  • Patent number: 7194232
Abstract: An image forming apparatus including an intermediate transfer device capable of making a change in a degree of expansion and contraction of an intermediate transfer belt slow is provided. A position and a moving range of a cleaning roll are set in order to make a rear surface contact position on a rear surface of the intermediate transfer belt relative to the contact position where the cleaning roll comes in contact with the intermediate transfer belt, away from a cleaning backup roll while an intermediate transfer belt cleaner rocks and moves to a contact position of the cleaner. Because of the intermediate transfer belt being not sandwiched between the cleaning and backup rolls, the change in the degree of expansion and contraction of the intermediate transfer belt is made slow, and the intermediate transfer belt is kept to have the degree of expansion and contraction within a predetermined range.

  • Publication number: 20070061384
Abstract: The optimal version of a document can depend on the user's need and the presentation device, and can govern choices of content as well as style. The content needed for multiple versions of a document can be included in a single document structure and identified by means of tags or by a content selection node. Tags allow the user to specify a desired version, while selection nodes allow the content to be automatically selected, styled and formatted to optimize a set of constraints. Content alternatives may be generated automatically from original content.

  • Publication number: 20070056458
Abstract: An ink key simulator for image forming devices may simulate the effect of ink key adjustments in offset presses. The image adjustment may be made in response to activation of a simulated ink key, for example, by adjusting the pixel values of the stored data and/or by adjusting imaging light source intensity within a given region of the image. Using the ink key simulator, adjustments to image quality from printers may be made on-the-fly using an interface which is familiar to the operators of offset presses.

  • Publication number: 20070061713
Abstract: A system and method that converts legacy and proprietary documents into extended mark-up language format which treats the conversion as transforming ordered trees of one schema and/or model into ordered trees of another schema and/or model. In embodiments, the tree transformers are coded using a learning method that decomposes the converting task into three components which include path re-labeling, structural composition and input tree traversal, each of which involves learning approaches. The transformation of an input tree into an output tree may involve decomposing the input document, labeling components in the input tree with valid labels or paths from a particular output schema, composing the labeled elements into the output tree with a valid structure, and finding such a traversal of the input tree that achieves the correct composition of the output tree and applies structural rules.
