Patent number: 12184682Abstract: Disclosed herein are embodiments of systems, methods, and products comprising an analytic server, which automatically detects malicious electronic files. The analytic server receives electronic files, runs a file extraction module to recursively scan the electronic files, and extracts all of the embedded and linked electronic files. The analytic server runs an exploit scanner against the extracted electronic files, and extracts code included in the electronic files. The analytic server deobfuscates the extracted code and examines the deobfuscated code by applying a set of malicious behavior rules against the deobfuscated rules. The analytic server identifies potentially malicious electronic files based on the examination. The analytic server applies a set of whitelist rules on the potentially malicious electronic files to eliminate false alarms. The analytic server transmits alert notifications to an analyst regarding the malicious electronic files and updates the whitelist rules based on analyst's feedback.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 2023Date of Patent: December 31, 2024Assignee: United Services Automobile Association (USAA)Inventor: Joseph Andrew Kjar

Patent number: 12183202Abstract: A parking availability predictor system provides a prediction of parking availability that meets a user's specified needs. When the user submits a query for parking availability, he can include desired parking criteria such as location, handicapped status, and desired time to begin parking. The system consults a parking occupancy model which gathers current and historical information about parking occupancy, including parking durations and durations of vacancies between occupancies. The model processes the gathered information into a statistical predictor of parking occupancy and vacancy. The system uses the predictor to predict when parking that meets the user's needs will become available. That prediction, including user-suitable parking locations along with the expected start of their vacancies, is then sent to the user in answer to his query.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 2024Date of Patent: December 31, 2024Assignee: United Services Automobile Association (USAA)Inventors: Nikhil Dama, Laura Frisbie Evans, Christopher Ryan Haberland, Ting Lu, Simon Phillip Stolarczyk, Kristopher Thomas Williams

Patent number: 12182812Abstract: Embodiments described herein disclose methods and systems for authorizing a payment card transaction using a dynamic code accessed from a first device and a presence of a second device. The dynamic code can be accessed on a first device when the second device is within a proximity of the first device (e.g., electronically paired using a short-range communication protocol, on the same local area network). The system can receive a request for authorization of a transaction using the payment card and can include a verification code associated with the payment card and an identifier of the payment card, and the payment card can have the associated dynamic code. The verification code can be compared with a value of the dynamic code at the time of the transaction. In response to the verification code matching the dynamic code at the time of the transaction, the system can authorize the transaction.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 2023Date of Patent: December 31, 2024Assignee: United Services Automobile Association (USAA)Inventor: Patrick Adam

Patent number: 12185133Abstract: Techniques provided herein employ a mesh network of wireless communication-enabled devices to monitor activity in a geographical area, such as a neighborhood or a parking lot. To this end, the mesh network monitoring system collects data about the devices found in the mesh network and establishes an expected activity level, which is used as a reference for comparing and classifying a current activity level. If the current activity level deviates significantly from the expected activity level, it may be classified as an unusual event. Upon detecting an unusual event, the mesh monitoring network may output a notification sent to the users of the devices in the mesh network. The mesh network monitoring system may help drivers determine availability of parking spots on a parking lot.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 2023Date of Patent: December 31, 2024Assignee: United Services Automobile Association (USAA)Inventors: Arthur Quentin Smith, Oscar Guerra, Timothy Blair Chalmers, Noe Alberto Martinez, Justin Dax Haslam, Robert Lee Black, Jon D. Patent number: 12182795Abstract: Authentication method and systems using RFID-enabled payment cards are disclosed herein where a server receives a request corresponding to authorization of a payment associated with a payment card from an electronic terminal. The server identifies an electronic device of a user associated with the payment card. The server then transmits an instruction to the electronic device to cause an RFID reader of the electronic device to determine whether an RFID tag corresponding to the payment card is located within a predetermined proximity to the electronic device. When the payment card is located within the predetermined proximity, the server executes a first authentication protocol. Moreover, when the payment card is not located within the predetermined proximity, the server executes a second authentication protocol, wherein the second authentication protocol is more restrictive than the first authentication protocol.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2024Date of Patent: December 31, 2024Assignee: United Services Automobile Association (USAA)Inventors: Bryan J.
