Abstract: Gallium-containing semiconductor layers are grown on a substrate, followed by dry etching of the gallium-containing semiconductor layers during fabrication of a device. After the dry etching, surface treatments are performed to remove damage from the sidewalls of the device. After the surface treatments, dielectric materials are deposited on the sidewalls of the device to passivate the sidewalls of the device. These steps result in an improvement in forward current-voltage characteristics and reduction in leakage current of the device, as well as an enhancement of light output power and efficiency of the device.

Abstract: In some implementations, a device may generate, using a machine learning model, a first output relating to an event during a first period of time. The machine learning model may be trained using training data. The device may obtain actual data relating to the event during a second period of time that precedes the first period of time. The device may generate updated training data based on the training data and the actual data. The device may train, using the updated training data, the machine learning model to generate an updated machine learning model. The device may generate, using the updated machine learning model, a second output relating to the event during a third period of time. The device may cause one or more resources to be allocated based on the second output.

Abstract: The present invention includes systems and methods for a multi-primary color system for display. A multi-primary color system increases the number of primary colors available in a color system and color system equipment. Increasing the number of primary colors reduces metameric errors from viewer to viewer. One embodiment of the multi-primary color system includes Red, Green, Blue, Cyan, Yellow, and Magenta primaries. The systems of the present invention maintain compatibility with existing color systems and equipment and provide systems for backwards compatibility with older color systems.

Abstract: Capacitor balancing of a dual three-level (3L) T-type converter based on silicon carbide (SiC) discrete semiconductors was performed with the converter feeding an open-ends induction motor (OEIM). A model predictive control (MPC) using a two step cost function calculation was developed to balance the DC link capacitors and control the machine torque simultaneously. The number of redundant switching states used was reduced without affecting the operating voltage vectors, which substantially reduced the computational time. A simulation and experimental results are in good agreement.

Abstract: A static random-access memory (SRAM) cell for high-speed content-addressable memory (CAM) and in-memory Boolean logic operations includes a standard 6T-SRAM and two additional PMOS access transistors, where read word lines of the two positive-channel metal oxide semiconductor (PMOS) access transistors P1 and P2 are RWLR and RWLL respectively, and under the control thereof, a differential read port RBL/RBL is formed. The SRAM cell is suitable for multi-row address selection, and typically applied to in-memory high-speed CAM and in-memory Boolean logic operations. Due to PMOS device characteristics, the structure design of the SRAM cell can avoid read disturbance generated by an in-memory SRAM, and ensure that the SRAM can perform in-memory CAM and in-memory Boolean logic operations stably at a high speed. In addition, this SRAM-based IMC solution supports commercial CMOS technology, and has an opportunity to leverage a large number of existing on-chip SRAM caches.
Abstract: An antenna system and a method for fabricating an antenna system are disclosed. The antenna system includes a substrate having a top side and a bottom side, a single straight microstrip line on the top side of the substrate, a microstrip power divider (PD) on the top side of the substrate, and a ground plane on the bottom side. An input end of the single straight microstrip line is adjacent and vertical to a first edge of the substrate, and an output end of the single straight microstrip line is open. An input end of the microstrip PD is adjacent and vertical to a second edge of the substrate, and eight output ends of the microstrip PD are open. The first edge is parallel to the second edge. Further, three concentric square slots are etched on the ground plane.

Abstract: A normal distributions transform (NDT) method for LiDAR point cloud localization in unmanned driving is provided. The method proposes a non-recursive, memory-efficient data structure occupation-aware-voxel-structure (OAVS), which speeds up each search operation. Compared with a tree-based structure, the proposed data structure OAVS is easy to parallelize and consumes only about 1/10 of memory. Based on the data structure OAVS, the method proposes a semantic-assisted OAVS-based (SEO)-NDT algorithm, which significantly reduces the number of search operations, redefines a parameter affecting the number of search operations, and removes a redundant search operation. In addition, the method proposes a streaming field-programmable gate array (FPGA) accelerator architecture, which further improves the real-time and energy-saving performance of the SEO-NDT algorithm. The method meets the real-time and high-precision requirements of smart vehicles for three-dimensional (3D) lidar localization.

Abstract: DNA is sequenced by (a) independently sequencing first and second strands of a dsDNA to obtain corresponding first and second sequences; and (b) combining the first and second sequences to generate a consensus sequence of the dsDNA. By independently sequencing first and second strands the error probability of the consensus sequence approximates a multiplication of those of the first and second sequences.

Abstract: A microporous gel system for certain applications, including biomedical applications, includes an aqueous solution containing plurality of microgel particles including a biodegradable crosslinker. In some aspects, the microgel particles act as gel building blocks that anneal to one another to form a covalently-stabilized scaffold of microgel particles having interstitial spaces therein. In certain aspects, annealing of the microgel particles occurs after exposure to an annealing agent that is endogenously present or exogenously added. In some embodiments, annealing of the microgel particles requires the presence of an initiator such as exposure to light. In particular embodiments, the chemical and physical properties of the gel building blocks can be controlled to allow downstream control of the resulting assembled scaffold. In one or more embodiments, cells are able to quickly infiltrate the interstitial spaces of the assembled scaffold.
