  • Patent number: 4079478
Abstract: A device for cleaning the human tongue is disclosed and includes an elongate handle having a support frame extending from one end thereof and a fibrous cleaning member slidably carried on the support frame. The opposed end of the handle is disposed substantially normal to the longitudinal axis of the handle to form a pistol grip or handle. The cleaning member is carried by the support frame in depending tracks and is slidable along the longitudinal axis of the tool so that when the fibrous cleaning member is brought into contact with the dorsum or top surface of the tongue and either held in place and the tongue moved against it or being moved back and forth against the tongue, the fibrous material is capable of removing foreign matter which might otherwise remain on the surface thereof.

  • Patent number: 4077083
Abstract: A sponge mop retainer is attached to the end of a handle with a sponge member removably secured within the retainer. The retainer keeps the sponge member from rolling out when the mop is in use by tending to adhere to a surface while it allows the sponge member to be removed when the sponge member is worn out or dirty. The sponge member has four opposed longitudinal slits, one on each of four opposed surfaces. The retainer has a top wall and two side walls with the bottom edges of the two side walls having flanges which project inwardly, substantially toward one another. The free edges of each of the flanges have enlargements, substantially along their length, of a greater thickness than the thickness of the flanges which are engaged in two of the opposed slits to oppose movement of the sponge member away from the retainer.

  • Patent number: 4077082
Abstract: Roller cover support consists of blow molded sleeve having plural protruding ribs to frictionally retain the roller cover in place. The ends of the sleeve are molded to receive and mount end caps thereon which include suitable bearings for the roller frame shaft and provide some support against collapse or flattening out of the sleeve during use under pressure. The O.D. of the end caps and adjacent ends of the sleeve are slightly smaller than the I.D. of the roller cover for normal concentricity and guidance of the roller cover onto the sleeve, and the ends of the ribs are tapered to wedge the roller cover on. When the roller frame shaft extends all the way through the roller support, perforations may be placed along the length of the sleeve to provide for drainage of any water or other liquid that may seep into the interior of the sleeve through the end cap bearings during clean up.

  • Patent number: 4075730
Abstract: Squeegee construction for showerbath surfaces which is water impervious. The squeegee construction comprises a hollow, relatively rigid, plastic T-shaped handle mounting an extruded integral squeegee that is formed of two different durometers of plastic material. A rigid backbone portion engages in between rigid non-spreadable jaws defined by an elongate groove formed in the crossbar portion of the handle requiring an endwise entry and an elastomeric squeegee blade protrudes from the crossbar to provide the squeegee function. The squeegee is secured by means of protrusions extending from the rigid backbone into openings formed in the crossbar portion of the handle.

  • Patent number: 4071921
Abstract: A disposable grease absorbing device has a pad of grease absorbent material. A sheet of liquid-impervious material is affixed to the grease absorbent material and covers one of the surfaces thereof. A sheet of wrapping material larger than approximately half the area of a surface of the pad is affixed next-adjacent the liquid-impervious material to form a main pocket and is folded over on itself to form an inner pocket. After use, when the grease absorbent material is saturated with grease, it is foldable in a manner whereby the wrapping material restrains it in folded condition with the liquid-impervious material on the outside, so that the grease does not contact or stain anything other than the pad.

  • Patent number: 4069536
Abstract: The golf club washer has a liquid containing box structure. The box structure has a hinged upper portion. The upper portion has an open top surface. Two spongeous rolls are mounted in the upper portion of the box so that a narrow gap exists therebetween. The rolls are suspended so a club can have its top surface abut the lower portion of the rolls. The spongeous rolls have their outer surface lined with a synthetic grass. The synthetic grass has a web with a plurality of apertures therethrough and resilient grass-like bristles outwardly extending from the web. The bottom portion of the box structure is lined with a synthetic grass and a plastic container is placed therein. A solution can be placed within the plastic container. A golf club is manually washed by being inserted through the gap and rubbed against the synthetic grass bristled surface. • Patent number: 4065826
Abstract: A disposable waterproof glove comprises an outside layer which is a laminar pile surfaced material with the pile surface outermost and first and second inside water impervious layers of thermoplastic film, the three layers being superimposed and joined together around three edges to form a glove having an open end. The laminar pile surfaced material is formed by feeding a thermoplastic material and a porous backing to a heated surface with the thermoplastic material between the backing and the heated surface so that the thermoplastic softens and bonds to the backing as well as adhering to the heated surface so that the combination of the thermoplastic and peeling the backing away from the heated surface draws the thermoplastic into fibrils or tufts to provide a pile surface on the porous backing.
