  • Patent number: 6748987
Abstract: An improved portable work bench includes a structural body, and a platform disposed on and frictionally contacting the structural body. In addition, the platform includes an override mechanism for allowing horizontal movement of the platform along the structural body. Further, the portable work bench may include a plurality of legs for supporting the structural body. The structural body may be tubular and preferably has a trapezoidal cross-section. Such work bench can be used by disposing the platform on the structural body, so that the platform frictionally contacts the structural body. Then the user can mechanically override the static friction between the platform and the structural body and move the platform horizontally along the structural body.

  • Patent number: 6749056
Abstract: Method and device for resetting the position of pins in trays with pins for supporting objects to be clad inside presses, comprising a tray arranged on a substantially horizontal plane and in which there are multiple receptacles having a substantially vertical axis, each receptacle accommodating a pin provided with a head protruding from the upper face of the tray. The pins form with their heads a supporting surface for the lower face of the object to be placed in the press. Each pin has elastic means that keep the pin in a raised position and are flexible so as to allow the pin to pass from the raised position to a lowered position or vice versa. The method consists in making the tray slide along a resetting surface having, along its extension, a region raised with respect to a plane that is parallel to the plane of arrangement of the tray.

  • Patent number: 6745680
Abstract: A large round baler is equipped with a chassis, including an outer pair of fixed side walls, that extend rearwardly beyond a pair of inner side walls which form opposite sides of a baling chamber. In an upper region of the baler, belts or the like are supported by a plurality of fixed rotary bodies extending either between the inner or the outer side walls and a movable rotary body carried at the end of a pivotally mounted tension arm, to form a large take-up loop that becomes smaller as a run of the belts expands during growth of the bale being formed. The run of belts, which is looped about the bale being formed, is conducted over rollers carried by a vertically pivoted frame, such that when the frame is swung between a lower extreme position, which it occupies during formation of a bale to a raised position, the formed bale is deposited on the ground.

Abstract: A device for draining liquid from canned goods includes a compression lever pivotally connected to a base lever. The base lever includes a support surface extending between opposed ends for tabletop use. The base lever includes an end wall perpendicular to the support surface. The compression lever is pivotally coupled to the end wall. A handle is attached to the base lever at its free end, a can receiving section being defined between the handle and end wall. The device includes a piston having a perforated disk and connected to the compression lever in a ball joint/socket relationship. Therefore, a can may be positioned on the can receiving section and the compression lever and piston operated to drain liquid from the can. Multiple socket positions and pivot point configuration provide for a maximum leverage ratio while the support surface configuration allows for stable, one-handed operation of the device.

  • Patent number: 6746316
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for planarizing a microelectronic-device substrate assembly on a planarizing pad. In one aspect of the invention, material is removed from the substrate assembly by pressing the substrate assembly against a planarizing surface of a planarizing pad and moving the substrate assembly across the planarizing surface through a planarizing zone. The method also includes replacing at least a portion of a used volume of planarizing solution on the planarizing surface with fresh planarizing solution during the planarization cycle of a single substrate assembly. The used planarizing solution can be replaced with fresh planarizing solution by actively removing the used planarizing solution from the pad with a removing unit and depositing fresh planarizing solution onto the pad in the planarizing zone.

  • Patent number: 6735995
Abstract: A shaping device for producing a U-shaped conductor includes a holding portion, a feeding portion, a core metal portion and a shaping portion. The core metal portion includes a core metal and an upper guide portion. The core metal forms a die. The upper guide portion restrains upward movement of the conductor material during the shaping operation. The shaping portion includes a shaping element and a lower guide. The shaping element shapes the conductor material into the U-shape by urging the conductor material along the core metal. The lower guide restrains downward movement of the conductor material during the shaping operation. It is possible to move the shaping element downwardly after the conductor material is shaped into the U-shape. The conductor material can be fed forward without returning the shaping element to its initial position.
