Abstract: The zirconium content of the alloy composition of a copper alloy foil of the present invention is 3.0 to 7.0 atomic percent, and the copper alloy foil includes copper matrix phases and composite phases composed of copper-zirconium compound phases and copper phases. As shown in FIG. 1, the copper matrix phases and the composite phases form a matrix phase-composite phase layered structure and are arranged alternately parallel to a rolling direction as viewed in a cross-section perpendicular to the width direction. In addition, the copper-zirconium compound phases and the copper phases in the composite phases form a composite phase inner layered structure and are arranged alternately parallel to the rolling direction at a phase pitch of 50 nm or less as viewed in the above cross-section. This double layered structure presumably makes the copper alloy foil densely layered to provide a strengthening mechanism similar to multilayer reinforced composite materials.

Abstract: To grow a highly pure nitride crystal having a low oxygen concentration efficiently by an ammonothermal method. Abstract: A backlight system (30) includes a light emitting section (31) and an imaging optical system. The imaging optical system includes a first microlens array (MLA1) and a second microlens array (MLA2). The lenses (1A) separates the beams of light emitted from the light emitting section (31) by RGB, and causes them to be converged at a pitch same as a pitch at which the picture elements are arrayed. The lenses (2A) are provided in one-to-one correspondence to the picture elements such that the lenses (2A) have their respective focal points at positions onto which beams of light having passed through the lenses (1A) are converged. The lenses (2A) thus deflect the beams of light which have passed through the lenses (1A) in a substantially vertical direction with respect to the display surface of the liquid crystal panel.

Abstract: A metallic glass fastening screw that is not susceptible to loosening, and is capable of implementing fastening with high strength and reliability. In processing a screw thread and a screw groove of a screw, amorphous bulk metallic glass is form-rolled at glass transition temperature or less of the bulk metallic glass serving as a member to be processed. The bulk metallic glass has a plastic strain property introduced by plastic working such as form rolling, to improve ductility. A relationship of d>0.022×D is set so that a depth from a bottom of the screw groove in the region where the plastic strain is introduced is d and an outside diameter of the screw is D, to relax stress concentration of tensile stress generated in a region at the bottom of the screw groove due to tension (axial force) applied to the screw in fastening.

Abstract: In magnetic tunnel junctions manufactured with use of a ferromagnetic material having perpendicular magnetic anisotropy, a difference in record retention time depending on stored information due to an imbalance in thermal stability between a parallel state and an anti-parallel state of magnetization, which correspond to bit information, is alleviated. Abstract: Provided is a laminate which includes a transparent conductive film layer that is composed of an oxide thin film mainly composed of titanium oxide and contains an additional element such as niobium, and also contains an anatase phase having more excellent crystallinity and further has high refractive index and low resistivity by forming an optimal buffer layer on the substrate. Abstract: A magnetoresistive effect element uses a perpendicularly magnetized material and has a high TMR ratio. Intermediate layers composed of an element metal having a melting point of 1600° C. or an alloy containing the metal on an outside of a structure consisting of a CoFeB layer, an MgO barrier layer, and a CoFeB layer. By inserting the intermediate layers, crystallization of the CoFeB layer during annealing is advanced from an MgO (001) crystal side, so that the CoFeB layer has a crystalline orientation in bcc (001).
Abstract: A spinal fixation titanium alloy rod fixes a plurality of spinal-fixing screws embedded and fixed in vertebrae of a human body. The rod is cylindrically shaped, has a sufficient length for coupling with the spinal-fixing screws, and has a diameter adjusted to 4 to 7 mm. In the titanium alloy constituting the rod, Nb content is 25 to 35 percent by weight, Ta content is such that the Nb content +0.8×Ta content ranges from 36 to 45 percent by weight, Zr content is 3 to 6 percent by weight, and the remainder is Ti and unavoidable impurities, excluding vanadium. The titanium alloy is manufactured by swaging processing at a cross-sectional reduction rate of at least 90%, and aging the swaged titanium alloy by heating at a temperature of 600 to 800K, preferably 700 to 800K, for 43.2 ks to 604.8 ks.
