contains a deformable membrane, an array of actuators located facing the membrane, each actuator being arranged to actuate local displacement of the membrane perpendicular to its surface. The actuators and the membrane are connected via an array of actuating connections. The actuating connections substantially transmit movement perpendicular to the second surface, but leave planar displacement and/or local rotation of the second surface substantially free. Preferably, the actuators contain an array of soft magnetic islands on a soft magnetic base plane, with actuator coils running around the islands and a system of sort magnetic walls on the base plane to separate the coils. The walls support a soft magnetic resilient surface that extend over of the islands and serve to drive the actuating connections.

  • Publication number: 20070252350
Abstract: The invention relates to an anti-roll/pitch system for use in a vehicle, in which a first mass, for instance a cabin, is suspended to a second mass, for instance a chassis, by means of a bearing arm, which is pivotally connected to the second mass around a pivot axis, via spring means. The anti-roll/pitch system comprises means to adjust a point of application of a spring force acting on the bearing arm, so as to adjust a moment exerted by said spring force on said bearing arm to counteract a load exerted on the bearing arm by the first mass. The spring force is exerted on the bearing arm through a flexible, elongated member, such as a string or cable, which takes up little space when adjusting the point of application. The invention furthermore relates to a built-in unit and a vehicle, equipped with an anti-roll/pitch system according to the invention.

  • Publication number: 20070223400
Abstract: Throughput between nodes such as personal computer and a subnetwork such as the Internet is increased by using inverse multiplexing over multiple intersubnetwork connections such as local loop telephone lines of different users. The different nodes share the multiple intersubnetwork connections with each other, so that the efficiency of the use of the intersubnetwork connections is increased. Each of the nodes is capable of receiving and/or transmitting inverse-multiplexed data signals over the same plurality of intersubnetwork connections. Preferably, to this end, at each node, use is made of a separate connecting device which is, on the one side, locally coupled to the node and an intersubnetwork connection and is, on the other side, remotely coupled to one or more other such connecting devices.
