Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention introduce a novel technique to analyze and monitor video streams captured from multiple cameras. It highlights the foreground region of the video streams via local alpha blending and displays the videos in an immersive 3-D environment. The spatial arrangement of the displays can be generated by multi-dimensional scaling of the amount of simultaneous motion across different video streams. This description is not intended to be a complete description of, or limit the scope of, the invention. Other features, aspects, and objects of the invention can be obtained from a review of the specification, the figures, and the claims.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes an image element allocation unit that allocates image elements included in input image data to any of plural mutually-different coding processings, in accordance with a allocation reference, a coding unit that encodes, by the respective coding processings, the image elements allocated to the respective coding processings by the image element allocation unit, and a reference change unit that changes the allocation reference applied by the image element allocation unit.
Abstract: This invention is a method and apparatus for processing decompressed images. More particularly, this invention relates to methods and apparatus which process images without requiring information on whether the image was previously compressed or how the image was compressed. Quantization values of each image block of a decompressed image are determined a compression method used to compress a decompressed image to be processed is identified. The method and apparatus of this invention is particularly useful to determine if a decompressed image was previously compressed using a JPEG compression technique by retrieving DCT coefficients and determining quantization values to determine original DCT coefficients of a compressed and decompressed image.
Abstract: After having assembled an intermediate transfer assembly and an image carrier unit, an operator attaches a bearing to a hole section in a side frame, inserts one end of a pivotal shaft of an image carrier into the bearing attached to the hole section, turns the pivotal shaft with one end of the pivotal shaft attached to the bearing serving as a pivot, and runs the other end of the pivotal shaft through a notch in the side frame. The operator attaches a bearing to the other end of the pivotal shaft run through the notch from the axial direction of the pivotal shaft, and fixes the bearing onto the side frame by a fixing member.
Abstract: A toner process comprising mixing a colorant dispersion with a latex, a wax dispersion, and a coagulant, and wherein the latex contains a polymer with a static yield stress of from about 0.05 to about 3 dyne/cm2, a viscosity for the polymer latex of from about 5 to about 35 centipoises (cps), and wherein said toner product possesses a volume average particle size distribution index GSDv of equal to or less than about 1.27, a number average particle size distribution index GSDn of equal to or less than about 1.30, a low number average particle size index GSDn50/16 of equal to about or less than about 1.32, and a ratio of the volume average particle size distribution index GSDv to a number average particle size distribution index GSDn of from about 0.93 to about 1.
Abstract: When a security server detects an abnormality in the building by a sensor, the security server sends an abnormality notification mail that has embedded a link to image information shot by a supervision camera upon detection of an abnormality and a mail address of the security server to a portable telephone terminal and in case neither access from the portable telephone terminal to the image information nor a response mail is confirmed, determines that the abnormality mail is not confirmed by the user and notifies occurrence of the abnormality to a security center.
Abstract: What is disclosed is a method for determining a hue adjustment to an input hue, Hin, to squeeze the input hue toward a region of preferred hue, Hpref. The method involving defining a change in hue as: ?H=Hin?Hpref; defining a hue weight as a Gaussian: Hweight=Gaussian(Hpref,Hsigma) wherein the Gaussian function can be alternatively replaced by one of either the sum of two Gaussians or a Gaussian convolved with a Rect function; defining an amount of hue adjustment as: HAdjust=?H*Hweight. Then, an output hue is generated by applying the adjustment such that: Hout=Hin?HAdjust.
Abstract: A swoopy text method and system for generating and displaying curved text to connect primary source data with secondary data, including alternatively connecting different text streams, to augment the meaning of original text and/or to replace the meaning of the original text stream with secondary data.

Abstract: An improvement in a Release Agent Management system that alleviates the buildup of dirt, toner and paper debris on a wick in the system includes a metering roll, a supply of release agent material into which the wick is positioned and a pair of metering blades positioned on opposite sides of the metering roll before and after a nip formed between the metering roll and a donor roll. A first metering blade meters release agent material onto the metering roll and a second blade scrapes the surface of the metering roll to remove contaminants before the surface of the metering roll reaches the supply of release agent material in order to prevent contaminants from plugging the wick and thereby reduce the effectiveness of the wick.
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining the authoritativeness of a document based on textual, non-topical cues. The authoritativeness of a document is determined by evaluating a set of document content features contained within each document to determine a set of document content feature values, processing the set of document content feature values through a trained document textual authority model, and determining a textual authoritativeness value and/or textual authority class for each document evaluated using the predictive models included in the trained document textual authority model. Estimates of a document's textual authoritativeness value and/or textual authority class can be used to re-rank documents previously retrieved by a search, to expand and improve document query searches, to provide a more complete and robust determination of a document's authoritativeness, and to improve the aggregation of rank-ordered lists with numerically-ordered lists.

Abstract: By varying corona producing element height/projection, a more uniform charge potential is achieved. Elements, such as pins or teeth, are shorter at the edges of an element array and grow longer as one moves toward the center of the array. Such variation in height/projection overcomes shielding from adjacent teeth, as well as other effects, to yield the more uniform charging potential.

Abstract: In a network comprising printers and print servers which retain queues of print jobs, a user is able to survey and view selected portions of the network, either by enumerating printers to be queried directly, or by enumerating servers. By providing substantially simultaneous “views” of printers and queues in servers, problems within a large network can be readily isolated.
