Abstract: An embodiment in accordance with the present invention includes an EGS configured to allow the commercial production of electrical energy. One criteria of an EGS according to the present invention is that the temperature and volume of the fluids extracted are sufficiently high and large enough as to allow the commercial production of electrical energy. The system is able to operate for at least N years before the extracted fluid falls below the minimum temperature needed for energy production. Additionally, fractures are separated from each other by a sufficiently large volume of rock (Vcrit) relative to the fractures surface area such that the ratio of the rate of heat extraction to the rate of heat supply controlled by the thermal conductivity of the rock is such that the intervening rock is cooled at a rate that is sufficiently slow to be economic.

Abstract: A process for producing polyarylene ether nitrile, in which an N-methylpyrrolidone solvent can be efficiently recovered. The process includes the following steps: mixing N-methylpyrrolidone, potassium carbonate, 2,6-dichlorobenzonitrile, dihydric phenol and toluene, and carrying out a dehydration reaction and a polymerization reaction in sequence to obtain a high-viscosity polyarylene ether nitrile solution; then pelletizing and conveying polyarylene ether nitrile particles together with methanol to a primary vibrating screen to complete a primary replacement of N-methylpyrrolidone; then using a secondary vibrating screen to complete a secondary replacement of the solvent; subsequently, grinding the polyarylene ether nitrile particles and carrying out an extraction with methanol, and then centrifuging, washing with water and drying to obtain purified polyarylene ether nitrile powder; and finally distilling replacement liquid and centrifugation liquid to separate methanol from N-methylpyrrolidone.

Abstract: Immunogenic potential of a virus-like particle (VLP) for use in developing a vaccine is predicted by comparing order parameters of the VLP and a target virus. The method may include determining a numerical value of an order parameter and relative composition of viral coat proteins of a target virion (virus). A numerical value of an order parameter and relative composition of the surface proteins of a VLP is also determined. The numerical value of the order parameter and relative composition of the viral coat proteins of the target virion (virus) are compared to the numerical value of the order parameter and relative composition of the VLP to determine if the VLP satisfies pre-defined matching criteria indicative of high immunogenic potential and corresponding vaccine efficacy.
