  • Patent number: 4114224
Abstract: In a mop comprising a plurality of absorptive elements, a handle, and means joining said elements to said handle, the improvement wherein said absorptive elements comprise substantially flat strips of bonded nonwoven fabric, said strips ranging in width from about 5 to 60 mm, in length from about 15 to 60 cm and in thickness from about 0.5 to 3 mm. Binder may be printed onto the elements. The elements are flat and thus there is a greater area of contact with the surface being mopped. The elements may be joined into a round or elongate cross section mop by providing the elements with cuts through which a male member projects, the male member locking with a snap fit into a female member to which a mop handle is attached. Projections may be provided in the male and/or female members to immobilize the absorptive elements.

  • Patent number: 4112537
Abstract: A tool for scraping the wires or rods constituting a barbeque grill or the like. The tool has a handle terminating in a stiff extension having a U-shaped distal end. A wheel is pivotably secured at its center to said extension and has a plurality of U-shaped indentations of different widths. The wheel may be rotated to align a suitably sized U-shaped indentation thereof with the U-shaped distal end of said extension. The latter indentation is of a width equal to the largest of the indentations in the wheel and of a depth equal to the deepest indentation in the wheel. The extension or backing element prevents rotation of the indented wheel during a scraping operation.

  • Patent number: 4109335
Abstract: Shoe support apparatus, particularly for supporting a shoe thereon during the performance of a shoe shining operation, is disclosed. A base panel is adapted to be secured to a vertical support surface, such as, for example, a wall or a door. A shoe support member is pivotably mounted adjacent the lower portion of the panel. A shoe retaining assembly is pivotally mounted adjacent the upper portion of the panel and comprises three relatively movable sections including a shoe tree structure. The sections are connected by unique pivot joints formed of integral parts of said sections, and are so arranged as to define an over-center type locking mechanism. In this manner, the apparatus is able to be collapsed for storage and quickly erected and locked for rigidly supporting the shoe during a shoe polishing operation.

  • Patent number: 4107815
Abstract: Paint applicator means for applying paint to a pad painter, comprising a conventional paint tray, a paint transfer roller, and mounting means for rotatably supporting the paint transfer roller on the conventional paint tray in partial immersion in the paint contained therein. Paint is applied to the pad painter by moving the pad painter across the paint transfer roller and causing the roller to rotate in the paint, thereby picking up paint from the paint tray and transfering it to the pad painter. The mounting means is adaptable to both deep and shallow well paint trays, and it includes support means for adjustably supporting the paint transfer roller a predetermined distance above the bottom wall of the paint tray, and at selected heights relative to the surface level of the paint.

  • Patent number: 4107811
Abstract: An improved tacky floor mat for removing loose particles of dirt, dust and the like coming in contact therewith from shoes, wheels, etc. The floor mat includes a stack of adhered, peelable sheets with a layer of adhesive on the upper surface of each sheet. As the adhesive ability of each sheet is diminished it is peeled from the stack to expose the next fresh sheet. To improve the peeling of the sheet a thin coating of non-adhesive material is print deposited on the adhesive layer in a corner of the upper surface of each sheet. To inform the user which corner has been treated the thin coating is generally a different color than the sheets.
