Abstract: Systems and methods for performing personalized operations of a mobile device are provided. An example method includes determining a user-defined signature has been received. The user-defined signature can include a combination of an acoustic input and non-acoustic input. The method can further include performing, in response to the determination, operations of the mobile device, the operations being associated with the user-defined signature. Exemplary acoustic input includes a voice sound with at least one spoken keyword. The spoken keyword is used to identify the operations. Exemplary non-acoustic input includes motions of the mobile device detected by an accelerometer, a gyroscope, and a magnetometer. Exemplary motions include vibrations of the mobile device, tapping the mobile device, rotations of the mobile device, movements of the mobile device as to draw a figure in a space.

Abstract: At an electronic device having access to a plurality of data objects: displaying a viewport comprising graphical representations of a first subset of the plurality of data objects that are ordered. While displaying the graphical representations of the first subset, the device receives a request to navigate through graphical representations of the plurality of data objects in the viewport. The request is associated with an input magnitude. In response to the request: generate a layout for a second subset of the plurality of data objects based on the input magnitude and an anchor within the plurality of data objects that was selected based on user input; and changing the content of the viewport by displaying graphical representations of the data objects of the second subset according to the layout.

Abstract: An electronic apparatus for and a method of executing an application in an electronic apparatus having a first operation mode in which a desktop application is operated, and a second operation mode in which a windows store application is operated are provided. The electronic apparatus and method include a storage unit configured to store a plurality of applications, a management unit configured to manage a list for a windows store application to be displayed in response to entering a first operation mode among the plurality of applications stored in the storage unit, a user interface unit configured to display an icon corresponding to the windows store application included in the list in response to entering the first operation mode, and receive selection for the displayed icon, and a controller configured to operate the windows store application corresponding to the selected icon.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method and an electronic device for information processing. The electronic device comprises a sensing unit and a display unit having a display area. The display unit displays a graphical interface. The display area displays a first part of the graphical interface. The method comprises: detecting a first operation by the sensing unit when the display unit displays the first part of the graphical interface; displaying the second part of the graphical interface on the display unit in response to the first operation; detecting a second operation; determining whether a preset condition is satisfied during the detecting of the second operation to obtain first decision information; and displaying a speech control on the display unit when the first decision information indicates that the preset condition is satisfied during the detecting of the second operation.

Abstract: A device that generates suggested command completions for a distributed storage system is described. In an exemplary embodiment, the device receives a command token from a management client, wherein the command token is a partial command for the distributed storage system. In addition, the device retrieves a plurality of complete commands for the distributed storage system; wherein one of the plurality of complete commands includes a parameter based on a current configuration of the distributed storage system. The device further determines a subset of the plurality of complete commands that match the command token. The device sends the subset of the plurality of complete commands to the management client.

Abstract: A method for real-time capture of analytics from real users of a native mobile application (app) includes storing a custom metric/timer definition for a native mobile application (app) in a configuration file on a server. The custom metric/timer definition includes one or more identifiers of an element or object of the native mobile app selected by touch gesture input via a user interface on a mobile device running the native mobile app in a special mode. The configuration file is downloaded from the server to real users running the native mobile app on associated mobile devices. Immediately thereafter, one or more collector servers receive data beaconed in real-time from the associated mobile devices of the real users. The beaconed data includes custom metric/timer data obtained from the custom metric/timer definition.

Abstract: A terminal device, which can reduce a calculation amount for displaying an annotation text, an annotation method, a computer system, and a computer program. Abstract: A list of contacts or other files displayed on a computer device may be customized such that an order of the list, or a visual appearance of one or more of the files in the list, may indicate the extent of a user's behavior or activity with regard to the one or more files. The list may be reordered based on the frequency or recency of events associated with such behavior or activity, thereby causing more frequently or recently accessed files to be ranked higher in a list, and less frequently or recently accessed files to be ranked lower in the list. Additionally, an aspect of the appearances of the files in the list may be modified to reflect a frequency or recency with which events associated with one or more of the files have occurred.

Abstract: A graphical user interface made up of icons representing individual files and collectively forming the shape of a “v” is described along with methods of using and creating the graphical user interface. The v-shaped interface is useful to display detailed information about many of the items in a list and facilitates manipulation of list order and selection of the active file in the list. The interface further permits the use of a representative icon associated with the list as a whole. Manipulation of the representative icon can cause modification or replacement of the entire playlist represented by the icon.

Abstract: Techniques are described for scrolling through a data table containing a list of items. A portion of a list of items can be presented in a container. During scrolling, selected items can become locked to a boundary of the container. When an item becomes locked, the item remains at a fixed position within the container, even during scrolling. A second container configured to present locked items can be generated once a predefined number of selected items have become locked within the container. The locked item can be moved from the container to the second container, thus freeing up available space within the container for the scrolling of items within the data table.

Abstract: A work station for monitoring and control of an industrial process includes a human machine interface unit for presenting the industrial process in process graphics for an operator. The interface unit is communicatively and operatively connectable to an industrial process, and the work station is provided with a shortcut navigator for coupling a key of a physical keyboard to a process graphic or entity of a process graphic. The shortcut navigator includes a presenter, which is adapted to present a virtual keyboard in the process graphic, and an assigner, which is adapted to assign a shortcut to the currently presented process graphic or entity of the process graphic. The shortcut couples a specific key of the physical keyboard to the presented process graphic, or to the process graphic of the entity, respectively. A method, system, and computer program for monitoring and controlling an industrial process is also provided.

Abstract: A system and method are disclosed. A user input device may be configured to receive an input from a user. A visual display may be configured to display interface elements in a frame configured to scroll along a first axis based on the input as received by the user input device being substantially along the first axis and to switch display of interface elements of a subset of the interface elements between an unselected configuration and a selected configuration in response to a first input as received by the user input device being substantially along a second axis orthogonal to the first axis. The visual display may not switch display of the interface elements between the unselected configuration and the selected configuration based on the input along the first axis without first receiving the first input along the second axis.

Abstract: A method of processing messages executes at a computing device having one or more processors and memory. The memory stores one or more programs for execution by the one or more processors. Upon identification of a message subset in the plurality of messages pertaining to an event of a first event type or a first entity, an action associated with the message subset is executed thereby obtaining content from a data source distinct from the messages. A graphic compilation is formatted for display in the user in-box of a messaging application. A first portion of the compilation comprises the distinct data source content, a second portion of the compilation lists event items associated with the event or first entity extracted from the message subset, and a third portion of the compilation lists a plurality of objects, each of which is a synopsis of a message in the message subset.

Abstract: Techniques for customizing a user interface are described. An application having the user interface is executed with style configuration mode enabled. A first user interface element of the user interface is selected for customization. First information is displayed regarding one or more properties of the first user interface element. The properties of the first user interface element are modifiable by specifying a new property value for the property. A visual aspect of the first user interface element is customized by specifying a first updated value for a first of the properties. An updated display is rendered that includes an updated first user interface element. The updated first user interface element is the first user interface element rendered in accordance with the first updated value for the first property. The first updated value for the first property is automatically stored in a first file including customized property values.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention sets forth a technique for generating design variations. The technique involves identifying a first design variable and a second design variable associated with a first design. The technique further involves generating a first plurality of design variations based on the first design. Each design variation is generated by varying at least one of the first design variable and the second design variable. Finally, the technique involves causing the first plurality of design variations to be displayed to a user.

Abstract: An apparatus for displaying a thumbnail of a panoramic photo is provided. The apparatus includes a camera configured to capture a photo in a panorama photography mode, a controller configured to control a thumbnail image to be created by reducing the panoramic photo shot by the camera module by a predetermined first factor, and a display unit configured to display the thumbnail image on a screen. The controller controls the thumbnail image to be updated by further reducing the thumbnail image by a second factor to fit in a displayable screen range of the display unit if a width of the thumbnail image exceeds the displayable screen range as a shooting angle of the panoramic photo shot by the camera module increases, and controls the updated thumbnail image to be displayed on the screen.
