Abstract: A display device includes a display section, a display control section, an acceptance section, and a storage section. The display control section allows the display section to display an input screen including a plurality of character input fields. When all characters displayed in a character input field designated as a character input destination are deleted by a sequence of character deletion operations, the display control section allows the storage section to store the deleted characters. Then, when the acceptance section accepts an operation for canceling designation of the character input field as the character input destination, the display control section allows the display section to display, in another of the plurality of character input fields, the characters stored in the storage section.

Abstract: A system and method for flashing an electronic device. An electronic device is received for remote flashing. The electronic device is in direct communication with a remote device. The identifying information is received for the electronic device. User instructions associated with the electronic device are displayed for flashing the electronic device. The electronic device is flashed in response to the identifying information.

Abstract: A method, system, computer program product, and computer readable storage medium provide the ability to prevent bypass of advertisement viewing. A media content user interface component (that controls playback of the media content and an advertisement in a media player) is activated. The component includes a circular progress bar and a progress marker that coincides with the circular progress bar. As the media content is playing, the progress marker moves around the circular progress bar reflecting a progress of the playing. At a defined point in the media content, an advertisement is played. User input advances the progress marker along the circular progress bar to fast forward the media content. Upon an attempt to advance the progress marker a defined threshold distance beyond the advertisement, the progress marker is snapped back to the advertisement thereby preventing bypass of viewing the advertisement.

Abstract: A method and system are provided that provide an avatar based customer service experience with a human support agent. The methods and systems receive, from a customer computing (CC) device, a request for assistance fulfillable by one of a plurality of support agents. The methods and systems launch an avatar-based exchange that includes receiving customer issue definition (CID) information from the CC device regarding the request for assistance, defining a virtual character to be presented on the CC device; and providing pre-recorded support (PRS) content based on the CID information. The PRS content is presented in combination with animation of the virtual character. The methods and systems select a support agent, and transition a basis for the avatar-based exchange from the PRS content to support agent content such that the support agent communicates with the customer through the virtual character animated on the CC device.

Abstract: A metaverse system includes a client computer coupled to a network, a metaverse server coupled to the client computer, the metaverse server to host a metaverse application, and a group link engine coupled to the server. The engine opens a group link connection in response to a request from a user. A linked group associated with the connection includes at least two linked users, and at least one of the linked users is designated as a leader, and each of the at least two linked users is associated with an avatar different from the avatar associated with the other. The engine includes a group link controller to allow the leader to control an action of a second avatar of a second user. The action of the second avatar can be viewed separately from each avatar associated with the at least one linked users that are designated as the leader.

Abstract: A method for displaying messages includes receiving a first message, displaying a first data corresponding to the first message in a first line on a screen, receiving a second message, and displaying a second data corresponding to the second message in the first line on the a left or right side of the first data. An electronic device includes a memory, and one or more processors, wherein the one or more processors are configured to receive a first message, display a first data corresponding to the first message in a first line on a screen, receive a second message, and display a second data corresponding to the second message in the first line on the a left or right side of the first data.

Abstract: In an embodiment of the invention, a portable electronic device may conserve power while in a normal power mode. The display screen of the portable electronic device may be switched from an original screen mode to an adjusted screen mode. In adjusted screen mode, the display screen may display an adjustable displaying area that is reduced from an original size and it may include an inactive area sized to reduce display consumption of power. An original interface, or a portion thereof, may be displayed in the adjustable displaying area. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: In one implementation, an image-based application automation system determines that a first image from a plurality of images associated with an input event does not satisfy any portion of a graphical user interface at a first time. The image-based application automation system then selects, independent of user input, a second image from the plurality of images after the first time, and identifies a portion of the graphical user interface satisfied by the second image.

Abstract: A device and method are provided for receiving and presenting input content. The device initially displays an input screen including a user action interface region having a first input field having a first fixed width and a fixed height. When overflowing content is detected, the first input field is replaced with at least one user interface element, and the first input field is translated and expanded to a new second position substantially non-overlapping with the first, the new input field being larger in width than the original input field.

Abstract: The method of providing audiovisual content to a client device configured to be coupled to a display. The method detects a selection of a graphical element corresponding to a video content item. In response to detecting the selection of the graphical element, a transmission mode is determined. The transmission mode is a function of: (i) one or more decoding capabilities of the client device; (ii) a video encoding format of the video content item; (ii) whether the video content item should be displayed in a full screen or a partial screen format; and (iv) whether the client device is capable of overlaying image data into a video stream. Next, audiovisual data that includes the video content item is prepared for transmission according to the determined transmission mode. Finally, the prepared audiovisual data is transmitted from the server toward the client device, according to the determined transmission mode, for display on the display.

Abstract: A touch system user interface displays a plurality of user interface elements in a timeline, wherein each of the user interface elements is associated with a respective event having a number of event attributes, including a date attribute. Each user interface element includes a visual representation of a displayed set of the event attributes and is positioned within the timeline based on the date event attribute. The position and/or spatial zoom level of the user interface elements are modified based on the user input, and the displayed set of event attributes is based on the spatial zoom level.

Abstract: A method and computer system for processing a web page. A first web page is parsed. The first web page includes at least one Universal Resource Locator (URL). During the parsing, as each URL of the at least one URL on the first web page is encountered, the first web page is transformed by appending to a link statement of each URL on the first web page an associated two-key code that associates the two-key code with each URL on the first web page. The first web page is displayed on a display screen of the computer system. The display of the web page is initiated after the parsing has been performed.

Abstract: A method is provided in association with a managed system having a substantial number of resources. The method includes the step of selecting an attribute that is common to all of the resources, wherein each resource has a status in regard to the selected attribute that is one of a plurality of prespecified statuses that are available for the attribute. The method further includes compressing the group of resources into a set of subgroups, wherein each subgroup corresponds to a different prespecified status of the plurality, and each resource having a given status is placed into the subgroup that corresponds to the given status. Each of the subgroups is represented by a display element on a single computer display screen, and specified information is displayed with each display element, wherein the specified information for a display element pertains to all of the resources placed into the subgroup that are represented by the display element.

Abstract: A method includes monitoring media content at media content locations to identify media content items. The media content locations are identified in social network data stored by a set-top box device. The method includes receiving, at the set-top box device, a command to present image cells to a display device. The command is responsive to an alert sent from the set-top box device. The method also includes presenting the image cells at the display device. At least one of the image cells includes an image corresponding to an identified media content item.

Abstract: Provided is a job plan display system capable of displaying a job plan on a product, and displaying a thumbnail as image information on the product on a display area of the job plan based on design data of the product, allowing an appropriate thumbnail to be displayed while suppressing an increase in system load. The job plan display system is configured to determine whether or not to display or update the thumbnail on a display area of the job plan based on at least one of intention of a designer who created the design data, such intention being assigned to the design data of the product, a predetermined update time, progress information on the design data created and a relationship between a changing part of the design data when the design data is changed and viewpoint coordinates when creating the thumbnail.

Abstract: An approach to managing information makes use of a multi-program graphical user environment (e.g., a virtual desktop). The graphical environment includes a first part in which information elements are presented to a user. A user selection of one or more information elements is accepted and corresponding representations of those elements are formed in another part of the graphical environment. The representations formed in the other part of the graphical environment are persistent as further information elements are presented to the user in the first part of the environment. In some examples, information elements may be classified by users such that application of and access to classifications is mediated a privilege system.

Abstract: A method and system for using spatial audio in a virtual environment, which is capable of running on portable devices with limited processing power, and utilizing low bandwidth communication connections. The system identifies a first avatar in the virtual environment; and determines if the avatar satisfies a reuse criterion, which will enable the system to reuse the audio information which has been generated for a second avatar in the virtual environment for the first avatar.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method for icon based application control. The method includes receiving, by a processor, a detection signal indicative of a pre-defined user action on an icon in a graphical user interface (GUI). The icon has an associated application. Further, the method includes extracting adjustable settings of the associated application with the icon, and providing, by the processor, a setting interface for the icon in the GUI to enable adjustments of the settings for the application to be performed via the setting interface.

Abstract: A method for selecting a list element from a list displayable on a motor vehicle display unit. The list is displayed on a first display unit. First upwards/downwards commands are received upon actuation of an operating element by a user and, corresponding to the first upwards/downwards commands received, a first preselection region, which highlights a plurality of list elements, is moved upwards/downwards within the displayed list. A first selection command is received upon an actuation of the operating element and then a sublist, which exclusively comprises the list elements highlighted by the first preselection region is displayed on a second display unit. Second upwards/downwards commands are received and, corresponding thereto, a second preselection region, which highlights a single list element in the sublist, is moved upwards/downwards within the displayed sublist. A second selection command selects the list element highlighted by the second preselection region.

Abstract: An information management problem definition system has a processing device configured for receiving a plurality of messages comprising a chat session from a plurality of users communicating via a plurality of workstations during a problem definition initiative conference session. The processing device is further configured for logging session data and event data comprising data corresponding to one or more messages received from one or more users during the chat session, archiving at least a portion of the logged event data, wherein the archived data is configured as searchable and retrievable data, and initiating an interface to one or more of the plurality of users including initiating display of at least one of the plurality of messages via the interface and initiating display of at least some of the event data and at least some of the session data via the interface.
