  • Publication number: 20050117927
Abstract: An image forming apparatus for continuously printing plural images has an empirical calibration part that performs color calibration processing based on a test image printed on recording paper, a predictive calibration part that performs color calibration processing based on a reference value that has been determined in advance, and a controller that allows the empirical calibration part and the predictive calibration part to perform color calibration processing. In the case where recording paper is switched and plural images are printed, the controller allows the empirical calibration part to perform color calibration processing when predetermined type of recording paper is used, and allows the predictive calibration part to perform color calibration processing when recording paper of other type is used.

  • Patent number: 6899414
Abstract: A printhead includes plural print elements grouped in blocks. The blocks are selected by a block selection unit to which an initial value is inputted. The initial value is kept in a memory unit, and the blocks are autonomously and periodically selected by the initial value kept in the memory unit. The initial value is variable, and the block selection unit changes the order of selected blocks using the changed initial value. Thus, displacement in the main scanning direction resulting from the periodically selected blocks can be eliminated.

  • Patent number: 6901226
Abstract: In a xerographic printer including a fuser having a heating element, a first predetermined power level is applied to the heating element. The voltage associated with the heating element is measured, yielding an output code which is applied to a look-up table. The output of the look-up table relates to power to be applied to the heating element in a time interval T going forward: the output sets forth what power level is to be applied to the heating element for a smaller interval t within interval T, and what power level is to be applied to the heating element for the balance of the interval T.

  • Patent number: 6900907
Abstract: To avoid the image artifacts of a uniform drop-per-pixel, a drop assignment overlap is introduced. Larger and lower drops are printed simultaneously to represent uniform gray level. The regions at which the first number of drops and the second number of drops are put down overlap. Thus, a pattern in which a uniform number of drops is put down at every pixel is eliminated, and a pattern of overlapping first and second drops is obtained.

  • Patent number: 6900819
Abstract: A system for automatic emphasis of freeform annotations contained within an electronic document is performed based on a determined importance of each annotation. The importance of each annotation is determined by a mark parser that groups, types and ranks each of the annotations. A weighted value is assigned to each grouped, ranked and typed annotation based on temporal and spatial information. The display characteristics of the weighted annotation is altered based on the weighted value.

  • Patent number: 6901553
Abstract: A specific access space for each user is selectively specified in the hypertext space having mutual link relation between one or more hypertexts provided by one or more servers. An analysis unit interprets a page request from a user and extracts the URL and space identification information of the requested page information. A page information request unit requests for the page information to be referred to by the extracted URL to the WWW server. A specific information addition unit takes out the link comment data corresponding to the space identification information and synthesizes a page by adding the comment to the received page information. The page synthesized page information instead of the requested page information is returned to the requester user.

  • Patent number: 6901170
Abstract: An image processing apparatus and a recording medium which can improve the quality of a color document image. Smoothing conditions which are defined by three parameters of “filter size”, “offset”, and “overlap” are set. An edge image which was generated in an edge detection processing is referred to, and a determination is made as to whether an edge pixel exists in a noticed region. When the edge pixel does not exist in the noticed region, a smoothing processing is carried out. When the edge pixel exists in the noticed region, it is determined inappropriate to effect the smoothing processing, and the process goes to a subsequent processing without effecting the smoothing processing. The processing is carried out until the image scanning ends. When the image scanning ends, the next smoothing conditions are set and the processing which is the same as the one described above is performed.

  • Publication number: 20050110820
Abstract: A thermally-conductive fluid ejector carriage device is used to dissipate heat from a thermal fluid ejector module in a fluid ejection device. The thermally-conductive fluid ejector carriage device is molded from a polymer, or a polymer material including at least one thermally-conductive filler material. The thermal fluid ejector module is brought into contact with the thermally-conducting polymer carriage to dissipate heat. The polymer can be a highly thermally-conductive polymer. A method of manufacturing the thermally-conductive polymer carriage includes molding the carriage at least partially from a polymer that includes thermally-conductive filler materials, and contacting the thermally-conducting polymer carriage with the fluid ejector module. A method for use of the thermally-conductive fluid ejector carriage device includes establishing a heat flow path from the fluid ejector module to ambient air through the thermally-conductive fluid ejector carriage device.

  • Publication number: 20050114760
Abstract: A document management system includes one or more document repositories for storing documents and a document notification and delivery service (DNDS) for detecting documents pertaining to subjects that are stored in the document repositories. A plurality of workflow modules subscribe to the DNDS to receive documents identified that pertain to subscribed subjects. At least two workflow modules produce documents that are published to the document repositories. Further, a first workflow module publishes to one of the document repositories a first document which is detected by the DNDS and which pertains to at least one subscribed subject of a second workflow module. Subsequent to the publication of the first document by the DNDS to the one of the document repositories, the DNDS delivers the first document to the second workflow module that operates independent from the first workflow module to produce a second document.
