  • Patent number: 11221273
Abstract: A method for automatically detecting the free vibration response segment of the high-speed railway bridges after trains passing. First, pre-select the test response sequence to be decomposed based on the maximum of the time instants corresponding to the absolute maximums of the response vectors at various measuring point. Then, Extract the single-frequency modal response from the test response by the iterative variational mode decomposition and fit the envelope amplitude of the modal response by Hilbert transform. Finally, the vibration features at each time instants are marked as decay vibration or non-decay vibration. The longest structural response segment that meets the decay vibration features is determined as the detected free vibration response segment for modal identification. This invention can effectively detect the free vibration data segment without human participation, which is of great significance for the real-time accurate modal analysis of high-speed railway bridges.

  • Patent number: 11221384
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for producing a radio frequency (RF) pulse for use in magnetic resonance. The steps of the method include providing a computer system and a set of RF input parameters. The computer system then generates an optimal phase surface by iteratively updating an initial RF pulse profile based at least in part on the set of RF input parameters. The optimal phase surface contains a set of iteratively generated RF pulse profiles with various characteristics, such as bandwidths or selectivity. The steps of the method further include selecting an RF pulse profile with the computer system based on a search on the optimal phase surface, which can be implemented with the help of an index file. The search can be performed using an artificial intelligence algorithm, and can retrieve the shortest pulse profile that satisfies user input parameters or requirements.

  • Patent number: 11223355
Abstract: Techniques for modifying the Josephson potential of a transmon qubit by shunting the transmon with an inductance are described. The inclusion of this inductance may increase the confined potential of the qubit system compared with the conventional transmon, which may lead to a transmon qubit that is stable at much higher drive energies. The inductive shunt may serve the purpose of blocking some or all phase-slips between the electrodes of the qubit. As a result, the inductively shunted transmon may offer an advantage over conventional devices when used for applications involving high energy drives, whilst offering few to no drawbacks in comparison to conventional devices when used at lower drive energies.
