  • Patent number: 10268888
Abstract: A method and apparatus for biometric data capture are provided. The apparatus includes in interactive head-mounted eyepiece worn by a user that includes an optical assembly through which a user views a surrounding environment and displayed content. The optical assembly comprises a corrective element that corrects the user's view of the surrounding environment and an integrated processor for handling content to the user. An integrated optical sensor captures biometric data when the eyepiece is positioned so that a nearby individual is proximate to the eyepiece. Biometric data is captured using the eyepiece and is transmitted to a remote processing facility for interpretation. The remote processing facility interprets the captured biometric data and generates display content based on the interpretation. This display content is delivered to the eyepiece and displayed to the user.

  • Patent number: 10242163
Abstract: According to example configurations as described herein, use of software can be contingent upon whether a hierarchical license tree has a valid license for a software resource associated with a respective node in the tree. For example, an installer can be configured to traverse the hierarchical license tree to identify which, if any, of the software resources as represented by nodes in the tree has a valid license and therefore can be installed for execution on a respective computer system. If a valid license exists for a given node in the tree, the software resource associated with the given node as well as software resources associated with child nodes of the given node can be installed for use on the computer. A software resource manager can be configured to prevent installation, execution, etc., of software resources for nodes above the respective parent node that do not have a corresponding valid license.

  • Patent number: 10223731
Abstract: This disclosure presents techniques for selecting an add-on item to present to consumers at a check-out user interface of an electronic marketplace. The selection techniques involve presenting a consumer with a selection of add-on items that are unrelated to items added by the consumer to her shopping cart. The check-out user interface can present the consumer with a one-time offer to add the add-on item to her shopping cart. In some examples, the add-on items can represent over-stocked items or items that a supplier is attempting to liquidate. Further, the selection techniques can minimize the additional labor cost of retrieving the add-on item from a fulfillment center, by selecting add-on items that are located within a close physical proximity to items that the consumer has already added to her shopping cart.

  • Patent number: 10108968
Abstract: A fraudulent advertiser account detection system may be used by a Website operator to identify active advertiser accounts as at least one of either a known valid advertiser account or a known fraudulent advertiser account. Each advertiser account has a logically associated account profile. Each account profile includes a number of advertiser attributes, each attribute having one or more logically associated attribute values characterizing the respective advertiser. Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for managing the display of online ad content consistent with one or more e-commerce objectives. A collection module may be operable to collect attribute values for a set of attributes characterizing user visits to a set of training webpages and subsequent attribute values for a subsequent user visit to a subsequent webpage. A model-generation module may be operable to train a probability model with the attribute values that predicts outcomes for at least one performance metric. A display module may be operable to determine whether to display ad content on the subsequent webpage for the subsequent user visit depending on whether a predicted outcome from the probability model that is relevant to the subsequent attribute values is consistent with one or more e-commerce objectives. The probability model may be a decision tree with different predicted outcomes for different combinations of attribute values.
