Abstract: Provided is the pixel circuit for active matrix display apparatus and the driving method thereof, which is controlled by digital signal. The pre-charge pixel voltage is controlled and discharged by controlling the resistor and transistors, so that the desired grey scale is generated. The pixel circuit includes: a first switch, a second switch, a third switch, an energy storage device and resistor. By controlling the third switch, the first end of the energy storage device is charged to the voltage of the second source. The first switch and the second switch are controlled to switch on, so that the first end of the energy storage device discharging to the first source. The second switch switches off when the first end of the energy storage device reaches the desired pixel voltage.

Abstract: The design method for complex electromagnetic materials is expanded from form-invariant coordinate transformations of Maxwell's equations to finite embedded coordinate transformations. Embedded transformations allow the transfer of electromagnetic field manipulations from the transformation-optical medium to another medium, thereby allowing the design of structures that are not exclusively invisible. A topological criterion for the reflectionless design of complex media is also disclosed and is illustrated in conjunction with the topological criterion to design a parallel beam shifter and a beam splitter with unconventional electromagnetic behavior.

Abstract: Techniques for segmentation include determining an edge of voxels in a range associated with a target object. A center voxel is determined. Target size is determined based on the center voxel. In some embodiments, edges near the center are suppressed, markers are determined based on the center, and an initial boundary is determined using a watershed transform. Some embodiments include determining multiple rays originating at the center in 3D, and determining adjacent rays for each. In some embodiments, a 2D field of amplitudes is determined on a first dimension for distance along a ray and a second dimension for successive rays in order. An initial boundary is determined based on a path of minimum cost to connect each ray. In some embodiments, active contouring is performed using a novel term to refine the initial boundary. In some embodiments, boundaries of part-solid target objects are refined using Markov models.

Abstract: A diaphragm respiratory signal simulator is activated by skin voltage that is coupled to the simulator by many ways such as but not limited to a user sliding a finger over a conductive surface, the user sliding a finger over surfaces close to the conductive element, touch or sliding the finger over the ventilator screen. The conductive surface is electrically connected to a ring electrode at a distal part of a manikin's esophagus. The diaphragm respiratory signal simulator produces a synthetic diaphragm electrical signal that triggers a ventilator to deliver a supported breath, which is proportional to the strength of the generated signal. This process allows safe and successful training on the operations of NAVA mode of ventilation and catheter positioning.

Abstract: A comparator of a mono-pulse radar and a signal generation method thereof are provided. The comparator includes an antenna array, a TEM mode cavity power combiner and a switch device. The antenna array includes N antennas. The TEM mode cavity power combiner includes a combination port and M input port sets, and each of the input port sets has a positive input port and a negative input port, wherein N and M are integer greater than 1. The switch device is coupled between the antenna array and the TEM mode cavity power combiner and is used for transmitting the reflected signal received by the antenna array to the positive input port or the negative input port of one of the input port sets. The combination port of the TEM mode cavity power combiner generates an output signal according to the reflected signals received from the input port sets.
