  • Patent number: 4655408
Abstract: A continuous loop tape cassette for use with an external tape player/recorder apparatus, having a cassette base, a cover and a separate tape guide positioned therebetween. The separate tape guide includes an elongated bridge molded of a low friction plastic and having substantially planar top and bottom surfaces, left and right ends with curved, relatively flat, front surfaces which are slightly slanted relative to the substantially planar top and bottom bridge surfaces, and a flange formed integrally of the front top surface of each end. In addition, locating holes are formed at each left and right end to receive corresponding projections formed on the cassette base and to orient the bridge relative to the tape cassette. Finally, there is provided between the left and right ends a leaf spring having a relatively soft, tape contacting member thereon for exerting a uniform pressure on the running tape as it crosses the magnetic head of the external tape player/recorder apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4651974
Abstract: A continuous winch with two, drums at least one of which is driven and is provided with a multiple groove configuration with one discharge groove for the non-loaded cable. The non-loaded, running-off, or discharging cable in the discharge groove is capable of being stressed or tensioned transverse to the discharge direction. The discharge groove is limited by a tensioning disc which is spring-loaded in the tensioning direction. The tensioning disc is capable of being lifted from the cable counter to spring-loading by a hydraulically engaged stroke piston. The cable exit groove, which is located opposite the discharge groove in the axial direction of the drums, is limited by a clamping disc, which is capable of being tensioned by a hydraulic pressure piston against the cable. The stroke piston of the tensioning disc, and the pressure piston of the clamping disc, are coupled by a hydraulic control and are capable of being engaged by pressure in opposite directions with respect to the cable.

  • Patent number: 4651949
Abstract: A fishing reel includes a spool having a pair of flanges and a drag disc which are disposed opposite to each other, with a contact plate interposed between the spool flange and the drag disc. One of the spool and drag disc is moved axially with respect to the other to transmit a driving force to the spool. The contact plate is brought into contact at a radially intermediate portion thereof with the flange or the drag disc. At the radially inward and outward portions on both sides of the contact portion of the contact plate are provided gaps into which the contact plate can be axially shifted with respect to the spool flange or the drag disc.

  • Patent number: 4650131
Abstract: A method and a device for winding wire spools for electric machines allow rapid change of the delivery spools (28, 28a). The wire lead of a new delivery spool is affixed in a holder (48, 48a) ready for the connection. The remainder of wire length of the preceding delivery spool is measured and winding nozzle (14) of the winding device is stopped at the time point when the wire length required for completion of a spool is found between the winding nozzle and the attachment point (48, 56). Then wire (20) is cut off at the attachment point, and the wire end to the rear is connected by means of a wire connection unit (56) with the ready wire lead of the next delivery spool.

  • Patent number: 4650134
Abstract: A dual anti-reverse and self-centering mechanism is disclosed for use in an open face style spinning reel. The mechanism provides for multiple stop positions for the reel rotor in a counterclockwise direction. The mechanism also provides a centering position for the rotor with the bail located in the most advantageous position for pivoting to the casting position. Both functions can be enabled by actuating an actuator for the bail centering mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4645137
Abstract: A drag control for a spinning reel includes a disc that rotates with the main shaft. A primary drag plunger is moved against one side of the disc to establish the preset drag. The secondary drag plunger directly opposing the primary plunger is mounted on a cam follower, and a hand-operated cam moves the follower selectively toward or away from the disc. The cam is tapered from side to side so that a different range of movement will be imparted to the cam follower, depending upon the circumference of that portion of the cam engaged by the cam follower.

  • Patent number: 4643367
Abstract: The tool of the invention includes a wire packing element which is set in abutment with the side of carding wire being wound onto a carding drum end forces the other side of the wire into abutting fit with the previously wound wrap of wire. While so doing, the tool subjects the portion of wire just received by the drum's surface to numerous impacts while still forcing the aforesaid abutments. It is believed that these impacts alternating with reliefs from the added force causes the wire to shift minutely to attain the stablest configuration which would then not shift during use of the clothed carding cylinder but retain the desired patterning of points through long termed use.

  • Patent number: 4640470
Abstract: The invention is incorporated into a reel of the type having a reel housing with a deck plate, a line carrying spool and spinner head assembly mounted forwardly of the deck plate. According to the invention, a feathering element is mounted forwardly of an adjustably relative to the deck plate. Biasing structure urges the feathering element away from the spinner head assembly. An adjustable actuating button urges the feathering element against the bias force toward the spinner head assembly so that the line is trapped between the feathering element and spinner head assembly. The feathering structure is located primarily rearwardly of the spinner head assembly so that the structure is independent of the normal reel structure, yet compact.

  • Patent number: 4637569
Abstract: A feathering and braking member is provided on the spinner head assembly associated with a spin cast reel and follows fore and aft movement of the spinner head assembly during normal operation of the reel. The feathering and braking member has a ring body and a forwardly facing, deformable ring edge which ring edge, upon encountering the inside surface of the reel cover, causes light line feathering. The ring edge is deformable so that upon the application of further forward pressure upon the spinner head assembly, the ring deforms to provide a greater contact area between the ring and the inside surface of the front cover so that feathering is increased.

  • Patent number: 4635872
Abstract: A device for tensioning core tubes, especially core tubes for webs of paper or similar materials, consists of several tensioning segments in the shape of arcs of a hollow cylinder. The segments can be displaced radially inside a cage and are distributed around an arbor. Supports are positioned between the arbor and the tensioning segments in circumferential grooves on the surface of the arbor. The cross section of the arbor is an equilateral polygon in the vicinity of the grooves. The side of each support that faces a tensioning segment is spherical and is inserted into a corresponding hemispherical depression in the inner surface of the tensioning segment. The side of each support that faces the arbor has a contact surface that matches the cross-section of the floor of the groove.

  • Patent number: 4634074
Abstract: This spinning type fishing reel includes a spool for carrying a coil of fishing line, a rotor which can be rotated in a forwards rotational direction for winding fishing line onto the spool, and a means for rotationally coupling the rotor to the spool, when the rotor is rotating in the reverse rotational direction to the forward rotational direction, so as in this case also to rotate the spool in the reverse rotational direction. Thereby, when the rotor and the spool are thus rotated in the reverse rotational direction, twisting which may have taken place in the fishing line may be cancelled by untwisting the fishing line again. The coupling means may be actuatable according to the desire of the fisherman, or alternatively may be always in operation. A braking means may be provided for braking this reverse rotation.
