Abstract: When building sets of mobile stations in a radio communication network, reference signals are transmitted from a base station to at least two mobile stations to determine channel properties of a downlink channel between the base station and the at least two mobile stations. First and second feedback information are determined at the at least two mobile stations respectively, each feedback information comprising a first component indicating a channel quality. The first and the second feedback information are transmitted from the first and second mobile stations to the base station. A mobile station set is built according to the first and the second feedback information at the base station, wherein the channel quality is a parameter of a downlink beam with a largest received carrier power of at least three downlink beams of said downlink channel.

Abstract: A system determines bandwidth use by queues in a network device. To do this, the system determines an instantaneous amount of bandwidth used by each of the queues and an average amount of bandwidth used by each of the queues. The system then identifies bandwidth use by each of the queues based on the instantaneous bandwidth used and the average bandwidth used by each of the queues.
Abstract: A wireless network device includes modulation modules, each configured to receive a data stream and modulate the data stream to generate a modulated data stream. A matrix module generates a multiplexing matrix based on channel conditions between the wireless network device and each of a plurality of client stations, and applies the multiplexing matrix to each of the modulated data streams to generate multiplexed data streams. The wireless network device also includes summing modules, each configured to sum at least two of the multiplexed data streams to generate a transmit data stream. A first transmitter transmits a first one of the transmit data streams during a downlink transmission period to a first one of the client stations. A second transmitter transmits a second one of the transmit data streams to a second one of the client stations while the first transmitter transmits the first one of the transmit data streams.

Abstract: In general, the invention is directed to techniques for improving memory utilization in a priority queuing system of a network device. More specifically, a priority queue memory management system is described in which memory pages are assigned to the various priority queues in order to implement an efficient first in, first out (FIFO) functionality. The dynamic memory techniques described herein allow the multiple priority queues to share a common memory space. As a result, each priority queue does not require a pre-allocated amount of memory that matches the aggregate size of the packets that must be buffered by the queue.

Abstract: Terminal management means stores information with respect to a terminal that joins a delivery service provided in each cell in a context that serves to manage the information with respect to the terminal. Terminal counting means counts the number of terminals that joins the delivery service in the each cell on the basis of each service using the context stored in the terminal management means. Bearer determination means determines whether to use a point-to-point bearer or a point-to-multipoint bearer for the delivery service in the each cell based on the number of terminals counted by the terminal counting means.
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of detecting a faulty network element in a network, the network comprising at least a plurality of first network elements having a first network element type, and at least a plurality of second network elements having a second network element type.
Abstract: A pipeline scheduler provides a minimum bandwidth guarantee by transporting cells from an input port to an output port in a two-phased approach. Cells that conform to a minimum cell rate (MCR) are selected from queues at the input port and arranged into supercells for transport to the output port, followed by nonconforming cells, to guarantee fairness by using scheduling modules to build the supercells first for conforming cells, and then for nonconforming cells. Reservation vectors are used to permit the same time slot of the next frame to be reserved by a first queue, and the same time slot of the following time frame to be held for reservation by a second queue, to ensure equal time slot access by the first and second queues over successive time frames.
Abstract: Techniques for transmitting UE-specific reference signals (UE-RSs) in a wireless network are described. In an aspect, a UE-RS may be transmitted in different manners depending on the number of layers used for data transmission. In one design, a cell may determine subcarriers for a UE-RS based on a frequency shift if data is transmitted on one layer and based on a predetermined set of subcarriers (with no frequency shift) if data is transmitted on multiple layers. In another aspect, a UE-RS may be transmitted on subcarriers determined based on a frequency shift for data transmission on multiple layers. In yet another aspect, a UE-RS may be transmitted from a plurality of cells to a UE for coordinated multi-point (CoMP). In yet another aspect, a UE-RS may be transmitted in a data section of a subframe including only the data section.
Abstract: A virtual private network (VPN) over a telecommunications network is created by sending a request from a first VPN device to a second VPN device for establishing a VPN between the first and second VPN devices. The request includes a first signed certificate having a verified VPN parameter for the first VPN device. A reply is received at the first VPN device from the second VPN device that includes a second signed certificate having a verified VPN parameter for the second VPN device. The VPN is established between the first and second VPN devices based on each verified VPN parameter for each of the first and second VPN devices.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a receiver including a demodulation circuit adapted to demodulate data and control information attached to the data, and an extraction circuit adapted to extract some data from entire control information, wherein the demodulation circuit performs demodulation according to the extracted some data.
Abstract: Systems and methods of enhanced real-time communications between WiFi devices. In one embodiment of the present invention a method for enhanced payload protection in a WiFi system includes transmitting multiple copies of data packets in successive frame body transmissions. In another embodiment, a method for enhanced communications over a WiFi link includes examining a unit ID packet to determine a destination of a data payload when errors are detected in IP and/or MAC headers. If a destination is determined, the packet is corrected and forwarded to the device based on the unit ID determination. In another embodiment, a method for enhanced real-time communications in a WiFi network includes establishing a communications frame that includes an active timeslot, preferably based on U-APSD, for a WiFi device to use for transmission of successive audio data packets transmitted between the WiFi handset and AP.

Abstract: An approach provides interdomain traversal to support packetized voice transmissions. A request for establishing a voice call is received from a source endpoint behind a first network address translator of a first domain, wherein the request specifies a directory number of a destination endpoint within a second domain. A network address is determined for communicating with the destination endpoint based on the directory number. Additionally, existence of a second network address translator within the second domain is determined. If the network address can be determined, a media path is established between the source endpoint and the destination endpoint based on the network address to support the voice call.
