Abstract: Apparatus and method for cleaning soldering irons in which a soldering tip of the type having capillary passages is provided with a tiny passageway through the wall of the tip into the upper portion of the capillary passages through which solder and other debris can be expelled from the tip by vapor pressure. Solder collected by capillary action in a cavity in the tip is expelled through the tublar passageway communicating with the capillary passageways when the working end of the soldering tip is pressed lightly on a moistened sponge. The sponge is mounted in a receptacle which has first and second reservoirs containing water and high temperature oil, respectively. The sponge is kept moist by a wick which extends down into the water. The reservoir containing the high temperature oil has a small access hole which supports a soldering iron with the tip substantially submerged in the oil when not in use.
Abstract: A correction device for typewritten material for correcting type errors when using typewriter ribbons having a non-absorbent, non-penetrating, non-wetting ink. The device includes a wax pick-off rod mounted for advancement and retracted in a casing. A resiliently mounted cutting blade is provided for cutting a flat end on the rod to facilitate pick-off of an incorrectly typed character and for again providing a clean pick-off surface by cutting a fresh flat end after use.
Abstract: A foot to be cleaned is placed on a treadle in a housing. In response to depression of the treadle, a bellows is pressurized causing a foot cleaning solution to be dispensed from the bellows to a conduit. A port in the conduit is positioned above a pair of horizontally disposed, rotatable brushes that are located beyond the forward end of the treadle. In response to the treadle being depressed by the heel of the foot, the bellows is compressed and the solution is dispensed through the port onto the foot via an obstructed flow path. The brushes are positioned so that the toes of the foot being cleaned can be inserted through a gap between the brushes. The gap is approximately horizontally aligned with the upper surface of the treadle.
Abstract: A paint roller or ceiling brush handle which is specially adapted to fit an individual's grip and accordingly has two curved circumferential surfaces forming two of the opposite gripping surfaces, such surfaces being joined by opposite circumferentially arched surfaces, convexly shaped. Brush handle is proportioned to be of a length substantially equal to an average adult hand width and the handle is proportioned to fit anatomically the grip of the holder.
Abstract: A collapsible dust pan is disclosed wherein the user has the ability by a remote control means to keep the dust pan in a lowered position or to raise the dust pan and hold it in an upright position for storage. The dust pan is a hinged pan so that the pan itself can be folded against the upright portion of the handle for easy storage.
Abstract: A mop for dusting use having and an excellent washing resistance employing a special thick cotton folded yarn as mop-head piles, the folded yarn but having a loose twist just within a specific range of twist number calculated from the formulas exhibited in the instant specification and are mercerized under the specific conditions to be contracted over 10 to 30% of the original yarn length. The dimensional and configurational stabilization and fixation of the twisted form of folded yarn are the intended aim of the mercerizing treatment, which realize the retainment of the twisted form, pliability and free mobility of individual pile in mop-head, even though the mop is subjected to severe washing treatment repeatedly.
Abstract: A cleaning device for use on car windshields and shoes, the device being of the type having the cleaning elements mounted on a head carried by a manually engageable handle. The cleaning elements include a sponge, a window squeegee, a shoe scraper, and a shoe cleaning brush.
Abstract: A cleaning composition with anti-microbial properties and for use in cleansing metal, plastic, or glass surfaces, the mixture includes a surfactant, an emulsifier, an anti-microbe, all intermixed in a liquid carrier. This composition is most effective when used in combination with a brush design having a cloth cover whose projecting filaments form a pile that are maintained angularly, and which when brushed against said pile effectively loosens dirt particles from the foregoing type surfaces. In a method of use of this invention, the cleaning composition may be applied to the leading edge of said brush pile, with the brush then being moved in a rolling action upon the surface being cleaned, as for example, phonograph record surfaces, thereby to effectively clean any dirt or microbial particles that may be clogging the micro-grooves of the same.
