Abstract: Method, apparatus, and articles of manufacture for presenting a decision user interface to a first member of a social network service, receiving information identifying a set of interests of the first member entered at the decision user interface, searching at least one of the group consisting or profiles of members of the social network service and user decision interfaces presented to members of the social network service and, responsive to searching, providing information relating to the set of interests to the first member. The set of interests may include a field of study or an organization or an academic degree.

Abstract: The present disclosure proposes a reminder generating method and a mobile electronic device using the same method. In one of the exemplary embodiments, the mobile electronic device would include a display and a processor coupled to the display and is configured for displaying a first user interface of an application on a display of the mobile electronic device, converting a data source into a data stream by using the first application, receiving a keyword extracted from the data stream, analyzing the keyword to generate within the first user interface a second user interface which includes at least a first information based on the keyword, and storing the first information after the first information has been confirmed and established by the user.

Abstract: A method for conducting a communications session (e.g., a teleconference) may include: displaying, by a client device, a communications interface that may include a first canvas, a second canvas, and a content browser. The first canvas may be arranged to display a media stream. The second canvas may be arranged to display a sequence of content items that may be provided by a communications system (e.g., a teleconferencing system). The content browser may be arranged to display identifiers for one or more files that are associated with the teleconference. The method may further include detecting a first input that moves a file from the content browser onto the second canvas, and in response to the first input, transmitting from the client device to the communications system, an instruction to generate a new sequence of content items based on at least a portion of the file.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes determining, relative to a base user experience (UX), one or more modifications to one or more graphical elements of a user interface (UI) for display to a particular user. The modifications are configured to personalize the UI individually to the particular user and based on a computational determination of one or more categories applicable to the particular user. The method also includes applying the modifications to the UI; and providing the UI as modified for display to the particular user.

Abstract: One or more embodiments of a digital content system allow a user to conveniently search and/or navigate through a collection of digital content items. In particular, a user can interact with a client device to search for and identify one or more digital content items within a collection of digital content items. For example, the digital content system may provide a photo from a collection of photos via a graphical user interface. The digital content system can receive a user input identifying a selection of one or more visual features within the photo. Based on the selected visual feature(s), the digital content system may identify photos from the collection of photos that include the identified visual feature(s) and provide access to the identified photos via the graphical user interface.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system for presenting media content. A user device (such as a personal computer, tablet, or smart phone) receives media elements from a media repository. The media repository may be remote. The device displays references associated with the media elements in a display area. The device outputs media content (e.g., music or video) associated with each of the media elements for a limited duration (e.g., 30 seconds). While outputting, the references displayed in the display area are scrolled. The display area may be provided as a 3D drum.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to systems and methods for collecting content items displayed on a user device and combining them into a folder using a multiple finger gesture. The user device may also use a multiple finger gesture to disassociate the content items from the folder. In other embodiments, the user device may use a combination of gestures and voice commands to collect or disassociate content items.

The image is panned in response to movement of the selection tool along the touch-sensitive display. The image is zoomed on in response to depression of the touch-sensitive display. An optional cursor may be activated upon detection of a first tap of the selection tool on the touch-sensitive display.

Abstract: A method of annotating a digital clip and setting a duration over which the annotation applies is disclosed. The method provides a graphical user interface (GUI) with a display area for displaying the digital clip. The GUI provides controls for entering notes, including graphical notes, on the clip. The GUI also provides controls for setting the duration for which the annotation applies.

Abstract: Techniques for previewing portions of the content item using an electronic device include displaying a first portion of the content item, receiving input from a user indicative of a desire to browse a second portion of the content item different than the first portion, and displaying a preview window illustrating the second portion of the content item in response to the input. The preview window may enable the user to simultaneously view the second portion illustrated therein as well as at least part of the first portion. In addition, a viewing position of the user may be maintained at a location of the first portion in the content item while the second portion is illustrated in the preview window. Accordingly, the user may not lose context of the first portion of the content item while the viewing the second portion.

Abstract: Embodiments are disclosed that relate to providing feedback for a level of completion of a user gesture via a cursor displayed on a user interface. One disclosed embodiment provides a method comprising displaying a cursor having a visual property and moving a screen-space position of the cursor responsive to the user gesture. The method further comprises changing the visual property of the cursor in proportion to a level of completion of the user gesture. In this way, the level of completion of the user gesture may be presented to the user in a location to which the attention of the user is directed during performance of the gesture.

The method for executing a function executing command through a gesture input includes displaying a keyboard window for inputting text and a text input field for displaying the text inputted by the keyboard window on a touch screen display; recognizing a gesture input performed in the text input field; and executing a function executing command corresponding to the gesture input only when the text displayed in the text input field is not selected. A user can intuitively execute function executing commands by recognizing a gesture input in a text input field with ease when the function executing command is input through a touch screen display.
