Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention sets forth a technique for generating design variations. The technique involves identifying a first design variable and a second design variable associated with a first design. The technique further involves generating a first plurality of design variations based on the first design. Each design variation is generated by varying at least one of the first design variable and the second design variable. Finally, the technique involves causing the first plurality of design variations to be displayed to a user.

Abstract: An apparatus for displaying a thumbnail of a panoramic photo is provided. The apparatus includes a camera configured to capture a photo in a panorama photography mode, a controller configured to control a thumbnail image to be created by reducing the panoramic photo shot by the camera module by a predetermined first factor, and a display unit configured to display the thumbnail image on a screen. The controller controls the thumbnail image to be updated by further reducing the thumbnail image by a second factor to fit in a displayable screen range of the display unit if a width of the thumbnail image exceeds the displayable screen range as a shooting angle of the panoramic photo shot by the camera module increases, and controls the updated thumbnail image to be displayed on the screen.

Abstract: A method and system for graphic manipulation is provided. The graphic manipulation can be performed using a graphic manipulator that can have three mutually perpendicular axes indicators and a plurality of action icons associated with one or more of the axes. The graphic manipulator can be oriented with respect to axes of the object being manipulated. Based on the specific orientation of the graphic manipulator, and based on the selection of portions of the manipulated object some of the axis indicators and the plurality of action icons can be displayed and/or not displayed.

Abstract: A novel keyboard interface and input method are described. The interface is driven by a dynamic, general-purpose typing and data-entry software application, with a reduced number of keys to minimize screen real-estate requirements, especially for mobile devices. At any given time, the interface presents base characters with built-in key points on or around the base characters that can be selected and/or swiped to generate characters. The key points are strategically placed based on the intuitiveness of such placements, reducing the curve for learning how to use the interface. Its advantage over other methods of input such as handwriting, voice and gesture recognition is that it is less prone to error and privacy issues. The interface occupies a dramatically smaller area of the screen compared to traditional on-screen keyboards and can provide alternate placement as well as transparency to reveal text or images underneath.
