Abstract: A system for generating X-ray beams from a liquid target includes a vacuum chamber, a diamond window assembly, an electron source, a target material flow system, and an X-ray detector/imager. An electron beam from the electron source travels through the diamond window assembly and into a dynamic target material of the flow system. Preferably, the dynamic target material is lead bismuth eutectic in a liquid state. Upon colliding with the dynamic target material, X-rays are generated. The generated X-rays exit through an X-ray exit window to be captured by the X-ray detector/imager. Since the dynamic target material is constantly in fluid motion within a pipeline of the flow system, the electron beam always has a new target area which is at a controlled operational temperature and thus, prevents overheating issues. By providing a small focus area for the electron beams, the overall imaging resolution of the X-rays is also improved.

Abstract: A full continuous flow preparation method of 2-methyl-4-amino-5-aminomethylpyrimidine. A mixed solution of cyanoacetamide, N,N-dimethylformamide and a catalyst is mixed with phosphorus oxychloride in a first micro-mixer, and then the reaction mixture undergoes continuous flow reaction in a microchannel reactor to obtain (dimethylaminomethylene) malononitrile. The reaction mixture is subjected to continuous quenching, extraction and separation, and the organic phase is concentrated, mixed with a methanol solution, and then reacted with an organic base to obtain 2-methyl-4-amino-5-cyanopyrimidine. After the mixed liquid is continuously filtered, the filter cake is dissolved in methanol, mixed with hydrogen in a second micro-mixer, and then transported to a fixed-bed reactor for hydrogenation reaction. The products are concentrated, dried and purified to obtain the desired 2-methyl-4-amino-5-aminomethylpyrimidine.

Abstract: Herein disclosed is a method for automatically extracting signatures for malware. The method takes advantage of a fundamental economic requirement of malware authors: they must reuse code to manage the time investment. The method disclosed finds shared code between malware and generates signatures from the code. A method is also disclosed for separating code that is found predominantly, if not exceptionally, in malware from code that may be found in benign program.
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for the fully automatic, template-free locating and extracting of a plurality of two-dimensional projections of particles in a micrograph image. A set of reference images is automatically assembled from a micrograph image by analyzing the image data in each of a plurality of partially overlapping windows and identifying a subset of windows with image data satisfying at least one statistic criterion compared to other windows. A normalized cross-correlation is then calculated between the image data in each reference image and the image data in each of a plurality of query image windows. Based on this cross-correlation analysis, a plurality of locations in the micrograph is automatically identified as containing a two-dimensional projection of a different instance of the particle of the first type. The two-dimensional projections identified in the micrograph are then used to determine the three-dimensional structure of the particle.

Abstract: A class of design topologies in the field of nonlinear networks (NLN) or nonlinear transmission lines (NLTL) that re-utilize direct current (DC) and low-frequency (LF) signal content reflected from a load or an output filter to yield increased pulse to radio frequency conversion efficiency and increased overall system efficiency. A nonlinear transmission line topology comprises a plurality of series inductive elements and a plurality of nonlinear capacitive elements. The inductive elements and the capacitive elements are arranged in a periodic structure forming a nonlinear network. An output coupling circuit connected across an output of the nonlinear network is configured to transmit high-frequency content to a load and to reflect back direct current and low-frequency content into the nonlinear network.
